I really hope Rafa wins this year- if he does, he will also qualify for the year end finals with half nearly half the year left to playGrin Which is nice. And after how disappointing last year was for him at RG, having to pull out early, it would be great for him.

I'm watching the repeat of the Djok match. I forgot how ugly it got. all Lots of bad tempered matches this year. And a LOT of broken racquets!

Raahh · 03/06/2017 18:19

Sorry about the random words. Grin

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2017 18:34

I saw the first two sets of the Murray/Juan match, then had to go out. I do like Juan, but I was happy to see Murray win.

Happy birthday to Rafa, hope he's enjoying it. It's my birthday today too, but I am a lot older than he is Grin

I am now being deprived of any tennis watching because DH has put a recorded rugby match on - and has now fallen asleep in front of it.

Raahh · 03/06/2017 18:38

Happy Birthday Drama! Cake

GrouchyKiwi · 03/06/2017 18:44

Happy birthday, Drama! Wine

Raahh · 03/06/2017 21:47

Well, Rafa will have had a happy birthday, because Real Madrid have won.

I want to take a pair of scissors to Gareth Bale's stupid man bun though. It's not even a bun. It's barely a lump. Grin

magimedi · 03/06/2017 21:50

Happy Birthday, Drama.

Hope you have had a lovely & special day.

Raahh · 03/06/2017 21:51

Evening Magi I hope you are on hand to console Juan... Grin

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2017 22:13

Thanks all Smile

JaneJeffer · 03/06/2017 22:56

Happy Birthday Drama CakeFlowers hope you had a good one.

Didn't get to see any tennis today. By the time I got the shopping done it had been rained off Sad

Was Rafa around to get his cake? He will be delighted Real Madrid won the Champions League!

JaneJeffer · 03/06/2017 22:57

Oh I see you said the same Raahh!

Raahh · 03/06/2017 23:06
Grin

He got a chocolate cake and a fishing reel, I think from the organisers. Grin

When he retires, he will just fish. For his parents' restaurant. I love him. Grin

Raahh · 04/06/2017 12:46

Trying to clean and watch at the same time.

If Rafa wins this, in the live rankings, because Djok isn't playing til much later, he will move up to number 2. I like that. Grin. And Ramos-Vinolas has had a pretty good year, so he might spring an upset against Novak, who knows.

But I've been crap at predicting so far. Grin

Rafa looking really good again.A pretty easy first set. And no waffle from the commentators about time between points. But I'm watching Eurosport, I'm sick of Mark Petchey Grin

Raahh · 04/06/2017 13:54

Brilliant stuff.

Raahh · 04/06/2017 14:12

Ahhh, Gasquet has had to retire. Sad

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2017 14:17

Poor Gasquet that's a shame.

Rafa going good.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/06/2017 14:21

Rafa is on fierce form at the moment. I so want him to get this tenth title - he deserves to have that record that none of the other top players have and also so people stop banging on about Djokovic being GOAT when we all know it's Rafa

Don't know if any of you saw on another thread: a MNetter has met the top players through her work, and she says that Murray, Rafa and Federer all genuinely good blokes but her word for Djokovic was "fake"...

Raahh · 04/06/2017 15:11

Theonly I'm not surprised about Djok. Last year he seemed to have a pr overhaul, like they had told him to cry a lot on court when he lost, and try to involve the crowd more. It felt false. And a bit uncomfortable. But, he has another baby on the way- and I do genuinely think he misses his son a lot when he is away- it's one of the only times he does seem sincere, when talking about Stefan. Maybe, deep down, he'd like to pack it all in.

I hope Rafa can do it. I want to be here next Sunday cheering him on.

Raahh · 04/06/2017 15:50

Raonic is out Sad But Carreno Busta meets Rafa next...

Raahh · 04/06/2017 16:17

I feel very sorry for Muguruza. The crowd were not pleasant.

JaneJeffer · 04/06/2017 16:18

Aww Muguruza is out Sad

Raahh · 04/06/2017 16:19

And all those double faults- how Mladenovic won with all those is beyond me.

Raahh · 05/06/2017 16:20

The Stan/Gael match is epic. But it's 2 sets to Stan.

Raahh · 05/06/2017 16:53

Monfils seemed to give up. The last set was a bit of a disappointment. But happy for Stan.

Cilic through, though Anderson had to retire.

magimedi · 05/06/2017 17:31

Well done, Andy!

I thought his speech at the end was great. If you missed it, basically he spoke about the awful events in Manchester, Lodon & Paris & thanked everyone for still turning out to watch sport/music etc.
