What if...the BM on CCTV at the hardware store is a BM who's following Tim, not Tim (who happens to also be wearing a balaclava)?!

I think there was a BM in Tim's flat who killed him. So is this really outlandish?

spottysuperted · 27/04/2017 14:41

Nothing will beat series 3 I think... Lindsay and sit in the car and then the crazy ending

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 27/04/2017 16:20

"Right, you bloody piss-takers, when I suggested you heavily disguise Balaclava Man next series..."

Enrique,

"What're the odds that the series ends with distressing scenes of the Huntley children face down with their battery packs removed?"

Anyone else notice on hiltons desk was a picture of a young boy? Clearly purposely in shot?

SapphireStrange · 27/04/2017 17:31

oneday, I assumed that was his son. Do you think it could be something more nefarious?

onedayatatime73 · 27/04/2017 17:47

It just felt a bit "obviously placed in shot"

And what's all the golf stuff about in his office. Has that been a thing in past series that I've overlooked?

SapphireStrange · 27/04/2017 17:55

In the last series didn't they apprehend someone on the golf course? And of course POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR PREVIOUS SERIES

in previous series the mysterious go-between/snitch (revealed to be 'Dot' Cottan) was nicknamed the Caddy.

So if Hilton IS involved in this high-level corruption, he quite possibly plays golf with other involved parties.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 27/04/2017 17:59

The apprehension on the golf course was series 1, wasn't it? Unless I have forgotten a subsequent one.

I did see the photo but thought it was to show he was married Shock and pretending to be a family man Shock

The golf stuff, however, is a brilliant spot!

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 27/04/2017 18:01

*Sapphire- upon rewatching series 1 this week, I can't believe that I ever forgot/ unknew who the caddy was. It is basically said in series 1!

SapphireStrange · 27/04/2017 18:11

ILike, It is basically said in series 1!is it?!? I can't really remember.

I feel like the golf-course scene is more recent than S1, but these threads are showing that my memory of LOD is extremely ropy, so who knows Grin

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 27/04/2017 18:13

Series one - Tommy Hunter...

Ferrisday · 27/04/2017 18:15

Golf course was series 1
The Caddy was revealed in S1, right at the end.
S2 it was suggested for a short time that he was going straight

SapphireStrange · 27/04/2017 18:32

But hang on –wasn't Dot's tenure in AC-12 and his dying confession in the last series (3)? Or is my memory hopelessly scrambled?

Ferrisday · 27/04/2017 18:36

Yeah Sapphire, AC9 in s2, but worked with AC12,Hastings offered him perm position at end of S2.
AC12 in s3-confession at the end of that

But 'the caddy' reveal was at end of s1, when Tommy says "best caddy I ever had"?

SapphireStrange · 27/04/2017 18:39

Ah, OK.

buggerthebotox · 27/04/2017 19:07

Well spotted re the golf stuff!

I17neednumbers · 27/04/2017 19:10

So, going back to Series 3 - warning SPOILERS for series 2 and 3 don't read on if you haven't seen them - I have a question.

What makes Arnott go to Denton for help with the Danny issue? At the point that he meets her in the cafe, is there any obvious link between the Danny thing and the murder of Tommy Hunter in S2? (I know there is a link once the list is found, but they haven't got the list when he first approaches Denton)

beargrass · 27/04/2017 19:16

neednumbers

I thought he did that because she would be desperate to prove her actual innocence. So she would see helping him as helping herself. Hat was my impression and I watched S3 quite recently.

Ferrisday · 27/04/2017 19:28

I can't really remember

LOD Series 4 Big Fellas and Wee Girls-this way, we need to look further Ifield.
Ferrisday · 27/04/2017 19:29

According to that he asks Denton for help with linking The kids home to Tommy hunter

beargrass · 27/04/2017 19:30

ferrisday yes I think now you post that, she wanted to return to policing

I17neednumbers · 27/04/2017 19:32

Thanks beargrass - so Steve just wanted a competent helper? It wasn't as if he thought she would have any particular knowledge of the Danny case then?
Just rewatched series 3 ep 5. Looking back, Cottan panicked unnecessarily when Denton revealed the list in the car. Wouldn't he have been better off playing along and taking Denton into AC 12 and acting as if he was shocked about the list - he still hadn't been found out himself. Or maybe he was frightened that if the list was discovered the top crims would blame him and bump him off in revenge?
keeley hawes is really amazing in that series.

Ferrisday · 27/04/2017 19:38

Aw-remember she went to the job centre ? Or her parole officer and said she wanted to be a police officer
She was brilliant

I17neednumbers · 27/04/2017 19:38

ah, cross posted Ferris. Thanks! So he thought Denton could help connect Tommy Hunter to the home.

MORE SERIES 2 and 3 sPOILERS BELOW.....

Next question. At the end in the car Denton says to Cottan that he (Cottan) framed her. But she was actually guilty wasn't she - she agreed to take part in bumping off Tommy Hunter, had the tracker attached to her car, and then changed her mind at the last minute and changed route - but to no avail. Did someone in fact plant the £50k at her house or not - I thought Dakers gave it to her when she came to the house?
