I'm sure there are many planning to watch this tonight but I can't see a thread, apologies if there is one.

Looks promising with good acting stock. I'm already worried about the implications for real life reporting and conviction rates if the female is lying. Got a feeling it won't be that black and white though.

OP posts:

Oh, posted too soon.

I think the ending was rushed and muddled, but I will watch a second series. Ioan is HAWT.

BeyondNoone · 18/10/2017 11:33

I watched an entire season of Forever, I won't let a little thing like the plot being nonsense stop me Grin

Inkanta · 18/10/2017 20:04

Yes it was a rushed ending. Looks like suicide except for ligature mark. I would expect that kind of psychopath to commit suicide - once the cat's out of the bag.

ConcreteUnderpants · 18/10/2017 21:12

Not even filming until 2019?!
Is that a deliberate cunning plan to ensure we all forget how shite it was??

GinLimeandLemonade · 18/10/2017 21:50

Apparently airing in 2019 and they've started working on it. And from what they've said it sounds like he's not been there for the 3 weeks...

"Andrew has been missing for several weeks and then we see his dead body in the empty marshlands. The question is: what happened in those missing weeks that led to Andrew’s demise?”

3catsandcounting · 18/10/2017 23:07

pack - yes, I thought the same as you. That last scene where male detective announced to Laura, far too calmly and measured, that it was all sorted and 'they' were on their way over to arrest him.
I almost thought he was lying, to placate her; all very odd.

triplets · 18/10/2017 23:23

As I live in the town where it was filmed and as its my friends house they used for her sister/husband/kids I will let you know when the team are back! Yes disappointing ending, would have been better if he had disappeared then left us wondering in readiness for series two. Had to know where its going to go next!

triplets · 18/10/2017 23:25

I agree 3cats, he seemed odd and why did he take so long to get back to the station?

packofshunts · 19/10/2017 07:17

Maybe male cop is in the frame too for the murder??

Can’t recall actual timings but might explain shifty behaviour and why he was delayed meeting with Laura?

Inkanta · 19/10/2017 08:10

Yes - the male cop I thought that too! He looked hot and bothered when he got back to base where Laura had been waiting. She was impatient like she'd been waiting a while. The way he said it was all over was a bit creepy. Could be because he'd bumped him off.

Would he be strong enough to carry him and transfer him from boat to island though.

Inkanta · 19/10/2017 08:56

Didn't Laura do well though! Got to hand it to her. Figuring it all out herself - where he hid the tapes and courageously getting them. Upsetting to see the footage I know but it was proof that set her own mind at rest if nothing else. The truth will set her free.

haveacupoftea · 19/10/2017 11:32

think he's killed himself. He knows his career is over and he'll be sent to prison for along time. He wants to end his life but while he's at it he wants to get revenge on the person who has ruined his plans. He's set up some elaborate evidence suggesting that Laura has killed him. His body will be found in the place where Laura goes canoeing. So that even from beyond the grave he is lying.

^^ this!! It's totally obvious!

MissEliza · 19/10/2017 18:33

Haveacupoftea that makes total sense.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2017 21:48

Maybe the ex copper boyfriend - police partner of VANESSA and gf all helped to kill him and dispose of body

Fit man to drag /carry and JILL halfp to kill

Wingedharpy · 19/10/2017 23:19

I think you are right Blondes.
Ex cop boyfriend was sacked, he said, due to Earlham saying he would settle for nothing less.
So, he has motive too.
Having studied still pics of the corpse, his throat had been cut.
Therefore, not likely to be suicide IMHO.
Trouble is, we'll all have forgotten what happened by the time the next series is made and screened.
In the words of Vic and Bob, they should have let it lie.

JaneJeffer · 19/10/2017 23:23

I though this was a very good series but the end was disappointing because I would have preferred him to rot in jail and get plenty of abuse from his fellow inmates. I felt very sorry for his son. What's going to happen to him?

JoanUpney · 19/10/2017 23:24

Apparently it's brought a boom of tourism to the village of Tollesbury in Essex where the marshes were filmed and where Andrew's body was found. The link below has got some gorgeous photos of Tollesbury and the Essex salt marshes (sorry it's The Sun but the pictures are great).

I'll be watching out to see when the film crew return to the village to film the second series!

JaneJeffer · 20/10/2017 09:58

I was thinking about this last night and it occurred to me that the son didn't seem surprised when the police showed up and was a bit shocked when they said they wanted to arrest his dad. Maybe he did it and thought they had found the body? He hadn't reported him missing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2017 12:26

why would the son report dad missing, it was the same /following day p9lice and flashing lights came round

son just said he wasnt there

JaneJeffer · 20/10/2017 12:30

I thought he said he hadn't seen him for three days?

deadringer · 20/10/2017 17:13

Maybe laura's new boyfriend killed Andrew, we know nothing about him after all, he could be a serial killer for all we know.
