Is it just me who thinks that Monkman, the captain of the Wolfson college, Cambridge, team is the best thing on TV?

Ooh a fan thread for Bobby Seagull (have to say the full name, for the full effect). He's ace.

I've a soft spot for Monkman too. And who was the really frowny / sharp cheekboned chappie from SOAS? He was sooo lovely and earnest.

Kiki, I think that was Edwards. And am I right in thinking he was the one who would rub his legs after getting a correct answer?

That does sound familiar Montalbano, I wonder if he does that all the time when he's excited Blush

Well, Smith from Edinburgh always has to have a swig of water!
I love their funny little ways.

I know! I was glued to it. My husband kept telling me to shut up because I was shouting "Go Monkman!!". I think he is a bit jealous.

I was crushed at my feller's defeat but the magnificent Monkman will be back!

I was shouting for Edinburgh tonight because I'm quite partial to Smith. Sorry, Monkmanites Grin

Sorry, I just don't get the Monkman love-in. I find him a bit scary - he looks like he is about to eat someone every time he answers a question, I was secretly glad when he got a question wrong!

I was quite keen on Boyle, although I'd like to see him shorn of that horrible beard and wild hair. There is a good-looking lad with a lovely smile hiding in there!!

I think Boyle knows it!

Lots of them swig water. I noticed recently a whole team doing it when one of them answered a starter, raising their glasses to their lips all in one splendid synchronised movement.

I have found my people! Grin

I love the way Boyle and his team giggle when a question is really hard. Paxo told them off last time Grin

We were gutted when quiz night was messed with, so now we record Only Connect and save it up for Monday so we can recreate the bliss. Blush

Me too! This made me laugh when I saw it on Twitter. I'm off Seagull now because his team beat my son's old college.

Has anyone mentioned Powell from Peterhouse yet?

Wonder if Monkman will be a bit more subdued this week after the disaster on his last appearance?
