Anyone else watching tonight?

(Ireland apparently gets Wednesday episodes instead.
No spoilers, please!).

I think they maybe don't have the sounds of the fight going on when they are filming with the children so all it is is someone kicking the door and nothing actually scary.

SirVixofVixHall · 26/05/2017 19:13

The sound effects for the kissing were insanely loud. This seems to be a strange trend of late, freakishly loud smacking kissy kissy noises added on by the sound dept, to every kissing scene. Who on God's earth kisses like that?

Inkanta · 26/05/2017 20:01

Quite intriguing story line. The white van man is obviously a bit of a psycho with anger issues. He (the actor) played Albert in Victoria I realise and his speciality is still bed scenes.

Elendon · 27/05/2017 09:59

Very sinister storyline and I'm wondering too about the bizarre set up in the psycho's house.

Probably will watch if only to find out what's going to happen. I suspect handsome detective will save the day in the basement. With lead piping being involved. Smile

ASauvingnonADay · 27/05/2017 10:53

I'm only halfway through the first episode but enjoying it!

Dizzywizz · 28/05/2017 06:39

Really enjoyed it, thanks to bring my attention to it or would have missed it. A bit confusing though!

The80sweregreat · 28/05/2017 08:32

I thought it was good, the men in it were very convincing - violent though so not for everyone but the acting was good and nice to see something made on location in Ireland instead of london.

Ugh yes I thought it was just me with the overly loud kissing noises. Was a bit upset at the sobbing toddler (gf2"s child) those kind of wracking sobs after a very long cry Sad

Not sure yet, I enjoyed it even if it was a bit strange will need to watch a bit more.

SirVixofVixHall · 30/05/2017 12:36

Yes, the sobbing toddler really got to me too. Those exhausted gulpy sobs, they always upset me. I just wanted to cuddle her.

cheesydoesit · 31/05/2017 13:29

Just finishing the first episode now, looking forward to the next one! All of the adults in it appear to be fuck ups one way or another. Yeah, it was horrible hearing the toddler cry. James' situation with his sister wives is beyond dysfunctional. I am guessing that his mother had some sort of inappropriate relationship or at least exposed him to inappropriate stuff when he was a child. He seems to hate her but is also very bonded, still visits, holding hands etc. We shall see...!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 31/05/2017 22:15

Just watched this.
Sinister & violent but I'm intrigued and will watch the next episode!

I'm a bit confused about the set up with James and his 2 women & the children too.
Feel sorry for Paula already - what a mess!

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 01/06/2017 10:09

So...anyone want to make predictions for what craziness will unfold tonight?

My latest unlikely but then so is hallucination of scary, sewn-up mouth, Horror Girl haunting your white van to start with theory is that she's symbolic: said girl (or someone she represents) was 'silenced' (i.e. murdered)/ threatened not to 'speak out' about something awful.

May or may not be connected to the fact that James's mother in nursing home also appears unable to speak. Hmm

And I hope to God no more people or rats are graphically bludgeoned to death...

It's fab but it's also got more holes than Swiss cheese.

Put some BLOODY LIGHTS ON for a start. Not to mention that you don't go back home to a creepy Victorian house with apparently no lightbulbs when a complete psycho is on the loose. And the copper wouldn't have walked out and left her there alone either.

Cagliostro · 01/06/2017 21:44

Hadn't heard about this, thanks!

alabasterangel · 01/06/2017 22:00

I'm utterly confused.

MadameSzyszkoBohush · 01/06/2017 22:07

I found this really weird, but maybe it's just not my cup of tea.
Do you think they added his explanation of his accent to cover up the fact that he can't do an Irish accent?

Livedandlearned · 01/06/2017 22:08

I reckon James lived in her home as a child, or knew her when she was a child. He wants revenge for something she or her brother has done. Maybe.

I'm looking forward to finding out why he lived with the two women. The violence is a bit much though.

alabasterangel · 01/06/2017 22:21

So right at the end he said 'she's done it to you too, she's showed you the steps out of hell and into the light' - what was that about? Is it something to do with the rope round the neck or a sex fetish type thing? We're missing something obvious I think.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/06/2017 22:25

I'm even more confused after this episode. Is James in custody now? Is there a third episode to come, or is that it?

stonecircle · 01/06/2017 22:33

There is a third and final episode.

Clawdy · 01/06/2017 22:34

This episode was too violent and dark for me, there were bits I couldn't bear to watch. That horrific scene in the awful flat, and then that final scene......it's going a bit beyond......well-acted and well-written though.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/06/2017 22:36

It was completely unbelievable for me,I got bored . It was so violent too.

Christmastree43 · 01/06/2017 22:41

Omg I absolutely loved this! Loved the weirdness and the so much that isn't being said - makes your mind run all over! So clever I thought

The violence is shocking but I think serves its purpose. The knife in the eye was a bit too much for me 🤢 But think it may be symbolic

millifiori · 01/06/2017 23:24

What on earth was going on at the end of second episode? One minute policeman is missing an eye and rolling round half dead. Next minute he's trotting round the hospital car park with two eyes trying to talk to Paula who's being bundled into a police car in a silver blanket. Why isn't he having his eye stitched up? How did it miraculously heal?
