Tim gives Feds advice on buying skiing chalets or boring investment opportunities in Switzerland..

bookbook · 14/07/2017 17:23

yes!!! - close set mind

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:24

Yes! Roger quite lucky there, as his serve isn't great today. He can't afford any loose points in this match.

bookbook · 14/07/2017 17:24

They used to practice together I think ?

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 17:24

Thanks Raahh I'll probably be pronouncing it all wrong Grin

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:26

Very close set, far closer than I expected. I hope Berdych can keep it that way. I want a good match.

What's Boris getting at ?!

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:29

I think Tim actually has a winning record against Roger!

SueMacartney · 14/07/2017 17:31

I didn't know that about Tim and Feds, that's quite sweet. I like Tim a lot more since he's been commentating.

bookbook · 14/07/2017 17:36

Is that Ken Rosewall they keep showing? Used to be my DM's favourite

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:39

I never really watched Tim much when he played, I was always watching someone else.

His very best chance really came in 2001- in the constantly rain delayed match against Goran. Of course, Goran then went on to play in one of the most emotional finals, on the Monday.

I remember the Goran final on the Monday. I had a dentist appointment in the middle of it and had to record the match (on a VCR - it was the olden days!) how long ago is that?

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:44

It's one of my biggest regrets I missed that final. I was a trainee teachers at time, so I couldn't take the Monday off work. And then there was no highlights show, because it was a Monday! I still brood about it every Wimbledon or every time I see Goran. I don't think I'll ever get over it!

Fizzywinegum · 14/07/2017 17:45

Poor creme Sad

Fizzywinegum · 14/07/2017 17:46

Wow that long ago!

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:47

As you can see, it's really affected me!!

The80sweregreat · 14/07/2017 17:47

They took Eastenders off for Tim. Such was the love.
I like him, he would be good on strictly too.

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:52

I really liked Pat Rafter at the time, but I was so pleased to when Goran won. It was an amazing match.

Oh Stefan. Grin

I'm sure I watched the 2001 final but I can't figure out how I wasn't at work.

Raahh · 14/07/2017 18:10

At the time, I worked for John Lewis, and we still didn't open on Mondays at that point (and I didn't work Sunday's).

And I'd taken Wimbledon second week off as holiday Grin.

Raahh · 14/07/2017 18:11

(Some branches did open Monday, in 2001, I know, but not the one I worked in Grin).

phew - another set

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 18:19

Berdych's team are a right bunch of hipsters.

Fizzywinegum · 14/07/2017 18:20

Good planning Raahh! I used to book time off from work for Wimbledon but it would always rain and I'd spend my time watching endless reruns of matches from bygone days.

Looks inevitable that Federer will win this one but some good tennis from both of them
