Casualty continued...

A sudden flurry of posts following Cal's death has brought us to the end of the last thread. So let's continue as we were - there's so many unanswered questions. Have we seen the last of Gem as she heads back to incarceration? How will Charlie and Duffy cope with Robyn and the baby? Who is next in line to be stabbed? Will the illegal strike continue now that Cal isn't there to lead it? And most of all, will Ethan be reunited with his specs?

Don't forgot Charlie........

TizzyDongue · 19/08/2017 22:46

Certainly was a series opener!

Totally unbelievable in its logistics but it would be odd if that was realistic.

GetHappy · 19/08/2017 23:01

Was definitely a series opener....

Take it Dylan is going to smuggle th boy back to England

revelsandrose · 19/08/2017 23:10

Have I missed one? I think the last one I saw was Connie and Sam getting it on?

frazzled3ds · 19/08/2017 23:40

I'm guessing Dylan is going to bring the kid back, which will then in turn result in some kind of suspension or investigation maybe?

The whole Connie/Grace/Sam story line seems to have gone a bit bonkers ....

Reckon Ethan is heading for some kind of breakdown.

Sairelou · 20/08/2017 07:31

I just wanted to give Ethan a hug! Bless him.

I would think Dylan would go about the proper channels to bring the boy to England. He doesn't seem like the type of person who would put his job on the line by child smuggling.

Solo · 20/08/2017 10:27

I have a bad feeling that Dylan will do something stupid and find himself in big trouble...well that or he'll suddenly have a 'nephew' living with him HmmGrin.

Optimist1 · 20/08/2017 11:11

I feared that he was going to agree to marry the boy's sister to enable them to enter the UK, but now that she's gone splat I guess I don't have to worry about that.

Ceto · 20/08/2017 11:21

It does irritate me that no-one in Holby ever seems to give notice before giving up their job - or rather I think someone did it once, but that was so that we could have a long will-they won't they thing before whoever it was changed their mind. Surely it would be viewed particularly seriously for a doctor just to leave everyone in the lurch like that?

Mind you, if it means we no longer have to deal with Annoying Grace, that's a definite silver lining.

Ceto · 20/08/2017 11:22

My money's on Dylan adopting Selosi (no idea if that's how it's spelt). I hope so, it would be really tedious to have a stupid smuggling storyline.

Solo · 20/08/2017 12:13

Yes but, he'd have to leave him there and go to the ends of the earth to be allowed to adopt him surely? He's not even a friendly sort is he but I do love him.

Ceto · 20/08/2017 12:26

Come on, this is Casualty, where the laws of England get suspended every day. I'm quite sure it wouldn't be difficult for a Holby social worker to wave a magic wand and push an adoption through. Unless it doesn't suit the storyline, of course.

Optimist1 · 20/08/2017 12:53

I think Dylan would make a good if unorthodox adoptive father, but fear that the scriptwriters would then have another child (cf Charlie's son, Connie's daughter et al) for Bring Your Child to Work Day. Sad

Solo · 20/08/2017 17:49

And he wants to be a doctor too!

TizzyDongue · 20/08/2017 17:54

Good point - give it a few episodes he'll be qualified AND there's a spot just opened up as what's his chops quit the job he only just quit his other job for.

spiderlight · 21/08/2017 00:41

He could just take the usual Casualty career path: porter/receptionist 》 HCA 》nurse 》 paramedic 》 consultant.

Optimist1 · 21/08/2017 07:05

Yes, spider - all within the space of two years! Grin

TizzyDongue · 21/08/2017 17:19

You see I'm thinking he may not go down that standard career path as he's already expressed an interest in being a doctor. I figure he'll be a junior doctor in the next six months.

Solo · 21/08/2017 23:39

Grin I laughed at all your comments there!

purpleme12 · 24/08/2017 01:12

I guess it must have been good cos before I knew it it was the end!

I can't believe Sam just upped and left like that!!

And I really do hope Dylan is not going to do something stupid and get into trouble about this boy

Ceto · 24/08/2017 08:07

Did Tom Chambers get a better offer or something? At the end of the last series, hey seemed to be setting up a whole new storyline about him and Connie getting together, and it's just gone up in a puff of smoke.

purpleme12 · 24/08/2017 08:41

Yes it's weird

ButtonMooooon · 24/08/2017 13:38

When Tom Chambers rejoined Casualty he was already contracted to tour the U.K. with a musical so he's left to do that and will return. Still odd the way he went though as they knew when he rejoined he would be leaving on a set date!!! It's not like he had a real life emergency and had to go suddenly!!!

PeppaPigObsession · 24/08/2017 19:24

I love casualty but the bit about Sam and Grace just leaving confused me, when did Connie give permission?

Thought the first episode had way too much going on and they needed to slow down and focus a bit better. Could easily have split it into two episodes one focusing on the conditions in France (which is obviously important and needs exploring) and then the next episode about what was going on back in Holby.

purpleme12 · 24/08/2017 20:56

Connie didn't give permission that's why she was so confused and upset. Sam, for some reason, just upped and left without telling her ( although seems to have told Grace that Connie did know and is OK with it). That's why Connie was talking about getting solicitors involved, cos she never agreed to this.
