ilove Jock merchandise all over the shop, t towels, cards, cuddley toys etc. I'm a sucker for anything cat and especially ginger pus, so I bought Jocks Ginger Marmalade!!

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2016 22:04

I too love ginger cats - if I'd known, I'd have asked you to get me a tea towel! The day we went, Jock had been seen earlier that morning but as I said, he was fairly new in post.

Bye bye Ed Balls! If Judge Rinder goes next week, we are definitely quids in on our bet. Ore and Louise would give the best returns, but either of the others would be ok.

Rhubarb01 · 28/11/2016 19:24

Evening. Just popping in to say hello as it's very quiet on here.

Yes, goodbye to Ed. We enjoyed it while it lasted but it was definitely time to go. I think it's time to concentrate on the dancing.

The Sunday night drama " My mother and other strangers" isn't getting any better in my opinion. I found myself humphing a bit in places. I honestly cannot believe that there is supposed to be an attraction between the Rose character and the American and at what point will someone explain why she is married to that grumpy Irish man in the back of beyond? (I suspect we might find out something next week when the flighty sister arrives but I'm not sure I'll care by then and it will almost be over). I still think this is a drama that's been broadcast at a different time than it was written for if you see what I mean - just judging by the stories, the old man voice overs, the language or lack of it and the obvious lack of any..ahem...physical scenes. Weird and I'm sorry but dreary.

On another note as I was driving home from work tonight the first song on after the news was 'Don't go breaking my heart'. Apart from turning it up loud and singing along I was struck by how apt some of the lyrics were for OG1 (forget the bit about 'ooh I gave you my key'} Just odd phrases that reminded me of little bits of the story but one verse

CJ "So don't misunderstand me"
MD "You put the light in my life"
CJ "Oh you put the spark to the flame"
MD "I've got your heart in my sights"

Cheesy but true!! Smile

Busy few days. K voted for Louise on Sat- I gave him my phone and he did it all himself. He did say Ed should have stayed because he did gangnam style Grin

Anyone been reading Fate on FF? Am loving it!! My current fave story on there.

Everyone must be busy getting ready for Christmas! I'm currently trying to get a Christmas stocking finished for a friends daughter, just crocheted squares, but so many ends to sew in .... Ugh, I hate sewing in ends!

MaddieMoo82 · 28/11/2016 22:11

I feel you pain nickel cane up with stupid idea of making crochet baubles for the tree... loads of colour changes and ends. Most can be hidden but even so it's a faff!

Hardly watched any Tv at the moment so feel out of the loop with all the new programmes on, looking forward to some Christmas telly though!

user1471547055 · 28/11/2016 22:14

YorksOAP
Evening. Yes I am enjoying Fate but don't want the chapter to stop. There are one or two others at the moment which I like, good job as there is hardly anything on tele I can get interested in.

Not even any new pics of CJ either. Will just have to get on with Christmas preparations it just seems a bit early. DH thinks December needs to be here before he gets interested. Nothing interesting to say but best wishes all. Goodnight

Ilovelblue · 28/11/2016 22:31

Meant to post this yesterday. It was in a farm shop near where we had lunch. Stags abound.

I've been wrapping Christmas presents up tonight. I just felt in the mood and had enough patience. I find it quite enjoyable so long as I am in the right frame of mind. I had done a small hamper of bits and pieces I had bought in French supermarkets for one of my friends but ended up opening one of the small bottles of wine whilst I was putting it all together. Hmmm, need to find something to fill that gap now!

KeziaOAP · 28/11/2016 23:04

Internet connection problems here keeps dropping out Angry. Given up on "My mother and other strangers" couldn't get into it at all! Christmas and baby shopping with DD today she's only got five weeks to go and is doing well now.

Talking about Christmas stockings, those of you who have adult /older children do you still fill stockings for them? I do for mine and their partners even though they are 32 and 36.

Ilovelblue · 29/11/2016 08:29

Morning from a very frosty Lancashire. About to go out to de-ice the car. Having traction today to try to release the trapped nerve in my back. Sounds delightful (not).

pixieg1rl · 29/11/2016 08:29

My parents stopped giving me a stocking when I was about 9 kezia!

MaddieMoo82 · 29/11/2016 09:26

Same pix!! I work with a few who still get brought advert calendars and get very grumpy if their parents forget Grin

pixieg1rl · 29/11/2016 09:39

Blimey mads. It's a miracle they're grown up enough to have an adult job. Grin

I got a Star Wars Lego advent calendar for son this year. He doesn't know yet. He could be excited by this or grumpy because he hasn't got a chocolate one. We'll find out on Thursday.

I quite like the idea of a bit of traction on my back ilove. I hope it's not too bad for you.

