I'm watching Close to the Enemy now Rhu but am struggling a bit - maybe I'm not concentrating as much as I should.

Have you seen the advert for Amazon where there is a golden retriever who is dressed up as a lion? That made me laugh at first then I cried at the end. What's wrong with me. Must be my hormones again.

It is pouring down here with some sleet and hail and very windy. There's snow forecast for tomorrow allegedly.

Rhubarb01 · 17/11/2016 23:04

No worries mooj - it's grating but also intriguing me too but not affecting my overall enjoyment. I saw Jim Sturgess in a late night film the other day and he was a bit bendy and angular in that so I think he just has that type of body language.

ilove I think no one in that hotel is quite what they seem and you don't really know which side they are on. I'm just hoping by the time it ends we know what it's all about. I haven't seen the amazon advert yet so will look it out. (I cry about all sorts of daft stuff - don't worry I reckon it's good for you.)

Still really enjoying 'The Missing' too. It's been a real talking point. I keep thinking how would you write that story? I reckon they sat down and wrote each individual characters storyline and then chopped it all up and moved it around on cards. In my imagination I can see one of those police glass walls with photos and lines all over the place. It feels like we're getting to the conclusion but I suspect there's going to be a big twist very soon.

Thanks for the comments on the story. It was a bit like drawing teeth but got there in the end.

Rhubarb01 · 17/11/2016 23:06

P.s. we've had some torrential rain here today and this evening and at one point a sudden isolated clap of thunder that was so unexpected and had such a strange rolling sound that I had to ask DH if it really was thunder and not an explosion.

Look who was at Buckingham Palace last night

Was to celebrate 60 years of National Youth Theatre

Ooooh ice!!

Richtea19 · 18/11/2016 17:50

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. I feel so much better today as I've seen my friend and had a huge hug (and shared a bottle of wine). I need to snap out of it, children in need this eve and really that does make you feel you have no problems compared to others.

pixie I'm off to marks tomorrow to get the biscuits. Love that tin. Has anyone succumbed to the 35.00 Christmas tree box of goodies that's meant to be worth £200.00? I'm intrigued and wonder if it's worth it?

I think i will give up on the bb2 drama, I found it a bit slow, too many other bits to watch.

ice lovely photo of our Ben!

woof if you're out there, Blindspot is back with the Strike Back man.

Richtea19 · 18/11/2016 17:51

I notice he has that terrible collarless shirt. And at Buck Palace too,!!

Ilovelblue · 18/11/2016 21:16

Oh Rich, I am so glad you said that about the shirt. He really needs one or more stylists, especially for events like this!

Like you, I feel better about things today but so feel for my friend as I think she's going to have a rough time, not just because of her father's illness but I think her mother is going to be difficult to cope with and I can foresee that my friend will be the parent and the mother is going to become the child if you know what I mean.

Ilovelblue · 18/11/2016 21:18

I forgot to say but I had a weird dream last night where Dangles was struggling to park his car (a white Audi convertible with a red roof) in front of my house. I saw his face so clearly. No idea where that might have come from at all!

icemistOBE · 19/11/2016 12:22

That was a strange one! My friend at work had a dream that I killed hubby and called her to confess Confused

Off work for a few days, started present shopping. Have booked to go home for Christmas so need to think what presents to bring/ leave here.

Dreadful weather here. At least the snow has gone (wet, slushy stuff yesterday) but it's been hailing at times and very heavy showers. The kind of day just for sitting in and watching OG! Going out for a quick walk to stop myself going to sleep. I had a cooking fest earlier to fill up the freezer and there is a fair amount of washing up to put away as well.

What's everyone else up to?

KeziaOAP · 19/11/2016 15:02

Cold and dreary here, sitting by woodburner watching rugby, knitting Christmas tree Smile ...... proving difficult with cat chewing yarn!

kazzaD66 · 19/11/2016 15:52

Picked up my new car this morning. Now watching Andy Murray whilst pork belly is slowly roasting in the oven Smile

Rhubarb01 · 19/11/2016 16:07

Afternoon. I've been out shopping today for groceries and some Christmas stuff and quite by accident witnessed the grand arrival of Father Christmas at our local Grotto on a tinsel embellished sleigh drawn by two white Shetland ponies - ahhhh! DD was with me and extremely unimpressed by me waving to him Smile

Anyone up for the Blackpool SCD bonanza tonight? If you are, you know where you can find me.

On another note, I need something to wear to the company Christmas dinner which I don't really want to go to so I am feeling very unenthusiastic about spending any money on an outfit, having several old ones in the wardrobe that would do. However, I am torn between a dress, which I hardly ever wear or trousers and my DD, bless her, suggested that I get a 'playsuit' . My first words were "A playsuit! What like Tess Daley?" immediately followed by "Oh, no definitely not like Tess Daley!" remembering that blue thing she wore the other week. I seriously think that Tess needs to talk to Darcey Bussell's stylist and get some tips. Needless to say I will NOT be buying a 'playsuit' the thought is just so late seventies roller disco that my mind boggles!

KeziaOAP · 19/11/2016 16:31

Mind boggles indeed Rhu....... had a playsuit/catsuit in the late 60s, white lace (hasten to add it was lined) thought I was the bees knees Hmm

Richtea19 · 19/11/2016 18:22

Dreary weather here today too. Bit of Christmas shopping and lunch with a friend, ironing all afternoon and now heading off to the cinema with DH to watch Fantastic Beasts, so sadly no SCD at Blackpool for me.

Rhubarb01 · 19/11/2016 18:56

Anyone who is strictlying - I am here ready to chat. If not, I will restrict myself to just a few comments now and then. Just can't help it but I reckon it's going to be a good one.

icemistOBE · 19/11/2016 19:00

I'm here Grin

Never realised there were so many petty people around Hmm

Hooray! Hello ice. Lovely, glamorous opening number.

Rhubarb01 · 19/11/2016 19:07

Is it me or are the costumes a little bit underwhelming this week. Just gasped at the awfulness of Claudia and AJ's

pixieg1rl · 19/11/2016 19:17

Exciting day of supermarket shopping, laundry and a trip to the playground here.

Yay! Peter Kay.

Ilovelblue · 19/11/2016 19:18

Evening Rhu and ice.

I'm here - sort of - but dipping in and out as I'm sorting my tea. Tess's and Claudia's outfits are as rubbish as always I see. I think there must be no budget left to dress them after the celebrities have got their glad rags.

Rhubarb01 · 19/11/2016 19:20

Yes Peter Kay was funny. I don't think that was the best dance Claudia has done but she'll keep getting plenty of votes. I feel a bit sorry for her she's as good as the others who've had tens.

icemistOBE · 19/11/2016 19:21

Loved the opening number!

I liked her dance but costumes could have been better.

Loved Ore

pixieg1rl · 19/11/2016 19:21

I forgot the annoying background dancers they have in Blackpool. I predict they're going to use them A LOT for Ed
