Is anyone else eagerly awaiting the arrival of taboo starring my lover the beautiful Mr Hardy on Saturday 7th of jan?

I really enjoyed it tonight, although at one point I thought he was rootling about in the baddie for an organ - to eat! I was quite 'glad' it was merely a disembowellment!

It was salt that he was stealing from EI. I really had no idea that bird poo and urine were the main ingredients for gunpowder! I may have paid more attention in chemistry if Tom had been teaching.

You can extract the saltpetre from bird poo but as the Chemist said it takes ?weeks/months to do that.

I just can't see what it is about her that obsesses him so.

What nationality was her mother?

Also, why wouldn't Lorna know who Zilpha was?

Also loved Lorna & Brace talking over the cup of tea.

Tom Hollander-absolutely fantastic.

And just as an aside, Im in my early 50s, my oldest parent born in 1930.

Charlie Chaplin born 1889, youngest child just 18months older than me!!!!

I am agreeing with you about the incest but I suspect there is a twist to it that hasn't yet been revealed. Also not seeing the attraction but again, I think we are to assume she is a very different woman from the girl she was before he left England. Her husband seems to have moulded her very well to conform and obey.

I was close to stopping watching this last night - I found both the almost-rape of Lorna and the protracted fight/disembowelling quite upsetting.

Also TH recovered from getting axed in the head quickly!

He was bludgeoned not axed but yes a quick recovery. I haven't got a clue what's going on but am enjoying it all the same. Do wish they'd clean TH up just a bit. His clothes mainly, not him. I had not thought about using sub titles but will certainly do that from here on in, in fact I may watch the previous episodes again with the subtitles to see if I can get all the mumbled bits I missed.

Agree no chemistry between Tom and Zilpha, that part of the story doesn't really work for me. Also agree it's weird that Lorna didn't appear to know who Zilpha was when she was engaged to her father.......

Subtitles are the way forward! I put them on for the first time for this episode- a revelation! It's TH's raspy whispering I struggle with most.

A synopsis of the plot would probably be: don't trust any of them!
