Bloody loving this.

Even if there are inconsistencies.

Welcome back all.

Agree that the acting is mostly terrible, although the script is so bad that the actors can only be partly to blame. Kate was good though, and I like how her character has been fleshed out more beyond 'young blonde bimbo'.

Her dad's obvious glee at telling Simon to fuck off was pretty wonderful to see. He had a very satisfying speech to deliver. It was even more fun than Simon and Kate's passive aggressive grandstanding in episode 1. I have to admit I laughed out loud at Simon getting his comeuppance by losing everything. Thoroughly well deserved

Gavisconbreath · 27/09/2017 08:16

This was a much better episode and I thought the actress who played Kate did a really good job. It was good to have The Parks in it as they haven't been around much this series. I remember Neil Stuke from Game On too. Some of the stuff in that programme would be really un-PC now, it's almost as cringey as some of the scenes in this series of Dr Foster....

Bit disappointed by the knee jerk scene at the end where she was going to run over Slimon. I think there's more conversation to be had between these two.

Good to see the smug, free loading leech get his comeuppance but I can't help but feel Gemma has got away with some appalling behaviour herself. The poor son is confused and in turmoil and she feels she has somehow 'won'.

Will Neil be back? Can't say I have a crush on him (he probably calls women 'totty') like some ladies here, but he is a character.

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 27/09/2017 08:24

About to catch up...just sent the kids off to school ...

southeastdweller · 27/09/2017 08:29

I hope that the hateful Gemma gets what’s coming to her next week. Move the fuck on woman and get a life!

Papafran · 27/09/2017 08:33

My hope is that the beautiful man neighbour (why is he sooo attractive?!) Will come back in and save Gemma somehow, he loves her and Simon has essentially ruined his life so he has a lot of reason to go after him!

You mean the creepy serial adulterer who shags random women he meets in bars and then gets upset when his long-suffering wife finally has enough and leaves him? Why the fuck would Gemma want to be 'saved' by him?

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 27/09/2017 08:37

pap "you mean the creepy serial adulterer". I agree with you!

There's nothing "beautiful" about him at all and was shocked reading anyone would think that. Gemma wouldn't touch him with a barge pole now.

Papafran · 27/09/2017 08:39

Yes, she only slept with him in S1 so that she could get information about Simon's business dealings and knew he was thick enough to instantly fall for the bait if she offered him sex. She has never been remotely interested in a genuine relationship with him.

southeastdweller · 27/09/2017 08:52

She probably wouldn’t touch him now, but she’s hardly a prized catch herself.

Madeyemoodysmum · 27/09/2017 08:59

Really enjoyed that episode I thought Kate isn't a natural mother though. No love or soul in her singing to her daughter as all!

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 09:08

Teacher James is on ITV Lorraine now!

FeralBeryl · 27/09/2017 09:11

I was actually most 'worried' for Gemma after Slimon's Tesco toddler tantrum. The most dangerous human is the one with nothing left to lose. Let's hope he's in pieces in the ditch Wink
Cafe I think you're on the right lines with Tom, or he's told him that she killed Grandma and was going to kill Tom too (maybe showed him the hair etc)

Yourownworstenemy · 27/09/2017 09:11

pap you know he's an actor right?

I never said anyone would want to be saved by him, but I feel like Simon is going to have to die as they made such a big thing about him leaving in a coffin

It cant/shouldn't be Gemma because she proclaims she's doing all this for her son, well a dead dad and a mum in prison is just about going to finish him off and villify her

he is besotted by Gemma so would 'realistically' Hmm do something like that, he blames Simon for his wife leaving, so he's obviously very mad at him, and most importantly he's a throw away character, hes basically already left the program, hes a baddie so character wise we could accept him doing a bad thing, and he has gone above and beyond in the past to help Gemma (albeit because he fancies her)

That's my thoughts anyway 😊

lollipop7 · 27/09/2017 09:20

She won't kill Slimon ( â„¢ @FeralBeryl )
Tom will be ok. I think. I hope.

I'm just hoping it doesn't come full circle and they don't end up back together in that bloody house.

Papafran · 27/09/2017 09:20

Yeah obviously I know he is a character... That's why I was describing his character as being sleazy and adulterous rather than 'beautiful'. I have no idea what the actor is like. Others have also said they have a crush on the character, which I didn't really understand because the character is meant to be a dis-likable one and has always been portrayed as a sleazy serial shagger.

Also, I am not sure he 'loves' her. She blackmailed him in S1 and he then agreed to do some digging for her in S2 which led to his wife (understandably) leaving him. But Gemma has never expressed anything but contempt for him so I doubt he will be her knight in shining armour. But maybe I am wrong...

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 27/09/2017 09:33

Great episode, and no Ros. Coincidence?

Re Simon’s jumping up and down tantrum...my ex neighbour did exactly the same. There are no driveways and everyone parks on the street. He felt entitled to the space directly outside his house. Two cars were parked there with a space in between not quite large enough for his car. Omg I wish I’d filmed it. He had had s briefcase in one hand and laptop bag in the other so the arm waving was curtailed somewhat, but the jumping up and down was there. He moved not long after. It’s very peaceful without his madness. His wife was as bad.

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 09:34

Lollipop - the whole of the next episode I will have to make sure there are no heavy objects around in case they do end up back together and I accidentally chuck something at the tv. I have a bad feeling...

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 27/09/2017 09:36

I think Gemma is more obsessed with Simon. Simon’s just a horrible unfaithful garden variety cunt.

MissEliza · 27/09/2017 09:36

I've just watched the actor who plays James on Lorraine. He seems really lovely. Now he is apparently of Asian origin but his character is called James. The actor who plays Roz is also of Asian origin but has an English name. On Safe House on ITV Sunitra Sarker (I love her!) plays a character called Jane. I'm really pleased to see more diverse casts on TV but wouldn't it help even more if they actually played people from an ethnic minority IYSWIM by having a name which goes with their origin? I get perhaps when the character was written they called him James and the actor was cast afterwards. Would it really take so much effort to change the name? Am I making sense Grin?

MusicToMyEars800 · 27/09/2017 09:50

CanI I was thinking the same thing, Tom will end up living with Anna across the road.

Onecutefox · 27/09/2017 09:52

Lots of irony in the film.

Onecutefox · 27/09/2017 09:54

Don't think she killed him. Think she swerved and stopped to give Simon a lift. She knows she can loose Tom and it's time for her to sort the mess out.

Maudlinmaud · 27/09/2017 09:57

At last. A watchable less cringe episode.
We all still cringed when Gemma told Kate her husband is obsessed with her, right?
What a total bitch. She set out to sleep with him last week and seduced him.
Anyway, I'm glad Kate got out and enjoyed that scene immensely. Simon and Gemma are too very fucked up people, I feel sorry for the children and the Parks. Hopefully they end up alone or back together.

TheNaze73 · 27/09/2017 10:04

I'm hoping Gemma gets her comeuppance in the final episode too. Thought last nights episode was a bit of a return to form after 3 sub standard episodes

Onecutefox · 27/09/2017 10:13

Was the sex good with Gemma? Erm, Erm, yeah, it was good but you are kinder and younger Grin.

FeralBeryl · 27/09/2017 10:16

Ooh ooh one cute has brought a new clue!
She may well have pulled slightly right to avoid him, then hard left to cut in front of him to give him a lift to address Tom together?!?
