PS: I'm with Rhu and ice really on the beard situation but I can take stubble (and would definitely take it from BA).

kazzaD66 · 25/01/2017 11:01

The BBC South East interview with BA is on the BBC iplayer but only until 2pm today. Search under 'South East'. Just listened to the radio Kent interview. Did BA say there would be series 3 and 4 of OG? As to the beard /stubble debate, I prefer him without as much facial hair as he currently is sporting and his curls are getting a little unruly but I still wouldn't say no (in my dreams...!) Hi kazza I caught the 3 and 4 and wondered just what that was about
Perhaps the Aldridge Army have heard something. They are brilliant at keeping us updated

Normally not a fan of beards but those four photos WOW. He can carry any look off!!!

Rhubarb01 · 25/01/2017 15:05

Afternoon. Finally got around to listening to that interview with BA. I do like the way that he is always so polite and enthusiastic about everything.

I wondered whether the "series 3 and 4" was possibly a slip of the tongue intended to mean 3 OR 4 depending on how you look at it. Some people referred to the last series as 3 because they included the pilot episode. Alternatively, I wondered if the mention of a ten part series might actually be 2 x 5 episodes which would allow for a continuing story or even a cliffhanger ending after 5 episodes ...to be continued sort of thing. Don't pay too much attention to me because I know nothing. However, I think it sounds as if BA will reprise his role if it is offered. I do wonder however, how long he can continue with an absentee wife. At some point she has to make an appearance surely? The only worry there is that the role could be recast!! eek imagine how much stick any poor actress would get for not being the real Molly!

icemistOBE · 25/01/2017 21:32

He is so nice in interviews. And that is the real him, he was exactly like that when I met him. But of a cheeky chappy, but very appreciative of all his fans.

This is another interview he did www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/ben-aldridge-run-the-beast-down-video_42730.html expect there may be more when it moves to London next week

Evening all. I just love listening to BA, I let his voice wash over me. He definitely has a "bedtime story" sort of voice.

Did anyone watch the National Television Awards? I get a bit fed up with these things but did watch Lacey Turner pick up her award. She seems very natural - some of the others are a bit OTT. Didn't see any more until about 9.45 though.

Last day in work tomorrow. Will be nice to have a long weekend as it's not been pleasant at work this week.

Really cold here tonight and quite a strong has whipped up in the last hour or so.

Nickel45 · 25/01/2017 23:10

Have a good weekend ilove. I missed the NTA, been making DDs birthday cake for tomorrow ... told her she could have a special treat and decorate it herself (given I'd not have time ... she didn't need to know that)! Finally done, how come these things take so much longer than you think they will! pix how did DSs party go?

icemistOBE · 26/01/2017 20:32

Mums brain tumour is shrinking, so continuing on with the immunotherapy and wait for further scans. Grin

'b' ?

KeziaOAP · 26/01/2017 21:46

So pleased such good news for you ice xx

Ilovelblue · 26/01/2017 21:54

That's very good news ice. My friend's father (who has lung and bone cancer) was told he might be a candidate for immunotherapy. I had never heard of it before. Sadly for him, it turned out he wasn't suitable and is on the standard chemo treatment plan. When are you planning to see your Mum again?

It's been bitterly cold today in the North West. I don't usually complain about the cold but it was a freezing wind. I didn't even go out at lunchtime.

I need to go and pack my holdall for tomorrow and maybe pack my hot water bottle!

icemistOBE · 27/01/2017 07:07

Thanks Ilove immunotherapy is meant to be amazing- and as chemo and radiotherapy didn't work for mum I'll agree, plus no nasty side effects either.
Planning to go mid- march, just need to book Smile

That's fantastic news ice so pleased for you.

I went for a really long walk yesterday and the temperature never went above freezing all day, today's consequence is shaking legs and I just can't get warm. I'm back from work, having a quick scoot about the house tidying and then planning to put my feet up before the boys are home!!!

moojangles · 27/01/2017 19:57

That's great news ice

Ilovelblue · 27/01/2017 22:35

Have you warmed up now Rich? I thought of you tonight. Where we are staying, there is a lovely gastropub attached and two ladies on the next table were telling us about the Real Housewives of Cheshire filming.

We've had a very good shopping and eating day! Been cold but not as bad as yesterday.

Rhubarb01 · 28/01/2017 11:54

Morning all! Happy Weekend! At least the sun is shining here this morning and it's not as cold as it has been. I walked to work on Thursday and the wind was bitter. I arrived with my face and ears absolutely stinging and wishing I'd worn a hat.

Good news about your mum ice. I'm really glad to hear the treatment is doing it's job.

I am off on a shopping quest soon with eldest DD who needs an outfit to wear for a mock job interview. The kids and the school set great store by it and they are expected to turn up looking very smart. I know that at some point I will feel like slitting my own throat this afternoon as apparently one of her friends shopped for five hours and could find nothing. I have told DD bluntly that she'll have to look outside her comfort zone and accept that all the things she normally dismisses as 'work clothes' are probably what she should be looking at on this occasion. All my attempts to suggest that a tidy skirt or trousers, shirt and tidy jumper/cardigan would do have been ignored. Give me strength ladies as I would really like to not fall out with her!

Whatever you are doing, hope you have a nice time.

P.S. still piously keeping up the supply of homemade cakes for my glass dome - I am convinced that they must be better for you because they are home-made (This will last as long as the batch cooking did last January!)

Richtea19 · 28/01/2017 12:42

ilove yes warmed up in the end. It was so cold though!

rhu I feel your pain with your shopping quest today. I have boys but that is equally depressing when all they want are trainers and hoodie tops. Break up the shopping trip with afternoon tea that might help?

ilove any item on the real housewives (our guilty pleasure!) I saw some photos of them at the NTAs looking typically "them".

Off for a walk this afternoon with DH to the pub, we have a voucher for a free bottle of wine that needs to be used in January so we though a late lunch.

Rhubarb01 · 28/01/2017 17:54

Survived it! Funny you should mention afternoon tea Rich because we did just that and surprisingly it all worked out fine and didn't break the bank. We bought a black jacket and skirt (not a suit but they look fine together) and a couple of tops to choose from and she looks pretty smart and seems very happy with her appearance as she normally lives in sports clothes. I could hear my mum in my head sighing and saying that she looks like a young lady at last! DD then mentioned that a Prom dress would be the next big purchase and my heart started to sink again. I know all schools do it now and I also know we won't spend a fortune on it because that's plain daft but it's just so High School Musical compared to my day. All we got at the end of school was a quick shake of the Headmaster's hand and in my case he asked me my name because he didn't know who I was and then said "You can't have got into any trouble then!" Happy days!!!

Ilovelblue · 29/01/2017 22:35

Evening. So much for a weekend away. I'd been home no more than 15 mins when I started being sick and didn't stop till 3.30am! Am totally exhausted and feel as if I've been hit by a train. Think it may have been the salmon risotto yesterday lunchtime, either that or a bug. Definitely not going to work tomorrow that's for sure.

Ilovelblue · 29/01/2017 22:39

Rich the woman in the pub on Friday said her daughter lived near Tanya Bardsley and that during filming, there are always helicopters overhead.

icemistOBE · 30/01/2017 06:45

Oh* no ilove* that's not good. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I should be working today but eldest has been up in the night coughing and complaining of earache - both ears. So will need to stay home.
