A sudden flurry of posts following Cal's death has brought us to the end of the last thread. So let's continue as we were - there's so many unanswered questions. Have we seen the last of Gem as she heads back to incarceration? How will Charlie and Duffy cope with Robyn and the baby? Who is next in line to be stabbed? Will the illegal strike continue now that Cal isn't there to lead it? And most of all, will Ethan be reunited with his specs?

Most random thing ever - actress that plays Grace also plays the teenage Diana in the new Wonder Woman film! Saw it last night and thought it looked like her, but thought I was just imagining it. Looked it up this morning.

Quite a change from sulky Grace to Amazon warrior!

MirandaWest · 08/06/2017 14:45

Saturday's episode was very odd. Couldn't work out why Josh suddenly appeared and the part with Elle and Louise near the beginning was really not nice.

Cal's funeral hasn't happened yet - maybe this Saturday?

CandODad · 08/06/2017 17:58

Josh has appeared because............. they had a story line for him. Let's all forget the insurance and malpractice potential issues moving patients in the out dated ambulance. Not exactly sure why they would need to have driven it there? Couldn't they just go on a car for their careers chat?

I've looked it up! (Actors ages not characters)

Jacob aka Chucky Venn is 43

Elle aka Jaye Griffiths is 53

10 years!!!

I don't think being plausible is high up on the list of priorities for Casualty scriptwriters Grin

yaela123 · 11/06/2017 21:54

Who watched last nights?

Aaargh! Where are Ethan's glasses?!?! He's wearing them, then takes them off pretending(?) to be Cal, then leaves them off! And is obviously not wearing contacts as we saw him just take them off. And then later he's wearing them again.

Sorry but that's all I really thought about the whole episode

MissEliza · 11/06/2017 21:55

Interesting about Grace being in Wonder Woman. Maybe that will persuade dd to watch it with me. She's being a PITA about it!

Solo · 12/06/2017 11:30

I halfway got the impression that Charlie and Duffy were going to retire...it was there conversation near to Cal's 'dying spot' (even though he was still alive outside) that made me think that.

morningtoncrescent62 · 12/06/2017 18:15

I also fixated on Ethan's glasses. When he took them off (getting in touch with his inner Cal) I found myself wondering whether we were supposed to believe that they'd only ever been for effect. Which would not only be totally out of character, but haven't we had storylines where Ethan's short-sightedness has been a thing?

Other things that were hard to imagine/believe: half a cup of hospital coffee, not fresh out of the machine, in a rapidly-cooling paper cup, is enough to cause serious scalding. The hospital manager is right on the scene the moment a doctor loses his temper with a patient's family. Ethan's allowed to treat the brother of the person everyone believes killed his own brother. Hmm

Why did the BBC put up a helpline number for people affected by HIV at the end of Saturday's dire episode? Did I miss the obvious, or do I, like Ethan need to get to Specsavers?

Optimist1 · 12/06/2017 19:18

I caught that mention of the HIV helpline, too, Cary - unless they were referring to Highly Irregular Vision (symptoms include needing to wear glasses at random moments) I suspect someone made a mistake! Wink

rosy71 · 12/06/2017 19:24

I am beginning to wonder whether Ethan's glasses are significant in that he never really needed them, just wore them to be different from Cal. Seems odd though.

Cary2012 · 12/06/2017 19:25

Optimist, yes, that's it! Grin

Solo · 12/06/2017 22:57

Well I for one was happy to see actual coffee in a paper cup! They are usually empty and Dd and I pick up on every single one as they are put down by their 'drinker' and it's infuriating! They sound empty and that's just wrong!

TizzyDongue · 15/06/2017 19:03

Highly Irregular Vision

I've only just watched. NO clue why the helpline for hiv was mentioned either. Maybe they got confused and it's next week?!

Anyway I'm fairly sure they are on to us. The whole bit about the glasses

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/06/2017 17:14

The glasses make all the difference 😂😂

ButtonMooooon · 17/06/2017 21:37

Watching on delay but that explains the HIV helpline thing at the end of last weeks!!

ButtonMooooon · 17/06/2017 23:02

As they carried the coffin out to the grave I joked Lily and Ian would be DTD on the grave. BUT I WAS ONLY JOKING

frazzled3ds · 17/06/2017 23:22

Wasn't sure what to make of that.....!

Did get a bit watery eyed when Ethan was struggling to deliver his eulogy though.

Haudyerwheesht · 17/06/2017 23:26

Getting annoyed now because I can't remember the Geordie doctors name who is Ethan's girlfriend? She also came out in solidarity with Ethan's glasses tonight by having sunglasses that disappeared as she stood at the graveside - maybe they fell in? Maybe Cal needed them in case it got sunny?

Bloody hell though what's her name?

JeanSeberg · 18/06/2017 07:00

Alicia.

ButtonMooooon · 18/06/2017 08:13

I rewatched the bit with the sunglasses as I am sad and you do see her hand go to her face as the camera shows the bag. It's just bad camera angle rather than disappearing glasses Wink

Solo · 18/06/2017 12:25

I'm tooooo emotional! Wahhhhhhh!
