Is anyone else eagerly awaiting the arrival of taboo starring my lover the beautiful Mr Hardy on Saturday 7th of jan?

Or do I have him all to myself? Grin

Yes I think that ending suggested she was planning to kill him as he slept. I half expected him to be tied to the bed.

I never trusted that American doctor and now I trust him even less so. He is working with a different agenda than the one Carlsbad is on. Who is he working for do we think?

I thought the episode was tamer than others but was setting things up nicely for the end.

I must try JD's tactic of avoiding answering questions he can't be bothered with - look mean and moody under a hat and stalk off.

JD, dodgy incestuous relationship aside, I so would!

OneWithTheForce · 05/02/2017 13:33

Grin I still think there is a twist to the incest aspect that will make it all ok.

I already look mean and moody and avoid questions I don't like. I think I'll incorporate the grunting into it from now on.

Great recap!

I also want Lorna and JD to get it on, but I'm not sure it will happen. I think Zilpha might kill ugly hubby (hopefully - what a prick).

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 05/02/2017 13:50

Mind if I drop in? Loving Tom Hardy's Grunty Actingâ„¢

Ohh I read the knitting needle thing that Z took from the drawer that she was pregnant and was going to perform an abortion on herself.

Killing Ugly makes more sense though Blush

OneWithTheForce · 05/02/2017 13:51

I will be seriously disappointed if JD and Lorna don't. They have to. The dynamic between them is fantastic. Totally at odds with whatever is between or not between him and Zilpha.

Ohh I read the knitting needle thing that Z took from the drawer that she was pregnant and was going to perform an abortion on herself.

Do you know that as my immediate thought when she first lifted it form the drawer but I dismissed it straight away when I saw ugly on the bed. I had forgotten that I even thought it. I wonder if she has been getting pregnant and aborting all along?

OP posts:
OneWithTheForce · 05/02/2017 13:54

It would explain why there was a lone knitting needle in her dresser.

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 05/02/2017 14:04

Onewiththeforce Yes, wasn't Ugly complaining that she couldn't get pregnant back in ep. 1? Maybe she has been, but dealing with it herself all along!!

If she is indeed the mother of SadBoy, we know she has been fertile.

I hope there will be a twist that they aren't brother and sister, but I feel that's wishful thinking. Sad

OneWithTheForce · 05/02/2017 14:27

Yes he was berating her at the dinner table infront of a servant about her bleeding again and why can't she just produce a child. It was horrible.

I've been reading some theories elsewhere that JD isn't actually alive....might explain some things?! This series is crazy enough for it to be a possibility..!!

OneWithTheForce · 05/02/2017 17:47

Oh that's a good one bronte. I think we can assume that the ship that is now being investigated for having murdered the slaves 9/10 years ago is the same ship JD was on after he was captured in africa. Him not being alive would be because he drowned with the other slaves.

We still have to find out what those marks on his back are and why his mother knew about them.

OP posts:
Brontebiscuits · 05/02/2017 18:41

Yes and might explain the opening titles of the show?

He certainly seems a bit supernaturally resistant to death (stabbed, clonked over the head etc). Although Tom Hardy does talk about the character being devised as Heathcliff/Kurtz/Bill Sykes etc all rolled into one.

springydaffs · 06/02/2017 00:10

Watching this out of the corner of my eye, finger hovering over the mute button, because I found the last episode overwhelmingly dark. Didn't watch last week's disemboweling (good/practised hand-covering-screen action, volume on mute). I'm not one for violence, me. Finding all the fucking and the dirtiness and the darkness and the witchcraft and the corruption and the nastiness and the fear (and breathe) a bit upsetting if I'm honest.

But your recaps are excellent, One.

Dulra · 06/02/2017 08:41

Thought Saturdays episode was very good it is all starting to come together. Not sure on theory that he isn't really alive and a bit unsure of his motivations to hold onto to the bit of land? Is it for money? tea? (as he suggests) or just to ensure the EI Company don't get their grubby little mitts on it?

Great recap One only one error when the chemist asked whether he would risk his sons life to get the gun powder quicker he did grunt but then said he would get the chemist more men and the "chemicals name?" so basically implying that yes he would risk his sons life for a quicker gun powder making process

OneWithTheForce · 06/02/2017 09:22

Oh yes good point dulra! So he was basically saying "yes, I'll take that risk" but didn't actually confirm the boy wasn't his son. Nasty JD!

Sorry, One - much more my type than JD is, provided we don't take into account his vile character !

MrsPMT · 06/02/2017 19:37

Def want Zilpha to murder her horrid husband, can't she get JD to do it for her? Dunno why he didn't shoot him in the duel.

Am liking Lorna more each episode, found her annoying at first, and also enjoying JDs grunty vocab Grin

OneWithTheForce · 06/02/2017 19:58

I'm really warming to Lorna too. She has a sense of humour that makes JDs grunting look ridiculous Grin puts him right in his place.

OP posts:
Brontebiscuits · 06/02/2017 20:27

Lorna is great- she's like the antithesis to all the tortuous gothic nonsense (not that I don't also love the tortuous gothic nonsense!) She's massively more sexy than Zilpha.

ImissTerry · 06/02/2017 20:32

So did I hear right that JDs mother was a Native American from the Nootka place and her father (the chief) gave JDs father the land in Nootka as a dowry along with JDs mother? Wasn't that what was on the rolled up sheet from the big box.
