SPOILER WARNING

Anyone else who is eagerly awaiting the start of the next season and want to chat about predictions and theories for what is going to happen as the Game of Thrones draws to a conclusion over the next two series?

Spoilers inevitable, as it's almost impossible to look forward without looking back at what has happened in the show already. But please mark spoilers about leaks relating to Seasons 7 and 8 in case some pp don't want to see photos and things ahead of the show.

So, who is going to win the Game and who is going to die? Share your thoughts, theories and crazy tinfoil hat suggestions here!

MaQueen I'm not surprised at those ages at all.

I think the book series represent a world where children grow up very fast and adults die young. I've just re-read the scene where Jon and Ygritte are at Queenscrown and Ygritte kills the 'old man' who was sheltering in the village. Jon several times that he is an old man. At one point he remark that the man is 50, maybe even 60, and has lived a longer life than most.

I'm certainly not going to consider myself an old woman at 50!

Zed our current construction of childhood is pretty recent.

In the absence of modern medicine, most people used to die well before they were 50. So you needed to be popping out babies as soon as possible.

My old HV told me that 15/16 was an ideal time (physically) to have a baby.

Thanks for the buzz feed link brie - totally missed Jorah's manky arm! And so much more...it's going to be sooo good!

ZedWoman · 14/06/2017 15:12

Just came across this link on Reddit/freefolk and thought I'd share it here:

I love hearing the actors' genuine accents...

Rory looks 10 years younger without that horrible season 6 Quiet Isle look....

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 07:46

Thanks Zed, I loved watching those. I am fond of some of the characters they play (I have a soft spot for The Hound). Sadly I don't have Sky so will have to wait until (a) it comes out on boxed set at my library (at least a year if I'm lucky) or (b) my DD's boyfriend will copy it for me onto a CD Grin. Talk about deferred gratification!

ZedWoman · 15/06/2017 12:45

Talk about deferred gratification!

I have heard a horrible rumour that S8 is not going to air until spring 2019. I'm really hoping it's not true...

GoldenKelpie

Get a NOW TV box. Here's one with a three month Entertainment sub for less than £15.

www.amazon.co.uk/NOW-TV-Month-Entertainment-Pass/dp/B013SGATVC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1497540740&sr=1-1&keywords=now+tv&tag=mumsnetforum-21

You'll be able to watch Game Of Thrones and loads of other stuff.

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 16:43

You can watch Sky with that? Hmm, I didn't realise. Will have a look into it. Thanks, 29Palms Smile.

AdalindSchade · 15/06/2017 16:52

You have to pay for the entertainment package but you can probably get a months free pass then you can cancel when the series is finished

29Palms · 15/06/2017 17:55

The Entertainment sub is £6.99 per month, but you can cancel when your three month voucher is about to expire.

You can also buy vouchers on Ebay cheaper. I recently bought a 5 month voucher code for £18, so half price. I've never paid a sub, I just buy a voucher code when I want to. The seller emails you the code. No risk because Ebay would refund you if it didn't work, but I always check the feedback anyway.

I have heard a horrible rumour that S8 is not going to air until spring 2019.

Nooooo! Is GRRM writing it then? Wink

Does this link work?

ZedWoman · 21/06/2017 21:25

I think this is the right one:

ElenaGreco123 · 21/06/2017 21:53

Oh wow. Thanks for posting that. I'll have to find a screen by screen analysis for that.

OlennasWimple · 21/06/2017 22:20

Emergency Awesome has just put out an analysis YouTube video. Nothing from Alt Shift X yet (my favourite)

Thanks Olenna. Watched it Grin

Can't wait to see Casterly Rock.

ZedWoman · 22/06/2017 08:31

"When the snow falls and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives". I love that line. I'm so glad it's finally made it into the show and that Sansa is the one delivering it.

I know he should be dead, but............ Beric's flaming sword!!!!

BeyondOfbob · 25/06/2017 19:45
