Every time there's a thread about people saying "cheer up, it'll never happen" and "give us a smile" the responses are near unanimous. It's not a woman's job to smile to keep others happy Grin

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 16:51

It was in response to the slagging she got in the papers for swearing so I think it was great. I like the Murrays anyway.

bookbook · 14/07/2017 16:52

Gosh Roger is just a joy to watch - not that Berdych is playing badly

Dumbledoresgirl · 14/07/2017 16:52

I do too Jane (not that I know them or anything!)

I wish the commentators would stop going on about how incredible Federer is for his age, as though he were 62. He is only 35 fgs. He's a baby still.

The80sweregreat · 14/07/2017 16:55

Feds is geriatric in tennis terms! Unless your Fereder of course.
He looks invincible.

AmIthatbloodycold · 14/07/2017 16:55

Me too Jane

It was a perfectly intelligent nose-thumbing towards the press. Well played that woman Smile

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:03

the media started writing Fed's retirement speech the year he turned 30.

Then he won Wimbledon again, just before.

So, it was a bit premature. Grin

Stan didn't start winning til late.

Players are maturing later now. And Roger has been very lucky his injuries have come Kate in his career of course. Delpo , for example, should be a multi slam champion by now, really, but for injuries.

Hmm, not so invincible now....

SueMacartney · 14/07/2017 17:04

Yes I liked Kim's response too. A polite "fuck you" to the press.

Goran seems to have a sense of humour - he once did that thing with Miranda for comic/sport relief so it's not impossible to see him on strictly...?!

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:04

Kate?!Grinlate.

Ooh, a break. It's all gone quiet out there.

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 17:06

Federer never seems to get injured as much as the other players. I don't know how he does it.

Come on Tomas!

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:07

Sue the sport relief thing was fab. He was gorgeous.Grin
Federer's Field (?) Grinlooking busy. And warm. Raining here today. I should put my pool out, it might fill it.

It's bloody freezing here the last couple of days.

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:11

Allez Roger! Although he went off the boil and bit there, in the game he lost in which he lost his serve.

Totally agree about Del Potro. He was a better player than Murray when they were younger, IMO. That U.S. Open should have been the first of many, if injuries hadn't interfered.Sad

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 17:15

What's the Czech for come on I wonder? Grin

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:17

Creme Delpo is lovely to watch, when he's playing well, he is amazing. And is far more than just a big serve. I hoped the end of last year signalled the start of good thins. But it's not happened yet.

Andrew Castle sounds like a stalker. No-one has rung him and filled him in on Murray's injury progress, it seems Grin.

The80sweregreat · 14/07/2017 17:18

Feds on strictly would be good. I can see him in tails.
Sports people do well usually.

The80sweregreat · 14/07/2017 17:19

Castle checking his phone for Murray updates on the Hip.
Murray has his one blocked!

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:19

Ha! I was thinking that about him too. I think he realised he sounded a bit weird too, when Tim and Boris didn't say anything.

I just love watching Roger at the net. Credit to Stefan for bringing him back to serve and volley.

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:20

Jane I did know that, I googled it for a Kvitova match once.

Can't remember now! Grin

JaneJeffer · 14/07/2017 17:20

You could kind of hear the how would I know in Tim's replyGrin

bookbook · 14/07/2017 17:20

It's come on Roger here ... but I wish Tim wasn't so obviously a mate of Rogers

Raahh · 14/07/2017 17:21

It's something like pojd me, iirc.

(apologies to Czech thread watchers).

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 14/07/2017 17:21

Tim and Boris were rolling their eyes when he wasnt looking.
Murray is old news already!
Enough Castle. His out mate.

CremeEggThief · 14/07/2017 17:23

I was surprised when I learned how friendly Tim and Roger are, and few years ago, as Tim is about 7 years older than him. I wonder how they become friends?
