Evening all. Am I really the first one on here today? We must all have been very busy.

I've been to the prison restaurant again today with my friend for her belated birthday. I'm not sure how keen she was to go when I first suggested it (and her mother helpfully suggested not taking any credit cards and hanging on to her purse) but she was very taken with it as soon as we walked in so that's a result.

Is anyone watching the Strictly results tonight?

I'm now watching "Close to the Enemy" but have more or less lost the plot now I think.

Sounds like a nice restaurant ilove. I've had a lazy day, got a lie in (yay!), dyed my hair, raked some leaves in the garden. I even got some time to sit down and write (mostly deleted everything I wrote) it's been months since I've done any.

I haven't kept up with Close to the Ememy, we decided to re-watch Outlander instead

Nickel45 · 04/12/2016 19:18

Sounds fab ilove. pix I was jealous with the lie in (still one of my dreams!) but your day sounds lovely too. We went to a production of "the night before Christmas" which was brilliant. Roll on letchley tomorrow! 😀

I've given up on all the Sunday night stuff, currently re watching old episodes of death in paradise!! Hopefully they'll be some good stuff coming up in the new year.

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 19:20

I'm watching the strictly results tonight ilove even though I know the result already but I still quite enjoy all the dancing and tension.

Tess had a particularly strange dress on last night but I though Claudia W looked ok. Not sure about Anton's singing but he just about made it.

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 19:22

I know not everyone was as appreciative of Elvis's assets as myself, Rhu and Rich seemed to be, but I saw this yesterday whilst idling googling:

www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/boy-heartthrob-luke-pasqualino-linked-9373648

Clearly, if it's in the Mirror, it must be true.

Looking forward to any updates pix!

Evening all. I too have had a lazy day, other than hemming cot sheets, sitting by fire catching up with OG ff, good to see excellent CJ/MD stories still being written. Settling down for SCD results rooting for Louise and Claudia, not taken with Danny at all.

Richtea19 · 04/12/2016 19:30

I'm watching the results and yes rhu have a feeling who will be going.!! I'm getting very bored of Danny Mac too perfect.

ilove my dad has been to one of the Clink restaurants before, really good value and such a great concept.

I've had a lazy day today putting up decorations (with the cats help!) and the outside lights with DH, always causes an argument!

The tree looked lovely Ince I had decorated it and then had to put all the kids toot on it, sourdough decorations from 10 years ago, Disney decorations etc... wouldn't be the same without them though!

nickel enjoy your day tomorrow x

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 19:31

I didn't check on the bookies' website today Rhu but my friend had been on the spoilers one instead (she is the one I do the annual bet with).

Need to do some ironing once SCD has finished - there's mountains of it.

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 19:35

I've noticed how much Tess and Claudia are bigging up Claudia F this week after quite a strong social media reaction to perceived undermarking last week - which it was.

I reckon Darcey will harp on about Claudia's lack of chemistry again if they are doing the Rumba next week - that makes me feel a bit nervous for her.

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 19:38

ilove I can actually see LP as Aladdin - could be interesting but is Guy Richie really thinking of making that?

Not enjoying Elaine Paige's singing.

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 19:54

Bye bye Judge Rinder. Bring on the semis and the final as we can't lose on our bet now!!

I'd have a trip on LP's magic carpet if he took on Aladdin any time!!

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 20:15

Indeed ilove I guess that would involve, to quote 'A whole new world', "take you wonder by wonder, over, sideways and under on a magic carpet ride!" Where is woof when she is needed?

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 20:24

Yes, I'd be happy to take one for the team on that Rhu.

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 20:30

You're always so selfless ilove, bless you!

On a serious note, if there's any scrap of truth in that story could it mean we won't see Elvis again? I know that would please some people but it would be a shame to see yet another love interest disappear. I suppose we would get lots of 'mentions' of Elvis in passing although given his job the chances are that Georgie wouldn't see him much anyway.

KeziaOAP · 04/12/2016 20:38

Still see LP as D'Artagnan Wink. If he gets picked for Aladdin would that rule him out of being in Series 3?

rich still have sourdough decorations my two made 30 years ago...... not all in good condition just can't throw them away Xmas Hmm

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 20:41

I had wondered exactly that Rhu but I guess filming on that scale takes months of preparation and the way it read, Guy Ritchie hasn't even been confirmed as the director. I saw an interview on YouTube LP did with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth ??? his wife and when they said "Hollywood will beckon", LP said something like "I certainly hope so". It's got to be better than those dreadful pilot things BA did, or worse, when he did Reign.

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 21:36

I suppose I was thinking more that he wouldn't want to do OG if there was something bigger on the horizon. It might not fit with the plan, if you see what I mean.

Watching 'My mother and ....' and still finding it somewhat boring.

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 22:21

You are probably right Rhu. Only time will tell I guess. When is OG3 filming supposed to start? Is it March?

Loads to do on my day off tomorrow and realise I can't do it all so trying to decide what's the most important and what I actually want to do - it is supposedly my last day's holiday after all. The main issue which I could do to sort but which is definitely work related is my work email which is acting very strange. If somebody on our own site can fix it over the phone, great, but our actual help desk is in a far off land and it can be rather frustrating dealing with them. If they can advise me quickly tomorrow morning, I will be conscientious and do it then.

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 22:23

PS: I don't get "My Mother...." programme. Have I missed something or is it just going too slowly. Why doesn't Mrs Coyne get it together with Capt Dryfuss or whatever his name is?

Rhubarb01 · 04/12/2016 22:49

Yes, there is just something amiss with the whole story ilove in my opinion. Not sure where to begin To be fair, this was the first episode that actually had a few things going on and told us anything about why Rose is even there but I still didn't really get it. However, it's the last episode next week. It has just taken too long to get anywhere and I don't buy the 'romance' or not or whatever it is with the Captain. That US airbase must have the smallest number of aircrew stationed anywhere in the UK. It's just somewhat odd and sadly, not very compelling. I think it had potential to fill the 'Call the Midwife' spot with a few more engaging characters and storylines, plus a bit of humour and a lot less dreariness. I think it's the voice over at the start and finish that make me think its trying to be CTM but it's obviously not.

Ilovelblue · 04/12/2016 23:04

All the talk of LP made me watch ep 3 again as he's in it quite a bit. I shall float away to bed with him now on his Aladdin's magic carpet!

Agree entirely about "My mother.....". We have far better stories in our ff. You should pitch your latest one to the BBC Rhu. It's a vast improvement on the cr*p on the BBC at the mo.

Ilovelblue · 05/12/2016 10:53

Me again. Got my work email fixed remotely over the phone. Was very impressed as the help desk in our far off land is less than impressive!

About to clean the car and do some very gentle gardening so as not to upset my back too much. Then it's mince pie making I think to get me in the Christmas mood (it might take more than a few mince pies if I am honest).

Ilovelblue · 05/12/2016 17:40

How was Bletchley Park Nickel?

user1471547055 · 06/12/2016 18:03

YorksOAP
Afternoon everyone obviously all as busy as each other. Just been out for lunch then came back and got cards into envelopes so halfway there. Had tv screen saved with a picture of BA to help things along!!
If only I lived nearer London I would probably have tried to go to the carol service I was so envious last year, but loved all the photos you lucky ones posted especially the video. Hope you are all ok

KeziaOAP · 06/12/2016 19:10

Had a morning of shopping then lunch with DD, feel absolutely shattered now. Yorks putting off writing cards find it a chore, my late DH and I shared, I wrote the cards and he the envelopes.
