Lovely photo Ice haven't seen that one before

Rhubarb01 · 17/03/2017 18:54

Ooh that is a nice pic. I can even forgive the stubbly beardiness!

MaddieMoo82 · 17/03/2017 19:53

Hope your last day was ok ilove and wishing you a very happy retirement and lots of U.K tours with CJ xxx

Alwaysfrank · 17/03/2017 20:08

Thinking of you today ilove - it's bound to feel odd but when you have a wobble remember all the bits you disliked! When I did my proper job I used to like the actual work but hated all the hassle and navel gazing and constant restructuring that went with it.

Had a nice day today- went to Kensington Palace to see the exhibition of Diana's dresses. Only 25 of them but very enjoyable.

TRish47 · 17/03/2017 20:54

Thinking 💭 of you today Ilove. Enjoy your last day at work. Lovely new picture of BA. I saw this on Insta this morning. Loving the designer stubble. He really does suit it.

kazzaD66 · 17/03/2017 21:18

Wow, love the new pic. Where's that from?

Ilovelblue · 17/03/2017 23:18

Evening! Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.

I survived the day and finished around 1 pm. My best friend had said we would go for afternoon tea as it was too much of an anti-climax just to go home afterwards and it was a very thoughtful treat from her.

I had my presentation yesterday and those who do Facebook will have seen the photo of all my gifts! I had two people doing the speeches which is quite an honour really, and one of them in particular could make a living out of it I think if he wanted. The really funny part is that I had sussed they would do it yesterday. Men aren't really as devious as us - and both had asked fairly random questions which made me suspicious, even though they thought they were being discreet and casual about it all. With the presentation having been yesterday, it did in fact make it a lot easier today. I've certainly done well for vouchers - nearly £200 of Jamie Oliver and Selfridges vouchers to spend at my leisure. There were flowers, chocolates and other little bits and pieces as well.

Talking of designer stubble (which I only really like on very, very few men), every time I got a hug or kiss today, I kept thinking "I wish they'd shave". Too scratchy for my liking sorry! It made me laugh all the way home anyway.

Ilovelblue · 17/03/2017 23:24

Always very jealous of your trip to Kensington Palace. I've been to a couple of royal exhibitions there. One was of royal wedding dresses and the other I can't quite remember but did involve some of Princess Diana's evening dresses. I particularly remember the one she wore when she danced with John Travolta. I once went to Althorp and saw the Princess Diana exhibition including her wedding dress. I had never liked it at the time and it did not improve seeing it in the flesh.

That's it from Ilove Towers as I am totally wiped out tonight.

Ilovelblue · 18/03/2017 07:39

I forgot to say last night but thanks for the extra photos ice and pixie. I'd drive down to Bailbrook House this minute if I thought CJ would be there waiting.

Alwaysfrank · 18/03/2017 08:39

Just popping in to say there's a "beautiful men" thread running at the moment and someone has posted a picture of BA as CJ on it! And it wasn't anyone from here!

Rhubarb01 · 19/03/2017 17:48

Evening everyone. It's been a remarkably quiet weekend on here. I'm guessing everyone has been too busy with other things. I was out all day yesterday and I've just come back from a trip to the cinema to see 'Beauty and the Beast'. Having never seen the cartoon version or the stage musical I have to say that I found it a really enchanting two hours of escapist loveliness and left with a big smile on my face. It really took me back to being a young child again.

Last episode of SS-GB tonight. I don't think its been as well received as perhaps was hoped but I've found it absorbing. Sadly, there's no CTM tonight and I've never really got into 'Vera' so Sundays look as if they will be a bit thin on the ground although I haven't watched any of 'The Replacement' yet so perhaps I should try a binge watch.

icemist · 19/03/2017 19:31

I forgot CTM finished last week Sad

I did start watching SS-GB but the awful mumbling etc put me offf. I've just started watching The 100 which hubby has watched and it's quite good. Watched 3 or 4 episodes last night.

Ilovelblue · 19/03/2017 20:50

Evening everybody. I did try to post something this morning but lost it part way through. I was typing on my phone and I get fed up of the s*dding adverts which pop up and sometimes when I try to get rid of them, I end up losing what I've typed so far.

I've just finished taking up the hem of a new pair of trousers I bought a few weeks ago for my holiday and of course put off altering them. I tacked them up last week and then forgot with everything else happening, giving up work etc. I hope all my summer clothes still fit as I've not tried them on to make sure. The weather in southern Spain is looking quite good at the moment but deteriorating as the week progresses. Still, it's a break away and it will be nice to forget all about work! The friend I am going with (who gives the rubbish Christmas presents) will also be glad of a break as her father has terminal cancer and it's distressing for all concerned.

The only fly in the ointment is that I think I am getting a cold!

Ilovelblue · 19/03/2017 20:54

Rhu I can recommend The Replacement. The last episode was a bit rushed in my view (any similarities with OG?) and a male colleague of mine came over the next day to whinge that the last fifteen minutes had been rushed through. I wonder if anyone else thought the same?

Richtea19 · 19/03/2017 21:05

I thought the last episode of the Replacement was rushed too. Don't want to say too much as not everyone has watched it yet, but some parts of the last episode were not believable at all.

Busy weekend for us. Little DS was performing in a Rock Concert on sat eve with his rock school. Some bits were rather cringing but over all proud mummy!

I'm binge watching Outlander. Although I actually prefer the book. I can definitely recommend to anyone that that has Amazon Prime to watch it!

Ilovelblue · 20/03/2017 21:04

Evening all! 24 C in southern Spain when we arrived. Quite a shock as we left Manchester in pouring rain. Looking forward to a few days of sightseeing, eating and shopping and forgetting all about work!

Ilovelblue · 20/03/2017 21:08

A couple of today's photos.

Brilliant that you're starting as you mean to go on ilove. Looks fantastic.

I wasn't happy with the last episode of the Replacement either. Plot holes you could drive a truck through and character inconsistencies throughout. It's a shame because it could have been much better with another episode or 2 (might get that on a t shirt) to develop the characters and story.

SoEverybodyDance · 21/03/2017 12:59

Hi Ilove glad you had a great last day and am enjoying Spain...

I watched the replacement all in one go when I had a cold last week. I thought the first two episodes were excellent and the last one disappointing. I was so confused at the end I had to google what was really going on. I differ slightly from you Pixie in thinking that less ending would have actually been more. There was a perfectly good, believable (with potential to be horrifying) story surrounding the fate of children, but did it have to be twisted and turned SO much at the end?

SoEverybodyDance · 21/03/2017 13:00

sorry 'are' enjoying Spain...