MaddieMoo82 · 29/11/2016 10:37

Yeah I do wonder sometimes pix, although sometimes I'm a tad jealous of how well they get looked after!!
Ooh I bet he will love it pix. Im hanging off from as much Christmas stuff as possible till ds understands although a few people have told me im being mean by not taking him to santa... Hmm
How the back traction goes well ilove and you get a good looking therapist! Wink

KeziaOAP · 29/11/2016 11:09

I love hopefully traction will ease your back, certainly did for me for a while, ended up having lower back op with four six inch rods screwed in, gave me a new lease of life able to garden and take walks without being in pain.

pix until my father died 15 years ago he was still filling Christmas stockings for me and siblings full of useful and sometimes standing joke items Smile

icemistOBE · 29/11/2016 11:18

I do a stocking for me and hubby as well as boys. Just small stuff- sweets, key ring, something funny

I've never taken mine to see Santa although they go with grandparents to do a Santa Express at the local steam railway. K was never keen on seeing him.

I've now watched the CBeebies Peter Pan panto from 2 years ago, 3 times today. I know all the songs and words ConfusedShock

My mum used to do a stocking for my sister and myself until I got married! I was living with DH at the time and mum would give the stocking to him to put at the bottom of the bed!!!!

I still do for the boys but did say this year perhaps Father Christmas wouldn't visit as they are teenagers... you of seen their faces! Not happy. It gets expensive as they get older, so I stick with sweeties, underware, socks and smellies! Santas cutting back this year!

pixieg1rl · 29/11/2016 12:44

I didn't do a chocolate advent calendar until he was about 3 mads (and because I'm not keen on chocolate every day I think we were still opening the bloody thing in February). I think he's going to like this year's; I know I'm excited to have a Luke Skywalker mini figure by the end of it!

We do take him to see Santa, just a thing in the local garden centre that's run by the rotary club. It's not very flash (there's a limit to how festive you can make a poly tunnel) but he loves it.

MaddieMoo82 · 29/11/2016 13:48

I think I'll take him to santa next year pix, he gets a bit shy around new things and is likely to run off screaming! Was looking to get a calender with toys in but it cost £25 so that's a no I think!

No need starting anything he won't understand yet Mads. He'll be fascinated enough with the tree/wrapping paper/boxes the presents come in for now.

Ilovelblue · 29/11/2016 22:59

Late checking in here tonight as have been out with friends for a meal to beat the Christmas party season (we are a bit bah humbug about Christmas music etc).

My physio (sorry Maddie, it's not some CJ lookalike but a very nice lady who I have seen over my shoulder problem a couple of years ago and then now about my back) was held up in traffic this morning so I saw one of the others and she had a completely different approach. I didn't have traction. My physio is good but I actually thought this one was better. Don't know what I should do about the next appointment - what's the etiquette? Who should I see?

KeziaOAP · 30/11/2016 09:04

That's a difficult one I love, how long have you been seeing the first physio? Was it the treatment she gave or her? Did she say why she didn't do the traction, could be she wanted to leave that to your usual one. More to the point how does your back feel this morning?

Thermals on this morning ladies -8°C Shock.

Rhubarb01 · 30/11/2016 09:52

Morning! Very cold here too but quite seasonally festive in appearance (December tomorrow eeek!) I am unexpectedly home this morning due to a minor pet emergency necessitating an early visit to the vet - but all is ok. Anyway, this meant reorganising my working day and I have to go in this afternoon instead. I should do some much needed housework but have settled down for a cup of coffee and a 'chat' first.

Chris Evans just played The Kooks 'She moves in her own way' and I was right there sat next to Elvis in the car singing along - I prefer that scene rather than the sad, muttered version at the hotel in Kenya.

Now Ilove your dilemma reads a bit like one of those AIBU threads - you could try that for answer, or maybe not - perhaps you should go back to see your normal physio but just mention casually that the new one did something different and it seemed to make a difference "Would it be worth giving that another go?" and then you can give her the option to try the same treatment without causing offence. This reminds me of going to the same hairdresser for ages and then deciding you want someone else to cut your hair but are worried they will be offended when you book with someone else. For that reason I never book with the same person twice. (p.s. thanks for the story comments!)

Christmas stockings - yes definitely for the kids still even though they are teenagers. They say they like that bit best because they have no idea what I will put in there. Generally, if there is something bigger that they want it's no surprise but these days even that seems to be a problem, they don't really want anything! Advent calendars - yes chocolate ones, definitely. They would get the hump with me if I didn't get them one.

As I previously mentioned I didn't watch 'Rillington Place' but I read some comments on the TV thread on here about it and there's one chilling story on there about a current radio presenter whose parents were shown a room to rent in the house by Christie but thankfully turned it down as the place gave them the creeps.

Last episode of 'The Missing' tonight - hope it all gets resolved and Alice is rescued - could it be that simple?

Have done my voting in the RT fandom - bet you can't guess which 'Captain' I chose! Might put in a few more votes before the day is out, though.

Well, better get on and do some tidying up .

Stay Alert, Stay Focused, Stay Warm!! Smile
