Will Gloti get a historic 120 points, will 3x bridesmaid Kev finally make it up the aisle, or will sis Jwan steal the glitterball and if so, do we have enough Kleenex for Ore?! It's #SCD10 FINAL 2016

In preparation for tonight. So who are you rooting for? Danny, Louise or Ore?
My preference would be:
Danny
Ore
Louise
But I really don't mind who wins and quite like the idea of Ore taking the trophy.

Well done Fiderer! Glad you had a good time!

Chipstick10 · 19/12/2016 00:05

Think the judges overmarked and pushed the ore win. None of any of it sat comfortably with me this season. Was sick to death of Len eye rolling and bleating on about ores lack of dance training and " we know you can dance Danny " . The judges irritated the hell out of me this year

EvilRingahBitch · 19/12/2016 07:52

Finally caught up with the final I recorded (I didn't even bother trying to remain unspoiled). Interesting seeing the dances fresh after reading what you lot and Monkseal and DS and the Guardian thought of it all.

I was expecting to be blown away by Ore's showdance and not quite sure whether Danny's would live up to my sky high expectations after that AS last week. Actually I was slightly disappointed by Ore's - good but didn't ring my bells - and loved Danny's which was the melodramatic extravaganza I'd hoped for from Oti. Louise was badly overshadowed. That cha cha was so exposing: you'd need to be a truly phenomenal dancer like Natalie Gumede or have extraordinary charisma like Alesha to pull it off, and Louise just isn't either of those things.

So actually, across the final, I think I preferred Danny, but Ore also had three very good dances and clearly wanted it desperately so I'm happy enough that he won. Also my DC are of the age to have watched him on CBBC so it's a popular win in our household.

DeepanKrispanEven · 19/12/2016 08:12

I didn't like Danny's show dance - I felt it was over the top, frantic, and left me cold.

Agree about Len. I've always fast forwarded Darcey's comments, and sometimes Bruno's. This year, I've forwarded all of Darcey's as usual, and Len's from about week 3. The first few weeks Bruno didn't seem as silly as he'd been in recent series, but he seemed to deteriorate so I've forwarded all his comments for the last few weeks. Which just leaves me with Craig! My dream judging line-up would be:

Arlene Philips (head judge)
Craig
Karen
Anton

In a few years' time I'd love to see Brendan and the gorgeous Natalie on the judging panel too, but I don't want them to stop dancing yet.

rollonthesummer · 19/12/2016 10:21

Arlene Philips (head judge), Craig, Karen, Anton

This is a fab line up! Not sure why they got rid of Arlene!?

I wouldn't like to see Natalie on the judging panel though-there are lots of others I'd prefer! Ian Waite, Camilla, Darren Bennett!

I wish they'd tell us who they've chosen!!

MerryMarigold · 19/12/2016 11:09

Arlene Philips (head judge), Craig, Karen, Anton

No way! What a dry panel. Anton is not funny enough to lift it. (Actually, I find him rather annoying but perhaps it is just me). I love Victor and Darcey.

I fear it will be the same panel but with Anton, and Craig will be new Head Judge, although it would be nice to have Arlene in there and have 2 women judges. Either Anton or Brendan, but I bet it's Anton. He's been built up a bit this series.

Pannnn · 19/12/2016 12:15

I thought the mirror dance for Danny and Oti was fab-u-lous. The intensity and timing were excellent.

Panel:
Anton
Karen - Head Judge
Craig
Bruno

Pannnn · 19/12/2016 12:32

I think Craig and Anton would have to be sat at the far ends of the bench.

chicaguapa · 19/12/2016 12:57

I've lost a lot of respect for Darcey's opinion this series. The only two whose scores really counted for the dancers were Craig's and Len's.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 19/12/2016 13:03

Darcey is always going on about "it's a story you tell and you could watch the story" and so on.

It's a bit predictable.
She's lovely, but maybe not a judge.

2rebecca · 19/12/2016 13:53

Darcy's false shock horror expressions to Craig annoy me. When Len leaves they should replace him with a judge who fancies women, so gay woman or straight man. All the judges fancying men is unfair as they all get distracted by hairy chests etc.

2rebecca · 19/12/2016 13:54

Karen who?

EvilRingahBitch · 19/12/2016 13:54

Arlene was just awful towards the end of her tenure. She had nothing to offer beyond alliteration and drooling over the hunky men. Like Darcey at her worst she might have been well-qualified on paper but she sure didn't show it. Bruno, Len and Craig irritate the hell out of me but they all give some practical critique amongst the fluff.

Pannnn · 19/12/2016 13:57

Karen Hardy.

yes the drooling thing from Arlene was pretty bad toward the end.

Or perhaps Aliona as judge?

EvilRingahBitch · 19/12/2016 13:58

To be fair 2rebecca, Bruno is always hugely biased in favour of attractive women. And Craig is disproportionately swayed by older women or those with the character factor, so it kind of balanced out.

EvilRingahBitch · 19/12/2016 13:59

Aliona would be hilarious. There would be blood on the floor.

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/12/2016 14:20

Does anyone remember the year Donny Osmond joined the judging panel for some of the time? More significantly, does anyone remember why?

theliverpoolone · 19/12/2016 15:01

Yes, re Donny! He gave out 10's like confetti, and on all the ITT's afterwards everyone always said 'yes, but it was a Donny 10 so it doesn't count' if they got praised for getting a 10 Grin

DeepanKrispanEven · 19/12/2016 16:21

Donny only joined for one programme, didn't he? And he was spectacularly useless.

CaveMum · 19/12/2016 16:24

Didn't Donny come in when Craig had his hip operation, or was it Len's knee?

TimTamTerrier · 19/12/2016 16:28

No, Donny was a 5th judge on the day that he was in. I don't think Craig missed any of the programmes when he had his hip done, although he was in a wheelchair for a week or two and he was very smiley and generous with points until he came off the nice painkillers.

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/12/2016 16:54

As I remember it Donny was the fifth judge - though it's clearly made more of an impression on me than is quite warranted, because I thought he was there for several weeks, not just a one-off.

Goingtobeawesome · 19/12/2016 17:15

Dh and I were very late to strictly and I'm not sure which series we started watching half way through for the first time. I think it may have been with Ainsley Harriet. I know we saw the series with Sharron Davies and Arlene was a judge.

Does anyone know if you can get the first few series on DVD from anywhere please?

Millimat · 19/12/2016 17:33

I'm another one who has lost any respect for darcey this series. She has seemed so wishy-washy. Lots of comments about emotional connection.
Len has annoyed me with his negative comments and before the crowd had even murmured he's in there with "don't about at me, it's true " type comment.
