Is DS now wanting you to buy him a car Rich?

I always buy flowers on what would have been my parents' birthdays too.

Hope MIL's operation goes well. Will she be coming to you for recovery?

Out for tea after work tonight. Best steer clear of any potential food poisoning in risotto!

KeziaOAP · 07/02/2017 17:26

Rich well done DS passing driving test.

Best wishes for MIL op, is she home today or staying in? When they do lumpectomy usually pump blue dye in (can't remember the exact term) so lymph nodes can be identified for analysis, the dye takes a good 48 hours to clear the system, trouble being anyone who sees you after gets such a shock like looking at a ghost!

Richtea19 · 07/02/2017 20:17

kezia yes blue dye procedure today and lumpectomy tomorrow. Her daughter (Sister in law) is over from Australia for 4 weeks so will be staying with her. She's not local to us so not really ideal staying with us. My sister in law is bloody annoying, she announced her mothers breast cancer on Facebook and so far is doing a day by day diary. I think it's totally inappropriate. But of course being the only daughter with 5 brothers she is nothing but perfect! We will find out more tomorrow after the op.

ilove, DS has a car. He was very lucky to have some money that was given to him by my dad, it's an old car and the insurance was just as much as the car!!! However it's his. It has a black box fitted to he will have to have to drive sensibly!!
X

Ilovelblue · 07/02/2017 23:18

Rich I remember you telling us about the car now I think about it. You can understand why the insurance is so high for youngsters but it is pretty phenomenal.

Had a lovely evening out with two friends but we ended up talking about redundancy, retirement, illness and first time house buyers (one of my friends is going through the latter with her daughter). The man at the next table, who was clearly a businessman eating on his own whilst staying overnight etc, seemed enthralled by our topics.

Have an early meeting tomorrow so should be in bed and not on here!

Night night.

Hello ladies. I have not posted for a while as summer in NZ has taken over.
We are now up to episode 3 on OG. While I am enjoying it I certainly miss the chemistry that was there between Molly and CJ.
MK seems to mumble her lines, either that or I am going deaf!
Elvis 🕺 aka Billy big b--ks is the star ⭐️ so far ( apart from CJ ) who roll has diminished! If he returns for another series I do hope he has a more dominant role.
I hope those that have had bugs are feeling better, and those that have been or who are going to see BA enjoy it. All reviews would be gratefully received.
I will also Ditto the comments about OG FF writers. I think they are awesome 👏 and have got me through some sleepless nights.
There are so many wonderful unfinished stories about OG, hopefully the writers will at some stage finish them. I often read the reviews for the stories and it is obvious that they are so well received. I read them over and over again. Hopefully with S3 filming starting next month it may kick start the writers to start up again. Take care all. Xxxx

Ilovelblue · 08/02/2017 08:07

Glad there's another Elvis fan Trish! I don't think it's MK particularly whose words one may struggle with. I think it was the sound quality in general. I know both Rhu and I both resorted to subtitles. I agree about CJ's role in the series and hope he manages a promotion in the next series as well.

Off to work now.

Rhubarb01 · 08/02/2017 19:00

Evening. Congratulation to you DS Rich on passing his driving test - a true milestone! Hope everything goes well for your MIL.

Like Ilove I'm very pleased to hear that there's another Elvis fan in the virtual building Trish. I have to say that in my opinion episode 2 is the best of the series but there's a bit more action later on. I know quite a lot of people didn't exactly warm to Elvis and his attitude to life and Georgie but I found it easy to forgive him - nobody's perfect - even CJ made a few mistakes in series 1. Who can forget 'Wifegate' and Mr Jealous Pants. I think we all hated him for about 20 minutes after the overheard revelations from the wardrobe!

P.S. I have been working on finishing my story and hope to to do pretty soon as I've been writing things in the wrong order sort of back to front -not much help for the readers! It's been interesting to see how little FF there is about series 2, it's just not very popular. Somehow Elvis and Georgie will never live up to CJ and Molly - I do hope CJ gets a good role in series 3 and what I wouldn't give to see a glimpse of Molly, even if she's only skyping from somewhere in the world (surely, you could manage that, Lacey Turner, during your tea break on Eastenders?)

Rhubarb01 · 08/02/2017 19:08

I also meant to say that I've been relying more and more on subtitles and I'm sure it's not my hearing at fault. The sound quality on lots of dramas is just not very good and actors do speak very 'naturally' to put it politely. If you got a play at the theatre you usually hear every word because they have to project but clearly that's not the case with mics everywhere. I'm currently a bit of a closet fan - well it's out now - of 'Timeless' on E4. It's utter tosh, in the manner of Tardis Time Travelling through interesting snippets of history with an overarching conspiracy/intrigue storyline but there is quite an engaging relationship building between Lucy, the History professor and the mandatory, handsome US marine, Wyatt, who has to accompany them on every trip into the past. My point about 'Timeless' is that I have to use subtitles because they talk so quickly, my ear's not tuned into the accent and I just miss masses of what is said, otherwise not to mention failing to understand what is going on most of the time.

