Episode 5 recap:
A duel has been arranged. JD and ugly BIL take their positions. UglyBIL fires first but there is no bullet in his pistol. JD has chance at killing him but refrains and instead kills the now fleeing "second" who he suggests is an EI company man who sabotaged Ugly's gun.
The kings men search for the stolen salt Peter and find no sign of it in JDs offices or house.
JD is followed by an unidentified man as he rides to his gun powder factory. He separates the man from some of his flesh with his curvy knife.
Lorna Bow produces the sought after trunk of Old Delaney's belongings. Brace/Bryce? Is scared of its contents and suggests burning it.
The chemist sets his eye on Lorna Bow. JD grunts. He appoints the young boy as the chemists apprentice.
JD cuts the thumb off one of his men who he accuses of planning to collect the £10 reward offered for info on the stolen salt Peter.
The EI company are increasingly pissed at their inability to catch JD.
The American doctor tells JD he needs his gun powder. JD tells the chemist he needs to speed up the process but chemist advises it is too dangerous and requires more men. The chemist asks JD if he is willing to risk his son's (the boy) life for it. JD doesn't answer.
The king grants permission for an investigation into the sinking of a ship by the EI company that killed over 300 slaves 9/10 years ago. EI company boss man shits himself.
UglyBIL arranges a priest to perform an exorcism (sexual assault) on Zilpha after he (ugly) has violently assaulted her when she had another dream about JD.
