Anyone else looking forward to this?
I like Jodie W since she was in Cranford, and this new 4 part series looks good, plus it has to be an improvement on the rubbish that was on last week in this slot.

Yes used I thought the same and posted earlier. Most odd

"Why did she need a fake ID for the child SerfTerf?"

She is going to need the child's birth certificate when her DD starts school, except it will have her 'old' name on it, unless she has one name at school and one name at work.

(I've spent too long thinking about the plot holes!)

Oh I looooooved this mini series! And the ending I didn't see coming! Brilliant! I don't want there to be a second series though, I think it's great as it is and shouldn't be dragged out to it's death. Beardy man is gorgeous and hella sinister. He's seen an opportunity to gain control over Cath/Allie and wtf happened to his wife and kids?

Mrsjohnmurphy · 31/08/2017 11:15

She wouldn't need to change the kids name, had the surname of the father, never had a job where the Identity of my kids was questioned. Beardy psycho got a call from childminder in first EP so kids alive.

Wouldn't she have to do further exams and stuff tho to become a reg/consultant eventually, also someone else is bound to Google her eventually, not really sustainable.

I watched episode one and decided why keep up with it as I could see it was getting stupid like all the other BBC dramas I wasted my time on like The Replacement, amongst others. The only good BBC drama this year has been Broken with Sean Bean and Line of Duty was ok but not as good as previous series.

Italiangreyhound · 31/08/2017 11:45

Mrsjohnmurphy was it from childminder?

Italiangreyhound · 31/08/2017 11:48

used I wondered if he had killed them all and framed someone else, and now replacing wife and child with Ali and Molly.

But that's just fantasy.....

Thanks, Italian.

I was really disappointed with the end of this. Karl was the only character I could feel any sympathy for. Yes, he'd been unreliable and a bit crap but he was making an effort and clearly wanted a good relationship with his daughter. He died with everyone thinking he'd been violent towards Cath when it seemed that this was just another one of her lies. The beardy dr wouldn't have gone for him if Cath hadn't have told him that.

I get the reasons why she started off on the lie but she became so used to being deceitful and dishonest it was laughable every time she wittered on about not being a liar and not trusting people.

And her speech to Karen about keeping her head down because the truth wasn't important annoyed me too. I get she was making a point about how standing up and telling the truth had cost her before but by the end she'd just gotten so used to it all it was like she'd lost all morality whatsoever.

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 01/09/2017 09:42

And AND how she was so able to keep it up when she was asked who Karl was when he was rushed in and she was so able to just keep saying 'he saved my daughter' and not let slip he was Molly's dad. Cold.

This has irritated me so much. I might need a lie down.

Italiangreyhound · 01/09/2017 10:18

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer I am not sure beardy killed Karl, but even if he did I think it was fear he would expose Cath and cost beardy his new family!

I'm having a lo e down right now! Grin

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 03/09/2017 12:16

Just finished it.

If he had drawn up the injection to kill Carl then why didn't she look in the sharps bin for a full syringe?
And the fact that he even thought and got as far as doing that would be enough for me to question my relationship.

I agree that the missing family is suspicious. No contact with the children, they don't even seem to have a bedroom in his flat. (Not that we saw all the rooms but there wasn't much space).
