Been busy in the garden a large part of the day digging out the first of my compost heaps. It was frosty first thing so it was a good way to keep warm. I was totally kn.....d by the time I'd finished and tidied up.

Had a very nice day today, back at The Clink prison restaurant. Then some shopping afterwards. It was a really miserable and cold day - the sort of cold that goes straight through you, whatever you are wearing.

Rich my neighbour and I have our ladies' shopping/dining weekend coming up next Friday - we're staying about a mile down the road from where you stopped when you came up to view Manchester Uni.

Just been to visit my brother and sils new place. They moved at the weekend. He's a surprised though as the previous occupants have removed everything they could... light fittings, curtain poles, very random!

Not posted properly for ages, Jan is always really busy so I'm shattered when I get home from work.

Photos looked great from The Clink ilove.

Mum has been moved to a nursing home, so much better than being in hospital. In my home town so she should have plenty of visitors. Planning to go over soon. Would love to have gone to see Ben's play but need the cash for flights. Bloody hotel charging £100 for a night!

ilove that was a really nice hotel when we visited the Uni and much better value than a city centre one. DH is going up to Manchester next week to watch a football game and will probably stay there again. I won't suggest you meet him!!!

ice London hotels are a ridiculous price, I guess booking early in advance is always a cheaper option but then you don't always know in advance you want the room!

Bloody pain rich when I stayed last Jan, same hotel was £50! £100 gets me 3 return flights to Dublin!!

Our hotel is in Wilmslow Rich but only a mile or so down the road from that place where you stayed. Did Mr Rich manage to get his own tickets for the match this time? I sooooo impressed myself with my ticket touting skills last time! We are going to eat on Friday lunchtime at the restaurant where we ate with ice as well. It's changed hands since we were there (I have been just before Christmas) but it must have the same chef as we wouldn't have known the place had been sold on.

ice I was about to book a hotel last week for part of my summer holiday to France on the outskirts of London (prior to going on Eurostar) and it had gone up from £82 a night to £134!! Needless to say, I looked for somewhere else a a more reasonable rate for us.

No, no , no, no, no!!! I simply cannot tolerate beardiness and I'm sorry but that picture reminds me of someone I'd rather not say. Might have to start one of those online petitions to ban beardiness. Thank goodness no beard allowed in the army - so all being well come the third series of OG a razor will be employed to good effect.

I think this is the right link. BA was around 14 minutes in and then there was a break for music etc and he was back for the second part. His voice is gorgeous - even if you're not actually taking in what he says!

It's been a stressful afternoon as we had more redundancies announced. I am looking into my pension/redundancy finances to see how I would be fixed if I leave. With the redundancy as a cushion, I could possibly think about something part time and no stress!
