GBBO - opinions?

What are people's opinions on the new Bake Off so far? And yes, I know we're only a few minutes in. IMO the new presenters feel a bit like they're trying a little too hard to be Mel and Sue.

I liked it. Especially Noel. I think he'll really add fun to it. Sandi was fine too.

Don't really care about ad breaks, they just don't bother me.

To be honest I'm just glad to never again hear Sue making oh so hilarious noises at the "ready, steady...bake!" bit.

I love Noel, he seems like such a lovely person. I think he could be really great on GBBO and I'm sure in time he will really come into his own. I think this might be his first presenting job, so it's a real learning curve, as it would be for anyone. I just want to have him as my best friend!

Another Noel fan too , he is so likeable and funny and trendy - i have always been a fan and i bet he would be made up that a untrendy fat 52 year old thinks he is great! lol. my son loves him too. ( just hope that the press dont find out lots of bad things about him now..)
he is just different and i like that. Sandi i like too, she seems very funny and i would love to have a drink with both of them. ( will never happen)
i have high hopes this will be a good show. even with the strange Prue woman in it.!!

The80s I am sure you are not untrendy and fat! I'd be devastated if anything bad came out about him, but I don't think it will. He seems really gentle and funny and nice-natured. There's just no arrogance about him at all, unlike so many celebrities.

For me it was the camera work which was whizzing around too fast for my liking. I was dizzy with it. I prefer the BBC steady away camera shots.

I love Pru, she's posh like Mary but there's no side to her. Yes I liked it and I didn't think I would. It must be popular there are 2 threads on here about it!

The make up people have been very busy on this one though, Sandi and Pru looked like they'd been in the hairdresser for hours they were both highlighted to buggery! Paul's hair looked very 'done' too in the early shots. I did think he seemed happier !

I enjoyed more than I thought. I have no clue who that Noel bloke is but he was quite endearing. Prue I liked from Great British Menu anyway.
Sandi is perhaps my least favourite but mainly because of my weird girl crush in Sue Perkins. There's a good, varied bunch if bakers and the older lady is hilarious.

The DC watched it and were a bit confused but still enjoyed it.

Can't be arsed with ad breaks so won't be watching it live.

I watched the first 3ish series on BBC and loved it but then got bored and haven't watched for a few years - only watched the last 15 mins of channel 4 one but like it with fresh faces and probably will give it another try.

Loathe the adverts. It also irritates me that I can't watch it live because of the ads.

Annoyed that history bit has gone.

I will carry on watching but the for me warmth has gone from the show. Hopefully will improve as it progresses.

OMG I agree with the Ops Extra Slice was brilliant! Pru was so brave going on it. I don't remember Mary going on it alone! The others were cheeky to her. She took it very well!

I missed the bit where Peter had put 5 teaspoons of baking powder in his tech. bake cake ! No wonder he was first to go!

I liked it, even though I thought I would not. I agree that it had gone a bit stale on the BBC. What has Sandi done to her hair, she looks like some middle-aged woman from the 50s. I think there is definitely a lack of chemistry between Sandi and Noel. They are like two strangers at a dinner party making polite conversation.

yawning I had forgotten too but it was repeated on E4 yesterday evening. Have a look each night. They seem to be repeating GBBO a lot too. They're really cashing in

I'd recorded extra slice and we watched it last night. It was great to have something that we could all enjoy watching together and that we all laughed out loud to. Those cake fails were hilarious.

Great mix of guests. I hadn't been over keen on Pru when I watched the main programme, but have warmed to her after seeing her on Extra Slice.
