I am so annoyed that they thought it was ok to plonk an ed Sheeran cameo in game of thrones. Like another poster said... it was like a really bad, unfunny comic relief sketch!

Other than that I liked the episode very much!
I really hope that Nymeria meets up with Arya at some point!
I think Jaime and Tyrion (if they meet again) will be so interesting! Like Cersei said: he killed their father all because Jaime let him go... wonder if he will still have big love for his little brother?!

honeyroar · 18/07/2017 10:39

Id like to see Jon, Tyrion, Jamie, Sam meet up and get their heads together. I reckon they'd get a decent plan together (and Danerys would insist on being there too!). I like Ayra, Sansa, Brienne and the mountain too, but they aren't forward thinking enough, they're stuck in revenge and tradition, not forward thinking.

I thought it bad enough T that Ed Sheeren was let on Glastonbury, this beats that!

nigelsbigface · 18/07/2017 10:56

I really fancied Euron.

I don't even remember the hound stealing from that house.when was that?

Arya-Go on that girl!

I didn't even mind Ed Sheeran.

I'm dying to see Gendry.

Sam looked like he'd lost a bit of weight round the face, and all the better for it.

Good stuff...looking forward to next week.

Thanks!

I just rewatched Blush- yes the dialogue was dreadful in some places, I cringed at the Ned Umber/Alice Karstark scene, and why were they even there?

I hope it's not going to turn into every other show on tv where they just want to please the fans or act like we're stupid, I think we love it because it doesn't always give us what we want and wrap things up in a pretty bow!

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 18/07/2017 11:40

Don't know why it didn't occur to anyone that there might be dragonglass on Dragonstone. Seems a tad obvious Grin

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 18/07/2017 11:42

In the book it would make sense for alys karstark to be there, she escaped from a forced marriage and went to the wall for help.
Ned umber otoh, hasn't showed up in the books at all

AdalindSchade · 18/07/2017 11:50

They could have brought umber and karstark out from the dungeons to swear and it would have made more sense

OlennasWimple · 18/07/2017 12:19

We saw Jorah's arm and profile and he spoke, so it was enough to confirm his identity

Apart from the epic battle scenes, it occurs to me that we have seen and heard almost everything from the two trailers already

OP posts:
DispatchReady · 18/07/2017 12:48

Agree Adalinde they could be "wards" which would make sense.

In next week's trailer Arya comes face to face with a direwolf...

BlondieJ · 18/07/2017 13:21

@DispatchReady just what I've been waiting for! Love the Direwolves

Just watched the trailer... who is Yara getting kissed by? Is it Ellaria Sand?

DispatchReady · 18/07/2017 13:24

Yes I think it is.

BlondieJ · 18/07/2017 13:28

Sorry, just thought perhaps I shouldn't have posted that as some people may not want to look at the trailer and see what's coming up?!

Puffpaw · 18/07/2017 13:43

My money is on Dany and Jamie getting together and Jamie killing cersei, once she has killed or attempted to kill Tyrion who is brought to her by euron. Euron bringing Tyrian to kings landing draws dany there sooner, as she mounts a rescue, Jamie falls in love with her as she saves tyrion. Dany likes muscly men. See the prophecy which said all of cersei children would die and a younger more beautiful queen would take over and her younger brother would strangle her after she drowned in her tears.
Jon will die because he has missed the political implications of something, or perhaps for the greater good. Sansa will run the north, possibly with Tyrion if he survives. Lord baelish will meet a sticky end, dirty old perv.

Lol i thought the Ed Sheeran bit was actually so bad it was good. You could sort of tell he knew he was crap just from watching him. Other actors werent much better. Comic relief though quite welcome between all the death and shit imo.

Euron is a tosser, which probably means he'll be just as destructive and vindictive as Joffrey or Ramsey Bolton. Didnt like the actor who plays him in Borgen either. If he kills Yara i'll probably cancel my Now TV subscripton there and then.

I really admire Emilia Clarke for her calm, measured portrayal of Daenerys. Wonder how much yoga it takes to become so serene in the face of danger? Grin

AWendyAteMyFitbit · 18/07/2017 13:51

Omg just caught up with this. I was one that preferred the books but this season is so good. I might have just had a little wee from excitement. And I've had cesarians. Great television.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 18/07/2017 13:53

Dispatch I'm assuming that's Nymeria, which will be very exciting! This series needs more Direwolves

I am so annoyed that they thought it was ok to plonk an ed Sheeran cameo in game of thrones. Like another poster said... it was like a really bad, unfunny comic relief sketch!

Agreed. There have been various 'cameos' from British actors throughout the series (off the top of my head - Mark Gatiss, Kevin Eldon, Richard E Grant, lots of musicians) and none of them clunked like this, probably because they're actual actors and not brought in just for the novelty! But I managed to get over the ridiculous survival of Arya last season so I'll just ignore it

Also, I love Tormund and his heart eyes for Brienne Grin I think it's more than just attraction, I think he genuinely admires her abilities and fighting skills

Also, when did Euron Greyjoy join an early 2000's emo band!

AWendyAteMyFitbit · 18/07/2017 14:18

And touching the sand like William the conquerer, oh my days...

TizzyDongue · 18/07/2017 14:52

Euron made me feel id know what Eddie Izzard would be like as a 80/90s rock star.

That's an absolutely bang on description of he Ed Sheeran scene: comic relief sketch. It'd be ok if he'd just been a background character.

Is he less know in USA?

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 18/07/2017 14:53

I'm sure I remember reading that mark gatiss is back in this season. Don't forget, mad queen cersei owes the iron bank a little bit of money... Unless that has sailed off with the forgotten storylines Grin

ElspethFlashman · 18/07/2017 15:05

I hated that Euron had a much different accent from everyone else in the Iron Islands. Obvs I know the actor is Danish or something but IMO you shouldn't cast someone with an obviously different accent as it's so incongruous. The actor who plays Jaime is from - well actually I'm not sure where but English is definitely his second language and his accent is almost undetectable.

It just looks odd when it's that different to supoosed members of his own family.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 18/07/2017 15:26

Elspeth I couldn't figure out what Euron's accent was - I thought I heard slight Northern Irish tones at one point but obviously not! Confused The actor who plays Jaime is Danish

AryaUnderfoot · 18/07/2017 15:26

It just looks odd when it's that different to supoosed members of his own family.

A bit like Jon Snow and all the other Stark kids then. Maybe it's something to do with him being a bastard Hmm

The accent is the least of my problems with Euron. He is just a bit..... crap. In the books he always comes across as being seriously horrible (on the Ramsey end of the scale). Show Euron just doesn't cut it.

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 18/07/2017 15:26

I guess if Euron has been sailing the world for years, it can explain him having a different accent?
