ilove sorry to hear you've not been well. Hope you've had a relaxing day and feel better xx

Ilovelblue · 30/01/2017 21:15

Thanks ladies. Do feel a bit more human today than I did this time last night but am aching and shivery - a bit like the after-effects of flu. I changed the bed and had a shower this morning and then felt totally wiped out! I've lived off porridge, bananas, yoghurt and toast as I just haven't wanted to eat which is so unlike me.

I've decided that watching OG when you are ill is the TV equivalent of eating comfort food. CJ never fails to impress. I think he's the kind of guy who would always be there, even if you were throwing up!

icemistOBE · 31/01/2017 10:23

Are you feeling better today ilove ?

Ilovelblue · 31/01/2017 12:37

Thanks ice. I don't feel queasy any more but still unbelievably tired, just like when you've had flu and I'm not hungry. It's so not like me at all! Not going to work tomorrow, hope to be ok for Thursday.

Richtea19 · 31/01/2017 17:43

sorry you have been feeling poorly ilove make sure you do have a few days off and give yourself time to get better properly.

icemistOBE · 31/01/2017 18:59

Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon ilove

I've just got home from work to hear my eldest talking about booking his first "lads" holiday, not to be confused with last years one with the lads (with one set of parents) the one where he lost his passport!

They are booking it through a company called Party Hard Holidays!!! Help!!!
ice with your expert travel knowledge should I be worried?

Richtea19 · 31/01/2017 20:02

Actually Party Hard Travel!

icemistOBE · 31/01/2017 20:24

Never heard of them. But imagine from a mums point of view it's everything you don't want them to do...

I've told work I'm not coming in this week. I rarely take time off (unlike some of the youngsters who are off at the drop of a hat) and there's no point in going back too soon. You get no thanks for it!

My elderly neighbour called round to see if I was ok - but then wanted to talk about his 81 year old "girlfriend" giving him the old heave-ho. I've heard it all before over the past few weeks. Too many times in fact - and I didn't have the patience to listen to it all again so told him I still wasn't well and needed to rest. He sort of got the hint but I think he just wanted somebody to talk to really. I normally tolerate his ramblings as he's useful on DIY stuff I can't do myself!

Rich I expect a holiday like that is your worst nightmare. Where is it? Magaluf? Ibiza?

Richtea19 · 01/02/2017 12:47

Glad you're having the week off, no point in rushing back you don't get any gratitude for doing it and it's best to get better.

They are going to Zante, equally as frightening for me! Thankfully they are going away when we are in the UK rather than when we are away.

kazzaD66 · 01/02/2017 17:02

Yikes Rich! I've got a 13 year old DS, so have all of this to look forward to Confused. No point in rushing back to work early *Ilove, use your time wisely and maybe catch up with a certain DVD?!
Has anyone seen /is planning to see Run the Beast Down? Several reviews are praising the lovely if somewhat hairy BA. Wink

Ilovelblue · 01/02/2017 20:54

kazza I've watched both series 1 and 2 whilst I've been recuperating. I know a lot of you aren't a fan of S2 but I definitely have a thing for Elvis. Not that I've forsaken CJ of course, he's just as gorgeous as ever. When I watched episode 5 of S1, I noticed something I had never noticed before, even though I have lost count of the number of times I have seen it. I know we all laughed about the faux pas of CJ having the cast on the wrong leg but at the time, I only spotted it as they were walking away from the restaurant but last night, I spotted it as CJ got up from the table to greet Molly. Why have I never noticed it before?

icemistOBE · 01/02/2017 20:57

How did you not notice ilove that was the first thing I spotted!

I'm currently watching ep 1 of the 1st series.
Am working my way through both series. Not watched them in a while

What happens in the next 6 months will affect the rest of your lives.... certainly did for CJ & Molly Grin

I must have been too busy looking at his face ice!!

My boss has sent me a really nice email telling me not to rush back to work until I feel properly better.

icemistOBE · 02/02/2017 11:15

Well it is your favourite scene ilove WinkGrin

Rhubarb01 · 02/02/2017 14:20

Sorry to hear you've been unwell ilove but I'm very glad that you're using your recuperation time wisely. Perhaps the NHS should put CJ and Elvis on prescription, preferably repeat prescription - nothing like being addicted to prescription drugs of that kind! Grin

It's blowing up a storm down in the old West Country today and supposed to get worse. This is normal October weather so a bit weird.

Rich my sympathies on the holiday issue - I did have a look at the website out of curiosity Hmm. I was having a bit of a dilemma about whether it would be alright for eldest DD to have a weekend away with her friends in the summer and they are are all sensible girls so not sure what to say about you DS plans apart from the fact that thousands of young people do these holidays every year and seem to have a good time without any problems so the balance of probabilities says it will be ok. Not sure if that's any help but hope so!

I saw an interview somewhere with MK saying she starts filming OG in May? Does that sound about right or a bit later than last year? However, if it is a much longer series I can imagine it would take almost twice as long to write. Would be good to get some casting ideas soon - maybe next month?

icemistOBE · 02/02/2017 16:27

I looked too rhu Shock

I think filming has been pencilled in for April, no cast announcements yet apart from MK but reading between lines I think I know who is back.

I was watching series 1 last night (first 2 eps) still gave me goosebumps watching.

On the theme mentioned before re: being a parent and the things your kids put you through or in some cases threaten to put you through, sometimes I find it so hard being a mother, particularly when something goes wrong for your child and you can't do anything about it. DD came home from school in tears and desperately upset about something that had happened, chiefly that she had been passed over for a really good opportunity that had come up and not for the first time in her school life. It's nothing that I can do anything about or ask questions about and she wouldn't want me to anyway, but it made me cry too. She had been told that she would be sure to have other opportunities but that's what they always seem to think about her. She is a bright and very able student but she always seems to miss out on things and it just hurts her every time. I do my best to be positive and try to think of other things she could do outside of school but I worry it will just make her feel negative about herself in the long-term. I know it's a very small problem in a very big world but it's our world. Sorry to go on - perhaps I could do with a little CJ pep pill to put a spring in my step. Do you think they could condense it somehow into a pill form it would be very handy to keep a pack in my handbag for those off-colour days!

Rhubarb01 · 02/02/2017 19:23

Just seen the info about BA - I reckon he could do with a CJ pep pill himself!
I suppose he's got the 'Queen's Cough' like the rest of the UK.
