A sudden flurry of posts following Cal's death has brought us to the end of the last thread. So let's continue as we were - there's so many unanswered questions. Have we seen the last of Gem as she heads back to incarceration? How will Charlie and Duffy cope with Robyn and the baby? Who is next in line to be stabbed? Will the illegal strike continue now that Cal isn't there to lead it? And most of all, will Ethan be reunited with his specs?

I think the next new character should be a competent HR director who can advise management not to make off-the-cuff decisions about sacking consultants, work with the recognised trade unions on labour rights and responsibilities, and address a culture of leaving without giving notice.

I never really enjoy the ones set outside the hospital.

frazzled3ds · 29/08/2017 22:14

Bit late catching up, but got there in the end. Not too sure how the whole Dylan storyline will play out, reckon David will be playing some part in it all.

Alesha looked pregnant, or was the hoody just for the 'roughing it' look?

Wikipedia says this

Casualty's exterior shots were mainly filmed outside the Ashley Down Centre in Bristol from 1986 until 2002 when they moved to the centre of Bristol for just over nine years. In 2011, Casualty celebrated its 25th anniversary; following that, for the Bristol finale, they filmed the Emergency department catching fire and subsequently exploding. After 25 years in Bristol, Casualty moved to its new home at the Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff where it is currently filmed

So MrsMoasty is right

It's remarkable how Ethan was able to perform that surgery on Connie's hand without glasses

CaptainHammer · 30/08/2017 17:57

@solo I came here to type the exact same thing. Just watched the last 2 and though Dylan was smarter than that, seems a weird place to take his character.

I like how Denise Ellison seemed to have cured her racist, homophobic, arsonist ways in one episode too Hmm

PeppaPigObsession · 30/08/2017 18:43

Captain I always felt that she was influenced more by her husband and older son than her actually believing those things herself, particularly as she said she always knew Mickey was gay.

CaptainHammer · 30/08/2017 19:55

Hmm that's a good point Peppa. She still threw a flaming bottle through a window though but then I suppose that was more because she was losing her last family member.

Ceto · 30/08/2017 20:03

I assume Ethan is meant to have gone for contact lenses. Opticians in Holby must be super-effiient, they managed to produce them with extraordinary speed after Cal's death.

Sairelou · 02/09/2017 19:37

Casualty is on at 7.50 tonight, a 70min episode apparently!

Optimist1 · 02/09/2017 21:01

Oh dear - that was a bit rubbish, wasn't it? The only good bits was we got to see Dervla again!

TizzyDongue · 02/09/2017 21:16

Thought Dylan was particularly entertaining tonight.

The Ethan stuff was ridiculous.

Optimist1 · 02/09/2017 21:38

I was so mad with Connie - the way she minimises Ethan's issues and thinks that "keeping an eye on him" is sufficient is so unprofessional and unfair (to him, his patients and his colleagues). Stupid, stupid woman! Angry

purpleme12 · 03/09/2017 01:19

Yes it was a bit strange and annoying about Connie

specialsubject · 03/09/2017 13:57

Connie is a manager so bad she is realistic. Promotion via sexual favours, incredibly moody, personal life all over work, hair everywhere ( and that ridiculous do). Plus comedy heels, trousers under armpits and ghastly shirts.

frazzled3ds · 03/09/2017 21:38

Just caught up again, WTAF is Connie doing? Ethan doesn't need to be given some bullshit pep talk, he needs proper support and help to deal with his issues, and if need be face the consequences around Scott's death.

Dylan looks like he's heading for some tough times - get the feeling he's reluctant to let the kid go. Lily and Ian provided some welcome light relief!!

ISaySteadyOn · 03/09/2017 21:47

I actually really really liked the dynamic between Dylan and David in this one.

frazzled3ds · 03/09/2017 21:49

Agreed ISay - nice to see David coming into his own a bit, and a slightly more 'human' side to Dylan too :)

WellThisIsShit · 04/09/2017 02:54

Oh dear, I like Dylan as a reassuringly rational and self-centered type of character. Boo!

They're going to have to make him get his comeuppance now aren't they?

Solo · 04/09/2017 03:04

I hope not! I want him to get away with it! And also Ethan!

MissEliza · 04/09/2017 14:06

I was screaming at Connie on Saturday night. Ethan is crying out for help although in our house we think Scott Ellison deserved his fate.

PeppaPigObsession · 04/09/2017 16:49

Hated Connie when I watched it, wanted to scream at her. Poor Ethan, blaming himself for not picking up the girls serious disease Sad

Loved Lily and Iain, so nice to see them together and enjoying themselves, and the dress suited Lily so much (the shorter version). And in the lift at the end of the episode Grin

Also loved Dylan. Was going to come on and asked about Dervla and she appeared. Hope he gets away with sneaking Sanosi into the country. Hope David helps him, love their friendship.

TheDrsDocMartens · 08/09/2017 20:49

Just get rid of Connie and Ethan. Bored of them now!

TizzyDongue · 17/09/2017 11:11

What exactly is this storyline between Connie and Etan?

Optimist1 · 17/09/2017 11:52

Jacob was warning Ethan that Connie needed to fill a void in her life, but I couldn't figure out exactly what was meant by that - romantically? professionally? Either way he'd be a fool to depend on her too much; one phone call and she'd be off without warning to attend to something in her personal life for a few weeks.
