To add to that summary...

It was Ben (the leader) who told Hannah it was strawberries rather than strawberry jam.

Ben's not serving up enough food was only when he was trying to rescue Stephen's lobster. Ben's own course, dessert, was a great success.

Molesworth · 13/03/2007 23:03

Thanks for the summary both

Hannah just isn't getting her act together then?

I think Steven might pip Ben at the post

CantSlimWontSlim · 13/03/2007 23:09

No no, Hannah was the most successful in the second task today. I'd guess that the current running order is probably Ben, Hannah, Steven.

Molesworth · 13/03/2007 23:12

Gah I really don't want Ben to win!

TwoIfBySea · 13/03/2007 23:49

Cantslim then they are doing what they did last year to big up Peter who was useless. I missed the bit where Ben told Hannah about the strawberries/jam and when she realised the mistake the Annoying-Voice-Over-Woman said it was Hannah's fault. Tut, tut.

Hannah's problem is her confidence, that is about it.

Ben is just a twat, I can see him as a stuffed suit somewhere waffling on about unimportant pen-pushing things rather than as a chef.

CantSlimWontSlim · 14/03/2007 08:19

I didn't like Peter last year either.

fishie · 14/03/2007 08:23

i'll eat my hat if hannah wins, although she is def the best. don't know why i keep watching every year, it is always a complete fix and really irritates me.

sunnywong · 14/03/2007 08:32

tell me, do they wear hats when cooking?

fishie · 14/03/2007 08:35

no and i'm afraid that hannah often wears a large cowl neck jumper. they do wear blue plasters a lot though!

zippitippitoes · 14/03/2007 08:38

i think they are all rubbish this year and the tasks seem tired ver much a going through the motions exercise

dullsville

fishie · 14/03/2007 08:40

and the titles are doing my head in, i can't bear that prat torode saying "this competition just gets TOUGHER"

it is all far more bearable at 6.30 while i am busy and haven't had any wine yet.

Iklboo · 14/03/2007 08:42

Careful - it's on a 8 tonight! Ben is turning into a right tosser. He can't work in a team and only does well when he's left to himself. He'd fall apart like paper knickers in a real kitchen.

foxinsocks · 14/03/2007 10:21

Ha! was never keen on Ben right from the start

not sure Hannah is the best, she's v good though (and I still like Steven - I think he's hysterical).

Gives you such a stereotypical divide between men and women doesn't it - both men seem quite confident and are always talking themselves up and poor Hannah seems very timid and is always putting herself down. I reckon if you could just inject her with a little bit of self belief, she'd win it hands down.

Sunny - they seem only to wear hats in the pro kitchens (I think, haven't been watching that closely tbh).

bewilderbeast · 14/03/2007 10:29

Hannah I think she's great its such a pity she has little confidence and that gregg doesn't like her. I think ben is pretentious a crap team player and I don't like him at all. I think steven is sweet but his food is too prissy for me

pointydog · 14/03/2007 11:01

so it wasn't exCEPtional food under PRESHA then?

Missed it.

What is it with Hannah and her chunky polo necks? I sweat buckets just looking at her.

I'm only interested in Hannah winning. The other two are ponces. I hope this competition will CHANGE HER LOIFE.

foxinsocks · 14/03/2007 11:05

or even CHAYNGE

it was a shambles last night - Ben was SO rude and arrogant, I had to watch between my fingers (nearly turned it off actually - can't bear that level of rudeness/arrogance).

pointydog · 14/03/2007 11:10

har!

JolieGirl · 14/03/2007 11:14

I know this is going to sound very shallow but oh god Hannah's hair!! Wouldn't you love to set it free from that silly clip, she looks like an old matron

pointydog · 14/03/2007 11:18

I like Hannah's look actually. Just worry she sweats too much.

JolieGirl · 14/03/2007 11:24

really? How about when she wore a flowery long skirt but you could see the tops of her ankle boots and a good couple of inches of white leg. Such a style icon

chopchopbusybusy · 14/03/2007 11:24

I like Hannah best - wish she wouldn't wear the polo necks though - I'm sure she would look much less flustered if she wasn't so hot!

I don't think Ben handled the army task well at all BUT the army bloke would have really irritated me too. You don't have to SHOUT a running commentary to employees to get the work done.

My money is on on Steven to win (although I'd prefer it to be Hannah.

pointydog · 14/03/2007 11:42

chopchop, John and Gregg SHOUT a running commentary the whole time. I'd expect nothing less of an army bloke

Yes, I do like Hannah's style! So subversive. So apart.

chopchopbusybusy · 14/03/2007 11:48

Yes, I agree John and Gregg do shout the commentary. I just mean that I don't think it brings out the best in people to breathe down their neck shouting constant instructions. It certainly doesn't bring out the best in my DH when I do it to him - he calls it nagging.

RTKangaMummy · 14/03/2007 12:37

I deffo want Hannah to win

But I have a feeling either Ben or Stephen will win

fishie · 14/03/2007 12:41

oh kanga i agree, that horrible cheese man will walk it he is exactly like greggggggggg and john, so how coudl they fail to chose him?
