The ridiculous thing is I got the question about what Hastings called Roz wrong but all the facts about old series right I got too clever

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 28/04/2017 22:54

10 but only because I'm doing an emergency rewatch of series 1 at the moment, otherwise question 1 would have reduced me to "what? There was a third guy?"

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 28/04/2017 22:56

Button , how could you get that wrong, darling?

NoWordForFluffy · 28/04/2017 22:59

😂 Poor Prased!

CraicMammy · 28/04/2017 23:14

emergency rewatch

😂

CraicMammy · 28/04/2017 23:16

I shouldn't have come on this thread just before bed, now my brain is whirring with theories and worrying about Ted... I'm not going to sleep!!

Ferrisday · 28/04/2017 23:48

Omg- that dancing on Soulboy-fantastic

SuburbanRhonda · 29/04/2017 09:24

In case no-one else has mentioned it on this thread, seasons 1-3 are on Netflix.

upinthesky · 29/04/2017 09:47

I haven't read the full thread yet so please forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but it just occured to me

We all think that fella got his fingers chopped off because he scratched TN but in series 1 the gang that tommy was in charge of were chopping peoples fingers off weren't they!

So maybe theres a link there.

Also perhps instead of it being TN who took the fingers off to sve herself, perhaps its someone keeping the fingers in order to blckmail her into doing things. Maybe She didn't kill him at all and it was remonicent of series 1 when that gang came in and slit jackies throat and put gates finger prints on the knife. Just before he was going to chop her up, a couple of balaclava baddies come in, kill Tim, scratch TN with his fingers, they do the clean up, keep the fingers for leverage and suddenly she's heavily implicated in his murder and has to do what they want her too! 🤔

upinthesky · 29/04/2017 10:02

So in conclusion

Tommy's not dead, he's still controlling his gang, they are the balaclava people (multiple of them) the women they have been kidnapping and killing have been linked to prostitution, so perhaps they're Tommy's employees that have wronged him some how so he's having them killed, that would suggest to me that the woman who survived the last attack and they tried to implicate in tims killing probably does know more, maybe Tim was due to have her round that night hence him cooking, maybe Tim was under Tommy's control and bodging forensics for them and they had to get rid of him for some reason and framed TN for it so they have her under their control now? 🤔 the solicitor is in on it some how too, perhaps he's also one of Tommy's henchmen 🤔 I hope I'm somewhere near right, I never normally am! 😬

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 29/04/2017 10:17

I'd go for that theory up

I don't believe Tommy's dead, although it would stretch credibility it is feasible (there would have to be collusion amongst health professionals / post mortem people too).

In previous series (well, 1 and 2) we knew more about the corrupt cop - Roz is more enigmatic. I am actually missing the human stories in this series a bit : Steve's unwise romantic choices, Kate's turmoils, Ted's wife. I miss Gill Bigelow too.

The balaclavas have changed in appearance since S1 - but maybe they can be more easily picked up in Aldi these days...

AliCat36 · 29/04/2017 10:23

Up - Roz had Tim's bag in her car boot with his blood in it so must have had some involvement, although I'm not convinced she actually killed him.
.

upinthesky · 29/04/2017 10:36

True Ali, although I think she was there for the clean up and/or clean up some of it herself for fear of it being incriminating? Or 'they' put it there?

It's probably totally wrong, but all the way through series 2 I thought it was significant that the 'witness' was so badly burnt they couldn't identify him, it not being him would explain why the people who did the ambush were actually his employees, the reason for them 'turning against him' I didn't think we're ever properly explained

CopperRose · 29/04/2017 10:41

YY to Roz not having possession of the fingers!!

She looked visibly shocked & rubbed her arm when she first saw Tim's body sans fingers at the crime scene, as well as her lone blood spatter.

I think:

She woke up pre saw
She pushed the saw away
It nicked Tim's jugular
He scratched her

Crim team already there/turn up as Tim's dying
(Crim team called by Tim when he thinks he's killed Roz - Tim has been working for them)
Crim team tell Roz they'll deal with it - she's too shocked/scared to argue so agrees to go along with it
Crim team then start controlling Roz

Marmalade85 · 29/04/2017 10:55

I read an interview with real life martin Compston and he explained about the waistcoats.

Apparently his friend was telling him about his very average yet arrogant colleague that used to wear a waistcoat everyday for his job at a call centre. He was nothing special but the ladies loved him. So Martin thought that's the kind of person Steve Arnott is - bit of an arrogant twat who would unnecessarily overdress.

DispatchReady · 29/04/2017 10:59

Loving these theories but that's a lot to wrap up in an hour's episode!!

The figure in the car looked thinning/balding on top...thought it was Tommy Hunter but he had a full head of hair didn't he? Not sure who that is then.

I'm hoping the final episode is not going to be a letdown.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/04/2017 10:59

She must have his fingers to be able to plant his blood / DNA in places.

Ferrisday · 29/04/2017 11:07

A criminal team clean up would work, either called by Tim or Ros- whoever is behind it all. That would explain how they missed Ros's blood.
But then why does Ros have the bag, unless they made her take it so she was now in way too deep.
Taking his fingers does match series 1, so could be torture, to see how much he knows. Fingernail evidence a red herring?

Fluffy-we haven't seen Ros with the fingers, she has the bloody white suit in the bag for her evidence planting.

I'll be pissed off if it's Tommy Hunter

upinthesky · 29/04/2017 11:38

Also I think that young police woman with the glasses is going to be in on it somehow. My prediction is she's a baddie and it will turn out she's someone's daughter, maybe Tommy's or hiltons maybe from an affair? 🤷🏻‍♀️

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 29/04/2017 11:45

I miss Steve's knotted sleeveless pully from series 1.

He looks about 12 in series 1 and they always emphasise his shortness with their two shots.

Bless Steve. I want to mother him.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 29/04/2017 11:45

knitted not knotted!!

NoWordForFluffy · 29/04/2017 11:46

Ah, that's true, Ferris. The fingers would honk worse then her arm did by now too!

buggerthebotox · 29/04/2017 11:49

I've finished theorising for now. I love Compston's interpretation of the waistcoat wearing. Steve is slightly spivvy; the Waistcoat of Doom is obviously a grown up version of the Pully of Doom worn in previous series!

Roll on tomorrow! Can't wait, but don't want it to be over. Sad
