Oh my word, it's cold! Digging out the kids gloves to wear later for school pick up! I'm half way through knitting a pair (it's only take three years!) but they won't be done anytime soon!!

My mum did us stockings till we didn't come home at Christmas, I thought it was fab! Mine are still small enough to still believe which is lovely, although they seem to think £250 Lego isn't unreasonable to ask for as "Santa makes it so it doesn't cost him that". Now need to get out of that one, as Santa is unlikely to even be spending a tenth of that on Lego!!!!

pixieg1rl · 30/11/2016 20:19

I admire your positivity about a happy ending to The Missing tonight Rhu. There's so much to tie up I don't know how they're going to do it.

I've lost all my hand knits nickel. I washed them all in about May and I can't remember where I put them. I may have to get some chunky wool tomorrow and whip up a quick beanie for myself. I am working on a lovely stranded knitting hat but I didn't measure the gauge and it's coming out a bit small l and I haven't the patience to rip it back right now.

Ilovelblue · 30/11/2016 22:10

Haha Rhu I heard that on the Chris Evans show too this morning but for a split second, it didn't quite register why the song had some significance to me. When I realised why I knew the song, I started to laugh and yes, like you I thought of Elvis singing along in his car. When the group sang it in episode 4, I found it a bit cringeworthy to be honest.

I am really sore today so am going to reserve judgement on the physio situation until Friday. I do have a fairly valid explanation if I choose the second physio in that the week after next I would have to change my day, which is day on which my first physio doesn't work at that practice. I'll keep you posted.

Been writing a few Christmas cards tonight but have almost lost the will to live now.

Time for an early night I think.

kazzaD66 · 01/12/2016 13:42

Been having trouble logging on, so a bit behind with the thread, but have any of you logged on to NORAD Track Santa? We've done it for the last few years for DS on the few days leading up to Christmas (for games) and then on Christmas Eve, when children can track Santa as he travels across the globe, from the Pacific westwards. Probably won't do it this year, as DS now 13, but for 8-12 yr olds maybe, it's quite good fun for them.

Nickel45 · 01/12/2016 20:40

I love the Santa tracked kaz, and the last few years we've seen Santas sleigh, aka the space station. Mine are still young enough to believe though 😀

If anyone is in London the night of the 12th December, BA is doing a reading at a carol service, in SW3.

Richtea19 · 01/12/2016 22:13

We used to use the Santa tracker, it so great to see their excited faces!

I'm not far from London but unfortunately won't be able to go on the 12th, so hopefully anyone that does go will get Intel and pictures!!!

Who watched the Missing last night? It was brilliant, packed a lot in but really very good.

pixieg1rl · 02/12/2016 10:43

Having a day off work as it's an inset day at son's school. Off to London; museums and galleries and a bit of Pokémon hunting

Ilovelblue · 02/12/2016 21:43

Well ladies, the dilemma I had regarding the two physios has resolved itself today without me having to make any decision myself. My back and leg have given a lot of discomfort since Tuesday when I had my appointment so I panicked and rang back for advice. I ended up seeing the second physio (as the first one doesn't work at that clinic on a Friday) again and she did some intensive pain relief, including acupuncture. I've never had that before. Who on here has had it? Very odd sensation! One of my male colleagues is having back problems and I told him about it when I returned to work. He must be mid 40s I think and about 6'2" - clearly not good with needles as he almost went green when I told him about the acupuncture!

It's been quiet today on here. What has everyone been up to? Liked your photos on FB pixie!

Nickel45 · 02/12/2016 21:59

Hope you had fun today pix. DH has been out for a meet up with work colleagues (forgot to tell me) and has just come home "early" to help me put the kids to bed. Not sure how much help rolling in an hour after they were in bed actually was, but trying to think he had good intentions?!!?! Can't believe how quickly the days are going, December already, eek! Really must think about Christmas soon 😀

Nickel45 · 02/12/2016 22:00

Did the acupuncture work ilove? Hope you get sorted soon xx

Ilovelblue · 02/12/2016 22:46

The physio did tell me I'd feel sore this afternoon. Apparently, my problem is my "instability". Presuming this is back related rather than my mental state..... who knows though! It's an ongoing situation - thank goodness for private health insurance from work.

I was supposed to be looking after my friend's two kids tomorrow but one of them has apparently been very naughty so has been told he can't come. No idea what this might be so maybe the younger one will spill the beans in the morning. On Sunday, I am going back to The Clink prison restaurant and off on Monday for my final day's holiday of the year.

