Sorry to hear about your mum Pix. Mine is 89 and touch wood in rude good physical and mental health and I often think how lucky I've been, especially as she is a few hours away.

As DH left this morning he pulled the leaflet out of his coat pocket that he picked up in the theatre with the forthcoming programme on it, and remarked how enjoyable it had been! The play, the beer, the pizza he had ordered. He didn't mention the star attraction funnily enough Hmm

pixieg1rl · 28/02/2017 09:22

Well, I'm glad he enjoyed the beer and pizza, always. I enjoyed my gin and giggles when I went. Almost as much as the main attraction.

SoEverybodyDance · 28/02/2017 11:11

Nickel my mornings sound exactly like yours... we're much more likely to toss the pancake back into the pan in the evening than rush it onto the floor in the mornings! Have a lovely time this afternoon...

Richtea19 · 28/02/2017 11:59

No chance of pancakes for breakfast for us either nickel. Screaming at the boys to get u p, whilst cleaning the litter tray!!!
I'm home late tonight so I have left instructions for DH to make the batter.... I'll keep you posted on that one!!

Nickel45 · 28/02/2017 12:58

Good luck on that one rich!!! Wink

icemistOBE · 28/02/2017 15:36

icemistOBE · 28/02/2017 18:28

Made 12 pancakes, wasn't enough.... making them again Sunday Grin

I am probably the only person in the entire world who doesn't like pancakes. Never have.

Nickel have you ever read the Peter and Jane blog? It's hilarious and I thought of you before when the latest update came out about making pancakes with her children.

www.facebook.com/peterandjaneandmummytoo/

Somebody on here likes the blog but can't remember who. Is it pixie?

Talking of said pixie, it's quite a strain when parents are ill like that and you're not close by to keep an eye on them. It's a tough time for you. x

Ilovelblue · 28/02/2017 23:55

Dis anyone watch The Replacement tonight? I was hooked which is something I've not been able to say for quite some time.

Richtea19 · 01/03/2017 08:13

I watched the Replacement, I thought it was very good. I love RR, all the cast are good.

Pancakes got abandoned by DH, as he couldn't find the correct frying pan! We did have them but it was late!

Nickel45 · 01/03/2017 09:06

There's a correct frying pan rich?? Wink

I've seen that blog ilove, it's my life! Maybe with a little less swearing at the kids (although definitely under my breath!). It's brilliant isn't it!

I missed the replacement, but will find it on catch up now you guys have recommended it. It'll be great to have something to get absorbed in.

Alwaysfrank · 01/03/2017 09:38

Recorded the Replacement to watch another time. We've just binge watched Happy Valley on DVD and decided binge watching is the way to go - so will probably wait till all three are recorded. There's a lot of good stuff starting up recently - Inside No 9, Catastrophe, Broadchurch - my recorder is doing overtime!

pixieg1rl · 01/03/2017 15:12

Ooh, a ping from rhu. I will be counting the hours until DS goes to bed and I get a chance to read it.

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2017 23:53

I have a meeting with my manager tomorrow so hoping he's going to confirm my VR and that I've estimated correctly!

Very late to bed tonight but have to read Rhu's last chapter before I put the light out.

Morning all I am in hibernation, tripped over bedding and did a dive into bathroom door jamb. Large bump on head and this. Last Friday and have been various colours over the week. Thank goodness for ff and my OG DVDs. Will have to venture out today hope sunny so I can wear my sunglasses. Loved all the photos about Run the beast down and BA's instagram photos. Great one of his parents can see he gets his curls from his dad. As you can tell I haven't felt like doing a lot but have had MN OG and FF to keep me occupied. I'm so glad I found you all two years ago

I hope all goes well at your meeting ilove and you get the result you want. Always a difficult decision to make as it is something which will change everything but most (not all mainly men) of our friends are glad they did it
Let us know how it went. 💐

KeziaOAP · 02/03/2017 10:07

Yorks that looks nasty. Don't whether it's an age thing not as careful where we put our feet! Last year I face planted into the gravel outside the gate also ended up with a black eye and gravel rashed face, was very grateful for the help of passing neighbours who came to my aid, although I did feel a bit of a prat Blush.

Lovely sunny day here albeit cold wind.

icemistOBE · 02/03/2017 10:17

Hope your meeting goes well ilove

Nickel45 · 02/03/2017 13:14

Hope it all goes well ilove and works out the way that's best for you xxx

pixieg1rl · 02/03/2017 16:13

Rhu just finished your last chapter, it was lovely and a great ending to an excellent story.

I've been meaning to ask Nickel about MrN's job situation. Did his interview come to anything?

Nice shiner Yorks. You can pretend you're a celebrity and keep your sunglasses on indoors. Practice saying 'Don't you know who I am?' And looking affronted. Grin

That's a good idea Rhu am now going to read your last chapter have been just up the road to a friends but will have to go further tomorrow!

Rhubarb01 · 02/03/2017 17:55

Hello new thread! I'm glad we made it this far. Let's hope there's some new OG news to discuss on here.

Pancakes - we were a bit late as I didn't have time on Tuesday so we had ours yesterday and enjoyed them. Next year I will do the same as pix as that sounds a good idea. I might try making some and freezing for use later as DS enjoys a pancake at other times.

I haven't seen 'The Replacement' yet as to be honest I forgot it was on and was a bit busy but will watch it on catch up before next week. I'm looking forward to having a look at Prime Suspect 1973 tonight. The original Prime Suspect was brilliant although I think this might seem like a throwback to Life on Mars and probably not quite do as well as Endeavour or Lewis but it'll be interesting.

Yorks that is a shiner to be proud of! My mum did something like that a year or so again and she look like she'd gone a few rounds with Muhammed Ali. Take care, let's hope it fades soon.

Ilove I hope the meeting's gone well. DH is under threat of CR for the umpteenth time in the last three years or so. It hasn't come to it yet and like most of the others they're just sick to death of it and can't be bothered to worry about it - I know that sounds strange but there's only so many times you can get yourself wound up. Fingers crossed it will be alright again but after so long of the same old threat he's determined to sit it out until it comes to the crunch.

Thanks for the words on the story pix. It's a bit of relief to finish it. Time to catch up with a very long list of things that need doing - something of a Spring clean and clear out is needed before I think about anything else but no doubt I'll find time to pop on here quite a lot!
