Hello Lovelies.

Marking place.

I know Pospisil is a good player, but that really was a bad loss for Murray. He has so few points to defend over the next few weeks whereas Djok has loads, so he should've made sure to capitalise.

Raahh · 12/03/2017 21:22

phew! have been score watching. Rafa safely through. But this was the only 'easy' match he has really. His next opponent could be Verdasco, which is never an easy match.

JaneJeffer · 16/03/2017 00:10

So Djokovich lost to Kyrgios again. I hate the way they keep saying Kyrgios has star quality. I'm never going to take to him no matter what he does now.

Rafa/Roger about to start. I won't be able to resist staying up!

JaneJeffer · 16/03/2017 01:35

Poor Rafa Sadand poor me I will be wrecked tomorrow.

Raahh · 16/03/2017 20:01

I haven't been able to watch any of it, so woke up to the scores- I agree about Kyrgios, I always support whoever he is playing, even when it's Djok- or even Murray Grin Shock. I will never warm to him at all.
The Half of Death is really living up to it's name. It is really turning into an odd tournament because of the draw.

Poor Rafa. Clearly FedBot's Reboot 2017 is still working Grin.

Vamos Rafa . It's still better than last year.

JaneJeffer · 16/03/2017 23:21

Oh yes much better than last year. Vamos!

I like the way Roger seems to be really enjoying himself now in a more relaxed way, like its a bonus to his career IYSWIM and Mirka looked so proud of him Smile

Raahh · 17/03/2017 08:15

It does feel like a bonus- but when I saw he had signed for another 3 years I was a bit sad really. I would rather this was his last great year on your, rather than see him fade away. I've never been a fan, really, but he's still such a massive draw. And Mirka always seems so un-starry compared to some of the tennis Wags. But I'd be scared of her. Grin

JaneJeffer · 17/03/2017 14:16

I was never a fan either but I appreciate his talent Smile hope he beats Kyrgios.

Raahh · 17/03/2017 15:06

Oh I hope he gives Kyrgios a lesson in tennis and manners.

Federer has said he recognised himself in Nick. I know Roger was no angel when he was younger, but he was nothing like Kyrgios. And Kyrgios will never achieve a fraction what Roger had. because he is too busy trying to be ' entertaining'. Monfils has learnt, too late in his career, that this is the wrong path to take.

Raahh · 17/03/2017 15:09

( and at least Monfils isn't as sweary, though his antics do still annoy me at times).

Raahh · 17/03/2017 19:19

Kyrgios retired in his match with Federer, before it started by the looks of things, so Fed through to the SF.

JaneJeffer · 17/03/2017 21:37

Oh I wonder what happened. fed will be delighted.

Nishikori is another one I can't take to at all.

Raahh · 17/03/2017 21:49

funny, me neither. I'm sure he's very nice. But he seems so dull. I can't muster up any enthusiasm when watching him and always (again) find myself rooting for his opponent. He keeps creeping up the rankings though.

I'm missing Milos this week. I do like Raonic- even if he is a bit of an intense young man. Grin

Raahh · 17/03/2017 21:53

Nick has food poisoning apparently. What is it with tennis players and dodgy food? He's just scared of the New Roger. And so he should be. Upstart. Grin

JaneJeffer · 17/03/2017 23:38

Hmm, I'm always a bit suspicious of the food poisoning excuse (despite having IBS and often being out of whack myself) Smile

I'm not a Raonic fan either. He looks like an overgrown toddler to me! I'm so fussy about my tennis players Grin

Well done Jack Sock. Watching the doubles now. Come on Jamie.

Raahh · 18/03/2017 05:09

Yay! For Jack! My favourite named player! Sock is such a random surname. 😀

Raahh · 18/03/2017 19:04

Murray is out of Miami with an elbow injury. I'm slightlyHmm about about the the timing of that too, given hes got nothing much to defend in Miami. He's just giving himself more time off. His 'elbow injury' will then miraculously heal where other players may find themselves out for months...

DramaAlpaca · 18/03/2017 19:06

Raahh you're such a cynic Grin but I suspect you are right.

Raahh · 18/03/2017 19:10

The fact Djok is also probably not playing either, so Murray knows his place at the number one spot (that he only has due to maths ) is secure, confirms my cynical theory, Drama Grin

DramaAlpaca · 18/03/2017 19:12

Ah yes, now I'm sure you're right!

JaneJeffer · 19/03/2017 01:33

Federer v Wawrinka final should be good.

DramaAlpaca · 19/03/2017 01:38

Hello Jane, fellow night owl tennis fan Grin

Hoping for a great match tomorrow.

JaneJeffer · 19/03/2017 01:54

Hi Drama I really have to stop staying up so late, but it's a long weekend and DS2 has no school on Monday so I'm hoping for a lie-in. DS1 is old enough to get himself off!

DramaAlpaca · 19/03/2017 17:52

Sorry, Jane I went to bed finally before I saw your reply.

I see you mention the long weekend - you're in Ireland too, I think? I'm sure I've seen you on Craicnet. We had such a miserable St Patrick's Day we didn't put our noses out of doors all day. No school to worry about on Monday for us, but I've got work. Such a pain when work interferes with watching tennis!

So - what do we all think, Fed or Stan to win? I'm going for Fed, he's in great form.

JaneJeffer · 19/03/2017 20:07

Hi Drama yes I am. I don't give away my exact location on here, I just say the West, because you know what Ireland is like. Someone you know is bound to recognise you! GrinThe weather was atrocious. Much nicer today.

I can't call who's going to win this!
