Is anyone else eagerly awaiting the arrival of taboo starring my lover the beautiful Mr Hardy on Saturday 7th of jan?

Or do I have him all to myself? Grin

What clues have there been that Zilpha is his mother? I've got that JD is likely father but, other than guesswork, have there been suggestions that she is?

justdontevenfuckingstart · 19/02/2017 17:27

There's been no suggestion that it's Zilpha's son other than the ten year thing.

JamesDelaneysHat · 19/02/2017 17:52

This is a series that needs to be watched again to catch all the details I reckon.

Arkengarthdale · 19/02/2017 18:21

To catch all the details and all the grunts Grin

The only thing I base my zilpha guess on is how she said something in episode one about letting their sin remain silent/secret/dead or something along those lines. Initially I assumed she just meant their incestuous relationship but when the boy was revealed I thought he could be the sin she meant.

Agree, I need to watch episode one again. Do we think the truth will be revealed in this series?

CremeEggThief · 19/02/2017 18:38

Probably not. I bet they'll throw in some real cliffhangers in the last episode!

Merlin40 · 19/02/2017 18:42

I've watched each episode twice 🙈 On second watch of last night's episode, Zilpha says something (repeatedly 'not now') in a way which made me wonder whether she was pg again? Just a thought.

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 18:44

Merlin I wondered that too!! But surely their encounter wasn't 'completed' and it was a matter of days ago wasn't it? So even if she did get pregnant from it she couldn't know already.

OP posts:
OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 18:45

She still has the bruises from when her husband beat her so there can't have been enough time passed for her to know she was pregnant.

JamesDelaneysHat · 19/02/2017 18:50

No I don't think she's pregnant. I doubt everything will be tied up in this series. There's plans for 2 and 3 apparently!

I thought it was strange the way JD played with the keys, moving them out of Robert's reach - was it an attempt at playfulness ?! Poor lad looked petrified!

Merlin40 · 19/02/2017 19:03

True about the timings!

Definitely won't be wrapped up this series - I'm going to be gutted once it's finished!!

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 19:05

Me too!

That key thing was very annoying. I felt like shouting "stop being a knob and give your son a hug" Grin

I took the "not now" comment to mean that he can't stop loving her (or wanting her, or whatever) now that her husband is finally out of the way.

Inkanta · 19/02/2017 20:22

I thought he's trying to keep his distance for fear of choking her again.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/02/2017 20:55

Geary talked about Zilpha having been pregnant.

DumbledoresArmy · 19/02/2017 21:04

Just caught up! What an episode!
God cant even guess what's gonna happen next!

I hope they tie up loose ends next week.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/02/2017 21:14

No idea how this will pan out. My husband thinks JD will do a deal with Sir Stuart for a ship and JD, Lorna , Robert and possibly Cholmondley and Atticus will go to America.

wineusuallyhelps · 19/02/2017 22:15

Just rewatching episode 1 with subtitles. Someone says to JD "we thought you were dead". He says,
"I am."

What does that mean?! 🤔

He also told Zilpha he still loves her.

UnGoogleable · 19/02/2017 22:59

I took Z's 'not now' comment to be 'not now we've shagged and I murdered my husband'. He's pushing her away because he's scared he'll throttle her again.

I really came on here to echo what others have said - he can have a use for me any day.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/02/2017 23:01

I'm struck every week how beautiful it is. The set pieces are so painterly. Winter's funeral on the mud flats and the cut away to the be-feathered, children in their ragged finery was stunning.

Lorna and Robert (and the duck) in the kitchen was straight out of Dutch genre painting, as was Brace's bed chamber. The Molly house scenes are fabulous too.

Every episode has scenes I want to freeze frame- the interior domestic scenes with Zilpha and Geary; the men stirring the chlorate; the boats carrying the gunpowder down the culvert.

It reminds me of Kubrick's Barry Lyndon or Ridley Scott's The Duellists.

I'd love to see it in a cinema.

Bejazzled · 19/02/2017 23:06

I've just caught up. I'm all of a quiver at "I have a use for you"

Ooooh

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/02/2017 23:37

Must add the opening of the duel episode was stunningly beautiful too.

PassTheCremeEggs · 20/02/2017 10:53

Absolutely loving this. Watched all seven episodes over the weekend and now can't stop thinking about Tom Hardy. Such a great drama - absolutely dying to know what will happen on Saturday!

OneWithTheForce · 20/02/2017 10:57

I have that horrible feeling I'm going to be left feeling very frustrated and unsatisfied by mr hardy on Saturday. You just know they aren't going to answer all our questions!
