Tennis Tennis Tennis

Am most excited & thought the grass needs a new thread.

I'll stick my neck out & say Fed to win the mens' & Carolina Plisshkova (sp?) for the womens'.

Qui fortunately , it's not on on a SundayGrin. They like to rest the grass.

I think the BBC1/2 thing is more people will watch 1 rather than 2, and traditionally it's the main channel. It does seem daft, in this multi-channel satellite age, though.

Berdych has beaten FerrerSad . I fear Ferrer's days as a top contender are over.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 16:50

And Querrey has beaten Tsonga, which is a blow.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 17:08

Muguruza is through, which is great. She's not had the best year so far.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 17:12

Hold on a minute, Mac- what if Murray decides he needs his hip looking at during a match now? That 'injury' existed pre-tournament. Or is it different for different players?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/07/2017 17:18

Tsonga is out, what a shame.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/07/2017 17:19

I can't find the Clare/Rafa interview anywhere Sad
I think it's blacked out for North America.

bookbook · 08/07/2017 17:20

I came home and settled down to watch the Gulbis/Djok match, it had only just nicely started , but I'm finding it rather boring - so much so, I keep on getting up and finding things to do .....
Shame about Tsonga

Raahh · 08/07/2017 17:24

I was just looking to see if it was anywhere, Hearts and found a picture of Rafa signing a bloke's prosthetic leg, after his match against Brown. Apparently the man had already taken it off. And he was asked if it was the strangest thing he'd ever signed, and coyly said 'probably not' Grin

MirandaWest · 08/07/2017 17:27

Have been enjoying the afternoon on the sofa watching Wimbledon :)

Went there about 10 years ago and had a wonderful time. Dh says we might go next year (which would be labour of love for him but i think he would do it for me).

Am sorry Tsonga has gone out. Not sure who I'd like to win this year.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 08/07/2017 18:11

Was so bored of the Djok match that I watched Wozniacki instead - is unheard of for me to choose women's tennis but it was very good!

Now waiting to see if Federer can make things more exciting...

Djokovic has a very smug face.

bookbook · 08/07/2017 19:10

well, switched on the Federer/Zverev game just now far more interesting!
Roger reminds me of the feeling I always had with Bjorn Borg in that I always felt he would win, even from the most dire positions he was in

bookbook · 08/07/2017 19:22

what a joy to see a bit of serve and volley - making Roger work

SanFranBear · 08/07/2017 19:33

Enjoying Roger Smile

Sad to hear about Tonga Sad

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2017 19:58

Good doubles match. I have a soft spot for Willis after last year.

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2017 20:14

Wow! The wild cards have beaten the defending champions!

Raahh · 08/07/2017 20:17

Well done to Willis!

And Roger. Mirka didn't look that thrilled.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 20:20

Courtney annoyed me really. And the whole hippy thing. He has put 3 totally different people together- and again, what a random song. Love it, but random.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 20:21

Try picking a song 11 year olds might know, Danny.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 20:22

I though he was holding a bottle of beer then.

DD1, who is the same age as these children,, is too embarrassed to watchGrin

Raahh · 08/07/2017 20:23

Courtney is just odd. Not quirky, just odd.

Raahh · 08/07/2017 20:24

Ignore all hose poss, which should have been on he Voice thread Grin

Raahh · 08/07/2017 21:35

I enjoyed Boris on 'Today a Wimbledon' talking about Novak.
I do wonder if he wanted to end things, he seems a little frustrated by him. And very fond of him. I read elsewhere, that Novak, famous for his diet etc, also has people in his camp who were quite 'spiritual' in outlook. Boris doesn't doesn't seem the type to put up with spiritual shit That won't win matches. (I can imagine Andre is more inclined to the waffly and performance enhancing ).

Raahh · 08/07/2017 21:44

Also nice to see a video from Bethanie M_S, who must be heart broken by her injury.

Kerber is playing Muguruza next- big match, but I hope Gabine can get through.

magimedi · 08/07/2017 22:19

I don't normally comment on outfit's - but Mirka's irises?????????
