Morning all and Happy 2017. I always forget about fireworks for some reason on New Year's Eve and it was like being in Beirut from around 11.30pm. It was pouring down too so those setting them off would be soaked.

I need to do a grand tidy up today I think and put my Christmas presents away.

Anyone feel delicate today or were you quite restrained?

And round here ilove, but without the rain! Luckily the kids slept through the noise, and are wide awake at 7. They were up till nearly 11, how can they not be shattered? I am!!

Loads of fireworks here too. Way more than normal! Like ilove I totally forgot and the dog was not impressed bless her.
I've started the new year with shortbread biscuits for breakfast!
Does anyone have any plans for today. We wanted to go for a nice walk but it's raining at the moment unfortunately.

I've sent the kids off to watch TV mads, so should probably go back to sleep now rather than messing around on my iPad!!! I'm going to take mine out later, rain or not, they need to run, and being indoors with them is not good for me!!!! Will have to find a walk with a coffee shop attached though! Hope the rain stops so you can get out too.

Loads of fireworks last night, more noise than a display! An eventful evening for us. We went out for lunch so opted to stay in. Eldest son (most of you know what a nightmare he is) went to a party and about 11pm call me to ask to be picked up. "Mum I don't know what's happened but I'm really drunk and sick" bloody child. Fortunately I hadn't had a drink (very unlike me!) so I picked him up. Then up all night making sure he made the bucket! My little one was taking pictures of him, fireworks today of a different variety!!!!

A couple of winter flowering plants in my garden. The first one is almost 30 years old and was 'acquired' out of my godmother's garden after she died. In other words, I nicked it!

Rhu what a great treat for New Year's Day. That update was, in the words of Craig from Strictly, fab-u-lous. I have reviewed but seem to have missed out some words. I'm sure I when I wrote it, it made sense - and I promise, I have not had a drop to drink today.

About to go out on my bike. I seem to have been so lazy these last few weeks but at last my back/leg seem to be almost back to normal. Here's hoping anyway.

Hello everyone.

Been a big tidying up and cleaning day at Ilove Towers. Decorations still up though - I'm quite superstitious that they stay up till 6th January. Back to work tomorrow. The time just seems to have flown by and so typical that my cold has now gone just in time to go back to work.

We do a sale of unwanted Christmas presents at work so it will be interesting to see what turns up. Some of the stuff can be quite good (things like Liz Earle and Clarins - why would you chuck that out) but there can be some truly horrendous gifts too which just make us laugh. Well, you need something to laugh about going back to work in January!

Have a training day tomorrow, to amuse myself I shall see how many OGisms I can get in

I was just wondering if I could perhaps join you ladies?
I've been loitering since OG2 because I was just too shy to say hello, but decided to join MN tonight as I was bored!
I'm a huge OG fan, but don't really know anyone else that's seen it. Managed to convince OH to watch the pilot and S1, but he's not as enthusiastic as me hah! Would be nice to have someone else to obsess over discuss OG and Capt. James with :)

My favourite from S2 is probably "Not like you to turn up on my wedding day" but I think that would be difficult to incorporate!

I polished off the remains of a bottle of wine with my tea and then fell asleep. Think I must have been dozing for about half an hour! Ooops. It didn't help that the cat was curled up on my knee. Think I had better get some coffee to wake myself up a bit.

Evening. Well, I spent all afternoon taking down and packing away the Christmas decorations - it seems to take longer every year. Mind you I spent about a week on and off putting them up only finishing about 22nd December - not because I have such a lot but just because I get fed up doing it on my own.

Thanks for the kind words about the story ilove and ice. I'm ploughing on but I'd be fibbing if I said it was flowing easily. I'll get there in the end.

Watching 'The Halcyon' at the moment. I reckon this is why ITV cancelled 'Home Fires' because they didn't want two dramas set in 1940. It looks promising, possibly a bit predictable but it'll brighten up Monday evenings for a while.

Mooj - just throw an impressed "Epic" in there somewhere, I'm sure you can find a suitable moment.
