SPOILER WARNING

Anyone else who is eagerly awaiting the start of the next season and want to chat about predictions and theories for what is going to happen as the Game of Thrones draws to a conclusion over the next two series?

Spoilers inevitable, as it's almost impossible to look forward without looking back at what has happened in the show already. But please mark spoilers about leaks relating to Seasons 7 and 8 in case some pp don't want to see photos and things ahead of the show.

So, who is going to win the Game and who is going to die? Share your thoughts, theories and crazy tinfoil hat suggestions here!

Woah! Reading this in bed on my phone in the dark and the vid really spooked me!

WHY ISN'T IT JULY???

MaQueen · 24/05/2017 16:17

I've just finished re-reading all the books for the third time [takes a bow] and have July 16th highlighted on my calendar Smile

Anyone else think that TV Sansa is pregnant with Ramsey's baby? Just before he dies, when she tells him he will be forgotten, he smiles and tells her 'I am part of you now'... Hmm

Also think that Sansa is going to let LF think she's falling for him, but at the very end she will turn on him. She clearly wasn't pleased when Jon was being hailed 'King in the North' when she is the eldest, remaining Stark from the male line, and Jon is only a bastard Stark from the female line.

I would love Jaime to end up with Brienne, but GRRM is too ruthless for that. I suspect Jamie will kill Cersei, but then kill himself in remorse.

An obvious solution would be for Jon to marry Dany (yeah, I know he's her nephew but this is GoTs, after all) and for them to take the Iron Throne together.

OlennasWimple · 24/05/2017 16:28

I wondered that about Sansa, Maqueen - she mentions that she is sewing a new dress (why mention it? Other than to imply that she needs a new one because the old ones don't fit?). And she's pretty well wrapped up in the final scenes, so we can't tell if she might be carrying or not

Presumably her access to moontea would have been pretty limited when she was being held by Ramsey

OP posts:
MaQueen · 24/05/2017 16:40

Ooh, had forgotten her mention of making a new dress...very telling.

Yes, I would assume that Ramsey would want her pregnant as soon as possible, to consolidate his claim to the North (then presumably murder her once he had his heir?).

AdalindSchade · 24/05/2017 16:52

Sansa doesn't know Jon isn't her brother yet though. She knows her position as a woman is lower than Jon as a bastard. I don't think she was resenting that really.

MaQueen · 24/05/2017 16:57

Yes, true, she still thinks he's her bastard brother. But, I would think that her claim as a legitimate DD of Ned Stark would make hers the stronger claim?

There's just that lingering look between her and LF, when Jon's being acclaimed.

OlennasWimple · 24/05/2017 17:30

True born girls come before (unlegitimised) male bastards in the line of succession. But Sansa had already given Jon Ned and Catelyn's old room to sleep in before DaKingInDaNorf scene, so I took that as meaning that she accepted that he would take priority.

OP posts:
MaQueen · 24/05/2017 17:59

I think she had accepted it, because she's been so used to having no authority and being passed from pillar to post. But, then I think because of LF's comments she's starting to see herself in a new light.

That smile she had on her face as she listened to Ramsey being eaten alive was quite sinister...

AdalindSchade · 24/05/2017 18:32

I may be optimistic but I thought/hoped Sansa's look to littlefinger was a fuck you look. Littlefinger definitely didn't look pleased.

ZedWoman · 24/05/2017 18:43

The great fly in the ointment will be when/if Bran returns to Winterfell. OK, so it means poor old Meera dragging him across half the north during the season, but this is the series where Varys can teleport across Essos and back in one episode...

He's got to make it to Winterfell eventually - someone has got to tell Jon that R+L=J.

Bran's claim to the north trumps both Jon's and Sansa's.

I don't think they mentioned Robb's will at all in the show did they?

ZedWoman · 24/05/2017 18:46

New production stills released. Drogon looks mahoossive!

Now, what song do we think Ed Sheeran is going to sing to Arys? My money's on 'My featherbed is deep and soft...'

ZedWoman · 24/05/2017 18:56

Has anyone else seen the new trailer?

Does this link even work?

So excited now...

Marking my place to have a good catch up :)

ThatItBe · 24/05/2017 20:38

Was Sansa snogging someone in that clip?

MaQueen · 24/05/2017 20:42

But can Bran be allowed to become King in the North when he (possibly) is unable to father an heir (assuming he is totally paralysed from the waist down?).

I think Sansa may well lead LF on, before betraying him when he puts her where she wants to be?

ZedWoman · 24/05/2017 20:45

Was Sansa snogging someone in that clip?

I thought so too at first but couldn't quite make it out.

The general agreement on other forums is that it's Yara and Elllaria (as predicted by one of the 'leakers' earlier this year).

If this proves that the 'leaker' is genuine and they are right about everything, then some of the scenes this season are going to be cringeworthy.

MaQueen · 24/05/2017 20:55

I've watched the clip 3 times and can't work out who is snogging who Confused

ZedWoman · 24/05/2017 20:57

MaQueen don't know about Bran being KitN in his current state. In the books Rickon returning from Skagos with Davos would complicate things even more but this is show so anything can happen...

Personally, I think political power gained through a political marriage is the last thing that Sansa will EVER want again (books or show).

WorshipTheGourd · 24/05/2017 21:01

I was thinking of watching this from the beginning (I've never seen it).
Someone said I reminded them of one of the characters and I am now desperate to find out who... (it sounds very complicated?)

MaQueen · 24/05/2017 21:04

I was wondering about Dickon, too? They've killed him off on TV, but just can't think how GRRM would work him back into the books (assuming he ever actually finishes the next one).

I agree, I think that Sansa will want to go it alone. Though, have heard rumours that she might get together with Jon Snow...

OlennasWimple · 24/05/2017 21:08

Wow! Loving the trailer - presumably Grey Worm is undressing to get jiggy with Missendrei...?

King in the North is slightly different from Lord of Winterfell, isn't it? (Even if the previous kings had all been Starks) There hadn't been a King in the North for many many years until Robb proclaimed himself King to ride against Joffrey

AFAIA being able to have children (or not) isn't a criteria for ruling, unless it comes down to trying to get support for your claim over someone else's: "support me and I will establish a long and prosperous reign; support them and when their line dies with them the kingdom will once again be plunged into war"

Dany, after all, is deemed to be all but barren according to the Mizzi Maz Dhuri (spelling?)' s prophecy

OP posts:
ZedWoman · 24/05/2017 21:11

I could see Sansa acting as some sort of regent and surrogate parent for Rickon who may return from Skagos as a complete wildling.

Don't think there's any chance of her pairing up with Jon Snow in the books. There's just no chemistry there. There are lots of other book theories about her and who she'll 'end' up with. My guess is no-one.

MaQueen · 24/05/2017 21:26

I'm afraid Grey Worm can't get jiggy on account of him having no genitals, poor chap Sad

Am still very happy to see him take his clothes off though Wink
