Bloody loving this.

Even if there are inconsistencies.

Welcome back all.

@ktel1 I got to the bit with the champagne bottle 😱then Little Miss woke up. Thought it would be good.

JamOrCreamFirst · 26/09/2017 23:49

She's left him with nothing to lose, which makes him very dangerous. (I'm assuming she hasn't run him over.)

SinisterBumFacedCat · 26/09/2017 23:51

I enjoyed tonight's episode right up until it looked like she was going to run him over. He's not worth going to prison for.

I always think of Neil Stuke as Matthew from Game On, he's done well considering he couldn't leave the house before Grin

NikiBabe · 26/09/2017 23:56

Simon is so fucking stupid.

To keep a lavish kept lifestyle all he had to do was shut up and not fuck Gemma. How hard is it.

Stupid arse.

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 26/09/2017 23:58

For any fans of "This is England", I've just had the horrible realisation that Dr Foster's opening instrumental theme music ("Fly" by Ludovico Einaudi) was exactly the same track used during that traumatic scene for poor Lol. Eurgh. Sad

Janni65 · 27/09/2017 00:03

I think Simon was goading Gemma into running him over - he must have known it was a strong possibility. He has nothing left to lose and if Gemma kills or maims him she goes to prison and loses Tom, which will be Simons' revenge on her for destroying him.

Poor Tom always comes off badly.

TizzyDongue · 27/09/2017 00:09

Well!!

That was unexpected.

The conversation he had with Kate in the kitchen - her asking him about sleeping with Gemma and telling him to tell the truth. Was that not similar to the conversation Gemma had with him in their kitchen in series 1?

I'm also worried Tom might kill himself. Not nice.

NikiBabe · 27/09/2017 00:09

Poor Tom doesn't have anyone else.

Gemma's parents are dead. Simon's too.

Amelie has Kate's parents to watch over them all.

Tom always comes off the worst.

ktel1 · 27/09/2017 00:45

I have a feeling that the scene with the syringes won't be revisited

Perhaps the scene was misleading and it wasn't part of a future plan

If that's the case then it will be due to bad directing/editing

Yourownworstenemy · 27/09/2017 01:01

Could the thing that Simon told tom to turn him against Gemma be what she did at the end of series 1 where she made out she'd killed him? I can't remember whether he knew that or not?

I really don't think they would have her running him over, I would like to think if she was going to kill him she would at least attempt to get away with it, for toms sake if nothing else!

My fear for the end of this series is that they will try too hard to have a shock ending or unpredictable therefore doing something stupid!

My hope is that the beautiful man neighbour (why is he sooo attractive?!) Will come back in and save Gemma somehow, he loves her and Simon has essentially ruined his life so he has a lot of reason to go after him! Fingers crossed Grin

  1. Comedy highlight: Slimon (copyright FeralBeryl) tantrumming on his driveway...
Who knew RL adults did angry jumping up and down, fists aloft, and not just cartoon characters/ frustrated toddlers?

Please, please, please can a tech-literate MNer make it into an animated gif? 'Twas marvellous to behold, and deserving of eternal mockery.

(Bit disappointed Slimon didn't also go the full Basil Fawlty, by whipping Gemma's car with a leafy branch, mind you).

  1. Grudgingly admire his astounding optimism that he'd outwalk Gemma's driving speed to reach Tom before her. Hmm
He set off with such cocky determination, too, poor lamb.
aaahhhBump · 27/09/2017 02:23

Slimon's tantrum

Kate moved quickly didnt she?
ho ho, and also loved her dad telling him to Fuck Off.

yay.
I dont believe she will run him over and kill him, perhaps she breaks his legs?

Timefortea99 · 27/09/2017 06:37

The best acting in this was the one who plays Kate. The rest of them are hamming it up. This is a rubbish series. The first one was so good. This one is pathetic. Surely there won't be a third.

The80sweregreat · 27/09/2017 06:54

i want to know what he said to Tom that she doesnt want him to know about?
the dad was funny, probably been waiting two years to tell him where to go, he knows he isnt any good.

Onecutefox · 27/09/2017 07:02

She didn't run him over as you could see she turned the steering wheel to the right. Probably she liked the idea only. Now she needs to go to the hotel and talk to Tom before Simon does it unless she has stopped abruptly to give him a lift Grin.

wineusuallyhelps · 27/09/2017 07:14

I feel as if they are all caricatures and the only decent and believable acting is coming from Kate and Tom.

I loved the scene where the dad finally got to tell Simon where to get off, though! That was a good bit of script for once.

CatherineCawood · 27/09/2017 07:24

She didn't swerve to avoid him she swerved slightly to get a really good impact. I just rewatched the ending 3 times, she swerves to the left (her right) slightly then turns more sharply to get him full on. Hope he is dead. Tosser.

Inkanta · 27/09/2017 07:55

"Something went wrong in the film where Kate was telling her mum that Gemma left the town. They showed the same part twice - at the beginning and towards the end."

Yes I noticed that Onecutefox! Thought programme had jumped to the beginning for a moment there.

Great KARMA in this episode. Kate's dad was good, - bet he'd never really liked Simon. Yes good acting from the Kate actress.

wineusuallyhelps · 27/09/2017 07:59

I thought they showed the Kate/Mum scene again because it was then telling the story from the Mum’s point of view, i.e. what happened that day for her. Because it said “8am” on the screen etc.

Slartybartfast · 27/09/2017 08:04

i thougth she swerved into him?

kate's dad and simon used to be business partners didnt they? or at least friends

MorrisZapp · 27/09/2017 08:05

The scene in which Simon compares having sex with Gemma to having sex with Kate was the worst writing and acting I've ever suffered through in my life.

My toes are still clenched.

MorrisZapp · 27/09/2017 08:06

Closely followed by standing six feet apart in the Premier inn, Delivering Lines.

TizzyDongue · 27/09/2017 08:06

No it wasn't a repeat (as such) but was just were the previously/flashback part caught up to were we been viewing from at first.
