Evening. Bletchley was fab. Just need to go back and have a proper look now, by myself. Amazing place.

No much else happening, though, other than the same old! Only a couple more weeks and the kids at off school, so much to do. Could do with CJ shouting at my to get my backside in gear!

Ilovelblue · 06/12/2016 23:50

Glad you enjoyed it Nickel! Amazing to tink how many people worked there ar the height of the war.

Been making a cake and separating raffle tickets tonight. Our fundraising total is £1328 so far since October. We usually make around £250 on the cakes, sometimes more. It depends how many people are in on the day. It's not been quite as time consuming this year as it was last time. I was heartily sick and fed up of the whole thing this time last year.

Ilovelblue · 06/12/2016 23:51

tink - think!

pixieg1rl · 07/12/2016 20:04

Definitely need to find some time to visit there nickel.

I can't believe it's only Wednesday. It's always a long week with MrP away and I'm seriously flagging. I took son and his friend to soft play and then gave them tea. The house is a bomb site, and I've got loads of chores to do, son completely wired and won't go to sleep.

Richtea19 · 07/12/2016 21:30

pixie my house is a bomb site too, half way through Xmas decs, last minute washing for DS as he's off to Switzerland tomorrow. I have managed to write Christmas cards though.

Ilovelblue · 07/12/2016 22:57

I can join in with the bomb site that I live in. There's only me as well so I have no excuse really apart from my back needs rest (no housework is a perfect excuse) plus I have been concentrating on our hospice fundraising - baking, raffle tickets and counting the money. The cake sale went well today and overall, I think we will be able to take in a cheque for £1,650 next week. We are drawing the raffle tomorrow then that's it for the year. I can finish wrapping my Christmas presents then and may even consider putting up my decorations!

KeziaOAP · 07/12/2016 23:24

I love well done on the cake sale a fantastic amount raised for the hospice.

Taking it easy with your back best course of action in my experience.

pixieg1rl · 08/12/2016 11:17

I'm having an absolute shit of a day (went to the wrong town for a meeting, only took me the best part of 2 hours to get there), but I had to hop on and tell you I'm in a room with someone wearing a wolf fleece.

Nickel45 · 08/12/2016 12:03

Woof or orphan?
Hope your day gets better pix, hopefully that's cheered you up xx

pixieg1rl · 08/12/2016 13:24

Hard to tell nickel, stocky bald bloke with a beard and bald head so I'm guessing woof.

moojangles · 08/12/2016 13:40

Loving the wolf!

KeziaOAP · 08/12/2016 15:10

I anyone should happen to want a wolf fleece they are on sale in a local garden centre Hmm Xmas Grin

Richtea19 · 08/12/2016 17:32

Ahh pixie storey it was crap day but you did make me laugh !!

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2016 22:29

pixie what a rubbish day but I had to smile. I hope you've recovered from the indignity of it all.

I've had quite a good day (sorry if that makes you feel worse pixie) but our total for the children's hospice for this year has amounted to £2,050 - that's £1,650 since October and a further £400 at the plant sale in May. We make an event out of the raffle draw as it's the final part of our fundraising and although I like talking, doing it in front of lots of people isn't really my forte so I roped in one of my colleagues who could sell snow to the eskimos and who fronted the event very professionally. The appeals manager from the hospice came along too and I think it's good for our colleagues to hear at first hand how the money we raise is actually spent.

Ilovelblue · 09/12/2016 23:29

Been to the bank this morning and deposited about two thirds of the fundraising money (the rest was already in there).

Horrible day here and never really properly light. Also that miserable drizzle which seeps right through you.

Finished wrapping my Christmas presents tonight and half the cards done. Most of the ones to be posted have gone now fortunately. Don't know about everyone else, but I do seem to have cut down on cards to post out (either that, or people have cut me off their lists so I've reciprocated). I've had people on my Christmas list that I've not seen in years and probably never likely to either. There's one girl I was at school with who insists on sending me a card and I stopped sending her one about 10 years ago but she still carries on. It's over 30 years since I last saw her. Am I just bah humbug?

Richtea19 · 10/12/2016 08:43

ilove I have massively cut down on cards, some that I would normally post I've decided to deliver, in the past I've just been lazy and popped a stamp on, now I'm going to have little drive!!

When it comes to cards the ones I can't stand are when people type up a "round robin" of the year they have had. It is not personal to you but just a general look at me. We have friends that always bleat on about how wonderful their lives are and how well their children are doing at school, bore, bore, bore!!!!!

Icing Xmas cakes today Ince I've seen dad and then a night out tonight with some friends, could be a late one!!

Rhubarb01 · 10/12/2016 10:50

Morning all. MIA for a few days as to be honest I've felt a bit lacklustre about life recently - it happens. Maybe it's SAD syndrome as we're approaching 21st December and it's dark and miserable. We could do with some nice dry, bright weather again. Anyway, popping in to say hello. Interested to hear about everyone's preparations for Christmas and the trip to Bletchley Park - very envious. I reckon we should make it the destination for our first CJ Addicts 'Jolly Day Out'.

There are no decorations here at Lechley Park yet. I will probably wait until next weekend when the kids have finished school with some sort of crazy idea that they'll all be delighted to 'help' me. However, that is never the case anymore - why??

Tomorrow me and the DD's are finally going to the Bath Christmas Market - it's the last day it's open so we really have left it as long as possible. However, the weather tomorrow is supposed to be much better than today so maybe it's just as well. Just need to get there bright and early. I will try to get my techy experts to take some pics and see if I can do a 'first' and upload some photos - don't hold your breath, though.

I will be watching SCD tonight if anyone wants to chat along. As they are all doing two dances there will be a bit more to comment on. I'm rooting for Claudia F (loved their Lion King routine even though I thought I wouldn't and don't get me started on the undermarking!) Sorry, but she's also a local girl so I can't help wanting them to do well, bless their little cotton socks - mind you someone on the SCD thread pointed out that AJ is the same age that Aliajz was when he joined strictly and no one said anything about him being a 'boy' all the time when he danced with Abby Clancy.

I am hoping to update the story today/tomorrow which is somewhat overdue and beginning to feel like a piece of outstanding homework. I also have a lot of mincemeat, star cutters etc and they are just begging to be made into pies but the freezer is a bit full at the moment. However, I do love a mince pie so I might just get tempted this afternoon.....

Maybe, see some of you later if you are SCD watching.

MaddieMoo82 · 10/12/2016 11:26

Morning! Like rhu I have been a bit MIA too. Combination of work being ridiculous and not sleeping well. Lots to worry about... money, family stuff, work, house. Been feeling a bit overwhelmed! But have a few days off next week so hoping to get on top of things so can start getting sorted for xmas. Not planning on putting up xmas decorations till the end of next week as no time or space in the house at the moment! Ds is too little to understand so can get away with it this year.
Well done with your fundraising ilove.. that's an amazing total.
Enjoy the market rhu, went about 4 years ago and loved, although it's probably way bigger now.
Will probably have a nosey of the SCD thread later even though I'm not watching it this year.
Have a good day all

Rhubarb01 · 10/12/2016 18:47

Well, I'm here ready to go if there are any SCD watchers out there. If not, I'll try to just post a few comments now and then and not go too mad.

Rhubarb01 · 10/12/2016 19:01

Don't mind Tess' outfit tonight - less is more!

Rhubarb01 · 10/12/2016 19:11

I'm not sure why I'm watching this as I feel the judges have made up their mind about the scores without seeing the dances. Louise was alright and I thought some of Danny's lifts were a bit messy but he's going to get 10's from most of them anyway.