Rhubarb01 · 08/02/2017 19:09

Can't hear and can't spell either - "If you GO to a play at the theatre"

icemistOBE · 08/02/2017 20:40

Sound quality is always being complained about. I found some of Poldark hard to follow. Not sure what changes, but you'd think with them all going in and re-recording the vocal they'd get it right!

Maybe it's them having veneers on their teeth as it does change they way you talk...

Rhu I suppose in a real life situation, you wouldn't give Elvis the time of day after he'd jilted you at the altar. In our imaginations though, it's probably ok to be a bad boy made good.

I wish we could get some OG casting/filming news.

ice have you not heard any whispers?

icemistOBE · 08/02/2017 23:17

Not really ilove - nothing concrete. Not enough to say in public without further investigation

Exciting news - I've just booked tickets for Run the Beast Down. I decided to just brazen it out with DH, so on the back of suggesting we need to go out more, and suggesting a play at our local theatre, I ever-so-casually mentioned Ben's production and we are going! No tricky questions fortunately about "why" (because I have a massive crush on Ben) or "how I heard about it" (due to my unhealthy ongoing obsession with all things CJ) Grin

Just need to book the hairdressers now for that afternoon, I don't want to let the side down!

icemistOBE · 09/02/2017 19:31

Oh exciting frank Grin

YorksOAP
Lucky you frank really jealous obs
I wouldn't change where I live but Londoners do get the chance for great shows, carol concerts etc. I am not sure I noticed until my obsession with OG/BA/CJ! Great photos on the website though

TRish47 · 10/02/2017 22:34

You lucky lucky ladies going to see BA. I am so jealous 😒 However have a wonderful time and please give us an in depth account!! ❤️❤️❤️ I am trying to convince myself that I am NOT obsessed but failing miserable!! However one can dream 😌

Wycombe123 · 10/02/2017 22:39

I am lucky enough to be going to the Finborough next Saturday. Dragging my DH along, my OG obsession is not a secret in my family and is the subject of much gentle teasing and pity! Am looking forward to seeing the 50 seater theatre above a pub. The play certainly sounds intriguing and different just hope I am not
the oldest in the audience! Long hair and beard not my favourite BA look but will be good to get a close up. Hopefully will be able to take a sneaky photo at the end of the performance Smile

Ilovelblue · 10/02/2017 23:29

Evening ladies. What a week it's been. After much pondering and doing sums, I have decided to take voluntary redundancy at work. I've put in my request and just need the figures now to confirm that my sums were indeed correct. It is a most peculiar feeling.

Not sure at the moment whether I need another job or not, but if I do, I am hoping it can be part time rather than full time.

Off to bed, feel quite exhausted this week!

icemistOBE · 11/02/2017 07:32

Oh wow ilove!
How do you feel now you've applied?

I am very jealous of those going to see Ben's play. Shall have to comfort myself by binge watching OG and listening to the interviews he's done. Hope you all get to meet him, he really is great!

Blimey ilove what an exciting time for you! I hope it all works out to be what you want.

I have a friend that gave up her job she is in her 50s and financially stable. She had worked since the age of 17 and decided it was enough. She's like a new women, she now says she can't believe she ever had time to work! She is enjoying her life without being a slave to it. Good for you ilove

Anyone seen 50 shades last night? I have a couple of friends that were going so it will be interesting to hear what they say. Chris Evans on the radio slated it. I'm still going to go though.

Snowing here this morning, little snow but still settling in the garden.

We have a Poppy Ball to go to tonight charity thing for thenBritish Legion, a good excuse to dress up. Then off to see MIL on Sunday, if she is up to it.

Ilovelblue · 11/02/2017 08:37

Rich and ice I have a few emotions running around my head. Relief I've eventually made the decision at last but sadness as I genuinely like the people and the work too most of the time. Financially though it's not a bad time as I can take my pension without any penalty and we are merging with another company in April which will undoubtedly bring the worry of compulsory redundancies so I'd rather go now from choice.

What I will sorely miss is the charity stuff. We've raised £31,000 for the hospice whilst I've been 'in charge' and I love growing the plants and doing the Christmas stuff. I am probably going to volunteer with them anyway once I finish work.

Ilovelblue · 11/02/2017 08:39

Ooh meant to say Jamie Dornan was on with Graham Norton last night. Didn't like the beard though. None of my friends liked Fifty Shades so if I do go, it will probably be on my own!

icemistOBE · 11/02/2017 12:36

I taped GN show to watch later. Am going with work friends to see movie on 21st.

I can see why you want to go now ilove hopefully company will agree. I tried with last company but got turned down, I left as soon as I returned from mat leave though.
