HBO description of the episode: Daenerys holds court. Cersei returns a gift. Jaime learns from his mistakes.

Please avoid discussing leaks and production details for Seasons 7 and 8 but speculate away on what we have learnt from the new episodes and what it might mean for the rest of the Season and the ultimate winner(s) of the Game of Thrones Smile

I'm with you on the Sansa theories too. I feel sorry for her for what she's gone through, but I've never much liked her and I didn't like Kat much either. They've both got a selfish, cold side to them.

The divorce is off I presume??? That's funny he does look seriously odd, I take it Meera cuts his hair.

Trills · 04/08/2017 15:24

Mustang Sansa - a variant on Mustang Sally?

"Bran's transportation" is a role with very few lines, sadly.

AryaUnderfoot · 04/08/2017 15:33

I adore book Sansa. For a 55+ year-old man with no children to be able to write a pre-teen girl so accurately is very impressive.

I've always suspected she's going to have a really important non-magical part to play in the final books. There has been lots made of the fact that the final harvests of the Autumn have been totally buggered up by the wars and fields of crops have been left utterly ruined. Aside from the war against the Others, the 7 kingdoms are going to be in the grips of major famine. The only major exception to this has been the Vale, which has kept out of the war. The Winds of Winter sample Alayne chapter hints that LIttlefinger is hoarding grain and I think she's always been set to be the one to take him down.

Show Sansa has been unwatchable for the last couple of seasons. Her storyline is marginally better this season, but I odn't think it's ever helped by Sophie's terrible interviews abotu what a 'badass' Sansa is.

I don't think she'll betray Jon in the book or show. In the books she's learning what it means to be a bastard, and it's given her a new perspective on the world.

Yamayo · 04/08/2017 16:05

I'm with you I've always loved book Sansa. She is Sam- like in that she's underestimated by everyone and yet she's so determined to survive.
She's also developed this huge nostalgia for the North and her lost family (including Jon) and she's completely realised what a brat she used to be.

I want to like show Sansa and she has her moments but like show Jon she has been dumbed down dramatically.

I'd love Sansa to be all right and happy (or even just not be hurt by someone for a little while as realistically it is GoT), I just personally don't like her.

AryaUnderfoot · 04/08/2017 17:28

....I just watched episode 4....

It's very good.

ElenaGreco123 · 04/08/2017 17:57

How exciting!

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 04/08/2017 18:29

How?!!

twattymctwatterson · 04/08/2017 18:29

@AryaUnderfoot I came here to say the same- it's up there in the top 5 episodes for me. I take it you are on Freefolk?

WingMirrorSpider · 04/08/2017 18:38

Yes the episode's been leaked apparently. Imwsiting for Sunday/Monday though as I darent watch pirated stuff. I'm paranoid the Feds will come knocking like in the Matrix.

AryaUnderfoot · 04/08/2017 18:42

Google 'Reddit freefolk'. The entire page is full of links. Some of the vids keep getting taken down but new links appear all the time. Click on enough and you'll find one that works.

The entire page is full of season spoilers so search at your peril!

twatty I felt very conflicted watching the last 15 minutes. I think it perfectly captured GRRM's feelings about war.

I loved the grammar correction (hope that's not too much of a spoiler).

Whaambulance · 04/08/2017 18:58

I didn't like Sansa at first, then I realised I had forgotten how young she is, just 13 at the start, and only 14 when she married Tyrion. I do think that she has developed as a character, she was so naïve and she's watched, listened and learned from some of the most influential characters. She knows how her enemies think, and I think she is keeping littlefinger close on purpose. Keeping her friends close and her enemies closer. She would rather have him on her side than working again her.

ElenaGreco123 · 04/08/2017 19:06

Thanks Arya. I have read some of the spoilers. I have heard some of them before somehow. Possibly in Emergency Awesome's predictions. Looks like it will be the money shot episode.

While googling I found evidently totally made up spoilers. They were quite entertaining. Fan fiction can be good.

BossyBitch · 04/08/2017 19:48

Could we perhaps have an EP4 thread for those of us who've seen it so we don't spoil the rest of the posters?

I agree that it's good. Best this season so far IMO.

Yamayo · 04/08/2017 19:48

I am so annoyed abroad for 4 weeks don't know if I will be able to watch anything...
And I'll have to avoid reading the next few threads which is half the fun of watching the show...

AryaUnderfoot · 04/08/2017 19:50

Shall I create a thread?

BossyBitch · 04/08/2017 19:51

Arya, I'd say so ... lot's of stuff to discuss, but it'd really be a bit unfair to do it on here, I suppose?

OlennasWimple · 04/08/2017 21:04

I can't get the links to work so I'm going to stop trying (and avoid Reddit for the weekend because it's full of discussion and speculation and try-hard "I think this might possibly happen in the next episode" posts...)
