Anyone else looking forward to this?
I like Jodie W since she was in Cranford, and this new 4 part series looks good, plus it has to be an improvement on the rubbish that was on last week in this slot.

Tbh i find Deal or No Deal too stressful to watch so at least I can watch this. I think it's good people are finding it tense, means the writing is effective.

Delatron · 10/08/2017 21:54

Really stressful to watch. Love interest doctor is hot though. Or is it just me?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/08/2017 22:01

Just you @del. I don't do beards 😂😂

Delatron · 10/08/2017 22:33

😂 I love a beard..!

waterlego6064 · 11/08/2017 07:06

It' sounds not just you Delatron; he is hot! I love beards. ❤️

waterlego6064 · 11/08/2017 07:07

That should have said: 'it's not just you'.

The80sweregreat · 11/08/2017 07:12

The odd occasion i have ever watched Deal or no deal, they always end up with 1p after a lot of faffing about and people being physic about what is on the box - then being totally wrong.
As game shows go, that is one of the worst ones.
the love interest is very hot i agree.
I will tune in , if only to see how she gets around the ID requests.

Delatron · 11/08/2017 08:24

I'm only going to keep watching it to perv over beardy doctor...

CurlsandCurves · 11/08/2017 08:57

Re the DBS check, if her friend was subscribed to the Update service she wouldn't have had to produce any documents. Lots of doctors subscribe to the update service as they move jobs so often, it saves having to do a new dbs check every time.

cathyandclare · 11/08/2017 09:08

This stressed me out. I'm a lapsed doctor, working in a non-clinical field ( on register but no practising certificate) and I still regularly have stress dreams where I'm working in a hospital/surgery when I legally shouldn't be.

The first thing that I thought of was references, surely they'd chase those? Then like a PP I thought of central lines and chest drains. A sister on what looked like a medical/ elderly medicine ward would have lots of skills but no amount of googling and revision would prepare you to be a senior doctor in A and E, you need the experience that comes from learning from senior colleagues. She could probably could have bumbled along as an SHO in a medicine for the elderly ward with little suspicion though!

The one thing she definitely would have known was the signs and symptoms of diabetes, why was she researching that?!

< deep breaths> sorry, I know it's a drama and I will keep watching!

User843022 · 11/08/2017 09:30

'She could probably could have bumbled along as an SHO in a medicine for the elderly ward with little suspicion though!'

Yes or a gp, few sicknotes, prescriptions and referrals she could have easily got away with it!

Optimist1 · 11/08/2017 10:01

I fear the BBC are going to disappoint us with this one but will keep watching to the end .

Delatron · 11/08/2017 10:57

I said she'd get away with being a gp. Last time I went they googled in front of me!
All you'd have to do was be over cautious and send anything suspicious for further tests.

TinkerPooks · 11/08/2017 14:52

I absolutely loved the first episode of this. Jodie Whittaker is fantastic, and I cannot wait to see the rest of the series (and Dr Who).

The80sweregreat · 11/08/2017 14:56

Even GP's need to be vetted and the practice manager would have to see ID wouldnt they?
I do agree that she might get away with it a lot more than being on the front line if she did try that instead of a hospital. They seemed tucked away in their little rooms at our practice, you never see them out and about!! ( that if you can see one in the first place, which is a hurdle in itself)

QueenoftheAndals · 11/08/2017 17:24

Delatron beardy doc is a bit of all right, both with and without the beard!

Woah QueenoftheAndals, you may have just ignited a massive crush for me. Can't work out if I prefer with or without the beard. Wonder what else he's been in. Off to stalk...

QueenoftheAndals · 11/08/2017 22:15

I like a beard but cleanshaven is much kinder to the inner thighs Grin

Delatron · 11/08/2017 22:50

True, I think I'd take the hit. Liking the beardy look..
I fear I've derailed this thread with my perving..

cushioncovers · 12/08/2017 08:10

Well this thread has taken a downward dip. GrinGrin

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/08/2017 19:53

def better cleanshaven Grin

SnickersWasAHorse · 12/08/2017 23:02

Beard.

Anyway. I enjoyed it but I do think it is far fetched too. My thought was NI number. Surely payroll would notice something was up there.
That said DH worked for a large company for two years with the wrong NI number. He didn't know until long after he left and he got a tax rebate.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/08/2017 01:19

What was beardy doctor on before?

I enjoyed it!

Hunkle · 13/08/2017 01:37

Beard or no beard. I'll take either.
Not fussy Wink
