I'm sure there are many planning to watch this tonight but I can't see a thread, apologies if there is one.

Looks promising with good acting stock. I'm already worried about the implications for real life reporting and conviction rates if the female is lying. Got a feeling it won't be that black and white though.

This is ridiculous

BuzzKillington · 18/09/2017 21:59

This is ludicrous. I hope she is lying - silly moo.

troodiedoo · 18/09/2017 21:59

Oh for heavens sake!

I'm convinced her sister has something to do with it, she's an anaesthetist right?

Some kind of grudge against her own sister and him too - kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Belle1616 · 18/09/2017 22:04

I find her unhinged and annoying, at this point I'm rooting for him to be innocent

captainprincess · 18/09/2017 22:05

She is massively irritating and wouldn't they have found her earring when they searched the house Hmm

Rafflesway · 18/09/2017 22:05

Interesting his bedroom was a "Dashing" shade of deep jade - the exact same colour of the walls in her sister's house. Confused

Surely she would never be allowed to teach his son in the circumstances?

However, must say I am really enjoying it so far despite some far fetched things taking place but hate to say that JF's character is really unlikeable here IMO.

FeralBeryl · 18/09/2017 22:06

I get all the theories about it being someone else etc, but they both know they had sex. Either consensual or rape but it happened - they both agree about that.
So? I reckon the sister has drugged them both - maybe he has 'wronged' her at work, and she wants her sister confirmed as a liar so her secret boyfriend (sisters ex) will never be interested again?
Gah- I like to have a few theories on the go by now but I'm stumped Angry

haveacupoftea · 18/09/2017 22:06

Why was he keeping insulin under his bed? It should be stored in a fridge.

Rafflesway · 18/09/2017 22:08

Ooh like that idea Chic! Would definitely make sense.

I was wondering if perhaps he had operated on someone close to her who had subsequently died and this was some sort of revenge but then surely the sister would be aware of the person who had died and the history behind their death.

newjobblewobble · 18/09/2017 22:08

I assume the woman leaving the house as she entered was a cleaner or something? And yes, how come the police didn't find her earring?

newjobblewobble · 18/09/2017 22:09

Do we think the man on the phone is their dad? Maybe the sister's never forgiven her for accusing him?

squaresandsquares · 18/09/2017 22:10

Why is there insulin anyway?

BeyondNoone · 18/09/2017 22:15

I have a horrible feeling we won't get a proper 'resolution' - that it'll be left at he said she said, with no prosecution by cps and no big reveal of the truth. Perhaps to reflect how many cases have no resolution in RL?

I hope I'm wrong, but it would shine a light on how many victims don't get justice? It was her reading that site and him saying "the truth always puts" that made me think of it

BeyondNoone · 18/09/2017 22:15

*outs

ChicRock · 18/09/2017 22:17

Pretty sure I read somewhere that we find out the truth just over halfway thru, and the rest of it is the aftermath. I could be wrong though, I might have even read it in here.

BeyondNoone · 18/09/2017 22:17

I reckon she accused the old man of CSA and was then sectioned relating to it (perhaps when he was found innocent?), but that it was actually the truth.

ch24 · 18/09/2017 22:22

I am hooked I didn't want it to end tonight ! I really hope she is the one lying she's really irritating.

keepondreaming · 18/09/2017 22:26

Did anyone notice the name of the kayak she was in?

It was called "Perception"

troodiedoo · 18/09/2017 22:27

@ChicRock yes think I heard that when JF was on this morning.

raisedbyguineapigs · 18/09/2017 22:49

The insulin thing is odd. If a vial of insulin broke, why would you decant it into a different bottle and keep it under your bed? It's hardly in short supply, and as PP said, it would be useless unless refrigerated. The problem is that even though she is implausible and irritating, but they surely can't go there with the false rape allegation of an unhinged serial accuser. Why would Rape Crisis have anything to do with a storyline like that? There must be more to it.

Robinkitty · 18/09/2017 22:55

They were looking for drugs when they searched his house so wouldn't have been bothered about an earing on the floor.

NotJustThreeSmallWords · 18/09/2017 23:38

Why do you think the man on the phone was her father? Have I missed something?

JoanUpney · 18/09/2017 23:46

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret

It's the marshes of Tollesbury in Essex. It is indeed very beautiful. All the main cast were seen filming around the Marina in the village back in February. So hopefully we'll be seeing more of Tollesbury in future episodes.

BeaLola · 18/09/2017 23:47

So many inconsistencies, the scarf, same paint used in every house etc.

There is no way her headteacher would have allowed her to carry on teaching his son. Don't think her sister should have worked on same case as him but probably stretched for anesthatist?

Thinking he killed his ex with insulin overdose ? Although not sure why the old bottle would be under the new bed in his new house hundreds of miles away from where they lived 11 years ago ? Did they really say11 years ago ? Surely he would have fancied someone else in all that time or was he lying to his son ?

Thinking Peter Davison is either her Father, teacher at previous school who she has accused of something in past ....