I'll probably spend some of Monday counting money from our children's hospice fundraising. I think we've made about £1,100 so far since October and have our cake sale on Wednesday for a final push before drawing the raffle and announcing our final total on Thursday. I hate banking the money - it's a complete pain in the neck!

pixieg1rl · 03/12/2016 08:17

I had acupuncture a few years ago ilove as you say it's an odd sensation. I hope you're feeling a bit better today.

moojangles · 03/12/2016 08:47

Hope you're feeling better ilove and good luck with the grand fundraising total

Nickel45 · 03/12/2016 09:39

Have a good weekend everyone. Next week I'm off to Bletchley park, unfortunately not letchley to help on a school trip. Think I'm more excited than i should be! Didn't someone on here go recently?

pixieg1rl · 03/12/2016 09:45

Jealous nickel, well apart from the supervising children part. I think I need to arrange a visit all by myself next year.

Ilovelblue · 03/12/2016 09:49

It was me Nickel. I loved it - far more than I expected to do as well! The house itself was in a very grand setting. Not too far from you really? Had to be an overnight stay for us.

Ooh I'd meet you there pix as always wanted to go but probably a bit far for me for a day trip!!!!

Hope your feeling better today ilove.

moojangles · 03/12/2016 11:05

You'll love it nickel, I had to be dragged out. As for the kids, well....

kuiakaituhi · 03/12/2016 13:12

A heads-up for any fellow Kiwi OG fans. TVNZ has started a rerun of Series One starting around midnight on Wednesdays. I only found out because I woke up with a toothache the other night and turned the TV on while I was waiting for the Nurofen to kick in. Last Wed was the original film, next week off to Brize Norton and Afghanistan.
Those of us with SKY TV can record it.
Must be about to screen Series Two.

pixieg1rl · 03/12/2016 19:16

Anyone for strictly tonight?

Ilovelblue · 03/12/2016 19:24

I'm watching but cooking/eating as well so posts may be a bit sporadic pixie. No sign of Rhu tonight?

Thought Judge Rinder was prepared to give it his all just now!

pixieg1rl · 03/12/2016 19:37

Liked Louise and Kevin. Frankly they're the only couple left in that I care for. Plus, can't go wrong with a Doris Day number.

moojangles · 03/12/2016 19:37

Sorry pix, not quite my bag!

Quiet day of mooching about today, MrM a bit broken after 22 hour shift & I really don't need an excuse to do nothing at the moment. Work frantic, got a trip with 50 odd not so little bleeders coming up & my health a bit off at the mo. Nothing sinister but something's not right, so got another round of blood tests next week.
Contemplating rewatching The Missing. Have given up on the Sunday night nonsense programme but really enjoying Close to the Enemy.

Ilovelblue · 03/12/2016 19:49

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Kevin and Louise win pix.

Sorry you're under the weather mooj. A good idea to take things easy when you don't feel well.

I'm kn.....d after looking after my friend's little boy. He made me laugh almost all day but we were looking at some old photos of when his Mum was young and my own Mum was in one of the photos. He asked who it was and then asked where she was so I explained she was no longer here and he said was she in heaven. It just caught me unawares I think. He didn't see me wipe a few tears away fortunately.

Rhubarb01 · 03/12/2016 20:28

Evening. I am around although I was supposed to be out tonight (Christmas Do - but it was cancelled although not too sorry about that). I watched SCD. Don't really know what to say about it. I thought Ore's dance was a bit boring and the 'flowers' got in the way. Judge Rinder should probably go tonight in my opinion. I enjoyed Louise but as Len said it was a bit of a show number rather than a ??? quickstep? Claudia's very good and I think she's always undermarked and the judges are always negative to her. Last week was the worst example. I think the marks this week were fair enough though. Danny, well I don't really pay much attention although it's always very fast and I thought it was too fast for a tango but he's obviously their favourite so he's bound to be in the final.

I've had a run of bad nights sleep as my dog's been poorly for a few days and has needed to go out frequently during the night and been very restless but he's getting better now after another visit to the vet's so hopefully that's an end to the disturbances.

I was happy with the ending of 'The Missing' as I thought it brought pretty much all of the strands together although I'm still unconvinced about the trip to the theme park that the three girls went on. From what was said it seems unlikely it would have happened and if Alice was so feisty I'm surprised she didn't make a break for freedom when they went.

I agree with you mooj about Sunday night drama but will probably watch to the bitter end. (I reckon the main motivation for making it was funding from the Northern Ireland film board or something!) and yes, 'Close to the Enemy' is hotting up a bit in more ways than one. Cal's head needs a brace but I'm liking the intrigue.
