Is anyone else eagerly awaiting the arrival of taboo starring my lover the beautiful Mr Hardy on Saturday 7th of jan?

Or do I have him all to myself? Grin

Well I had a use for my cushion as I had to watch most of the last part of this weeks episode from behind it utter wimp

measles64 · 18/02/2017 22:27

I was looking very hard at my laptop screen whilst the torture was going on Shock

CremeEggThief · 18/02/2017 22:27

I don't blame you, Happy.

I suppose a programme titled "Taboo" was always going to push some boundaries.

JamesDelaneysHat · 18/02/2017 22:31

Is he going to escape?

wineusuallyhelps · 18/02/2017 22:36

Agreed - it was hard to watch. Yet gripping.

I'm gutted it's the last one next week! I don't feel 100% conversant with all the facts established at the beginning, so I might rewatch the first episode!

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 00:17

Finally caught up!

Horrific!

I knew it was brace who had poisoned the old man! He was the only one with access to his food.

So without wanting to be too gruesome, where exactly was that grater being used? We're we to believe the torturer was lifting JD's dress thing?

Very hard to watch all that.

I also have a new favourite JD phrase. "I have a use for you" now we just need him to run the two phrases together and I think I'll wet myself. 😍😍😍

Will he escape? Of course he will. Probably with a sackful of the kings jewels as he goes Grin

He could have a use for me any day Wink

RTKangaMummy · 19/02/2017 00:36

I think the make up dept have done a deffo brill job with his scar above and below his eye

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/02/2017 02:56

I'm still wondering how Zilpha explained away her husband's Death By Hatpin.

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 03:07

She didn't. I think JD left the body in the morgue and had it marked as a cholera death. What baffled me was that they had servants. There is no way it went unnoticed that she fled the house in the middle of the night then JD arriving and removing the body and then her returning. Then they are told their master is dead and no-one says anything?

OP posts:
OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 03:08

Or maybe they were cheering her on? Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/02/2017 03:15

Ah. Thank you. I must have missed that somehow.

As you say though, you'd have thought someone would have smelled a rat - especially since Z had obviously been thumped in the face too.

cushioncovers · 19/02/2017 09:13

Didn't enjoy the torture scenes this week had to fast forward through them. Last episode next week😟

SlatternIsTrying · 19/02/2017 09:45

I found the torture very hard to watch from behind a cushion

My favourite phrase from the episode was when Chichester came to talk to him about the slave ship and suggested he return another time as JD was not particularly coherent, JD replied - I'm always like this.

I thought of my fellow MNers trying to work out what the hell he is talking about 99% of the time. "Take that fucking dress off now" obviously makes up the remains 1% ☺️

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 11:38

JD replied - I'm always like this.

Grin yes I like that bit too!

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 11:41

Btw you know when they were reading out the law regarding his treason and saying that all his blood relatives would be considered guilty of it too and so excluded from a claim on his assets. Have they forgotten that Lorna Bow is not his blood relative and has a legitimate claim on her dead husband' estate?

OP posts:
Merlin40 · 19/02/2017 11:43

Oooh that's a good point, one. I hadn't thought of that. Although, I found that bit quite confusing!

JamesDelaneysHat · 19/02/2017 11:45

Ooh yes Lorna is not a blood relative!
Actually I'm wishing Lorna had more of her initial spark - she seems to be a bit lost, constantly asking where James is and worrying about him.

Merlin40 · 19/02/2017 11:47

I think the initial spark was a front though, wasn't it?

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 12:21

I think she is genuinely stressed about what James is doing and how that will end up. I think she does care for him and knows he is in serious trouble even before he was lifted by the kings men. Does she know his gun powder plot? I can't remember if she knew.

Anyone else worried by about young boy? Is it known that he is (officially) old Delaney's son?

OP posts:
Optimist1 · 19/02/2017 14:35

Seriously confused now! In my mind the young boy was JD (and Ziplha's?) son, not his dad's! Hmm

justdontevenfuckingstart · 19/02/2017 15:02

I think in the first episode it seemed that old Delaney was the boys dad but in subsequent episodes both the chemist and the old man (that had his tongue cut out) referred to the boy as James' son. I THINK.

OneWithTheForce · 19/02/2017 15:51

The story we were given in episode one was that the boy was old Delaney's son who he sent to the old man to raise. We have kind of guessed that he is actually JDs son with his sister but JD hasn't confirmed it.

OP posts:
Optimist1 · 19/02/2017 16:19

Good to know I hadn't completely lost the plot!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/02/2017 17:07

I didn't think there was any doubt Robert is Zilpha's and JD's son ?
