I'm in denial that it is nearly September.

I am looking forward to Flushing Meadows. I feels like ages ages since I was able to 'watch' any tennis.

Yes this year does seem to be going fast - would be good to see Rafa win the Australian again and Wimbledon. Maybe time is finally catching up with Rogbot .

My eldest DS is off to uni this weekend - eek - doesn't seem 5 minutes since he was a baby. We're off to do a practice shopping trip and get his store cupboard items - fun times

Just seen pictures of Serena's baby , Alexis ,(named after her dad)- she's beautiful. Congratulations to them. i hope she takes time to enjoy her baby now, and doesn't rush back to give everyone else a chance.

And I missed the news that Djok is now dad to a baby girl, Tara, so congratulations to him ,Jelena and big brother Stefan. .

The Laver Cup (which is a new tournament this year) teams have been announced- and Roger and Rafa are both playing in the Europe team, which is nice. I think it will be on Sky Sports- but not sure if this mean Eurosport will show it. Bjorn Borg was supposed to be the captain of Europe, but I think it's Enquist now.

looking at the line up- despite the inclusion of the lovely Del Potro in the Rest of the World team- I think Europe have the edge . (Plus, ,ROW are including Kyrgios in the line up, I think. 'nuff said. ).

i have discovered this is on Sky mix. Terrible picture quality though- and a murky coloured court.

Beijing starts today. I liked seeing the pictures of the players in their Chinese jackets. I think Delpo is playing, so I hope he does well. Roger isn't , so Rafa has a chance to cement his place at the top.
