Trailer of lots of people with angst and not Phil Collins here. There's another trailer on the Homeland FB page but I can't find a non-FB page to link to. 15th January in US so I reckon 22nd for us - it's usually a week later.

So - Salieri/Dar Adul features prominently and Carrie has some issues with him. Someone's having a torch shone on their pupils - does that mean Quinn's alive but non-responsive? Baby Brodie is now school-aged. Could I be more excited?

Everyone seen episode 2?

Lweji · 24/01/2017 22:13

Tomorrow for me, if I manage to stay awake. It's at 11pm here.

Lweji · 25/01/2017 00:41

Re-re-watching the first episode.

Saul and Adal mention the first debate between the new President-Elect and Hoynes.
Hoynes was also the name of the Vice-President to Bartlett in West Wing. :) Ahhhhh.

OneWithTheForce · 25/01/2017 01:34

Sunday for me. diddl are you in the US?

GypsyFl0ss · 25/01/2017 05:33

Lweji I thought it rang a bell!

diddl · 25/01/2017 09:29

Sorry, I meant has anybody seen ep2?

I haven't, but hadn't read all of this thread in case there were "spoilers" iyswim.

I almost gave up after the first 5mins of Carrie going on & on & on.

When the nurse told her to stay away I wanted to cheer!

KittyOShea · 25/01/2017 19:03

I have seen episode 2.

No spoilers but it is an improvement on what I thought was a disappointing episode 1.

Fiderer · 25/01/2017 20:57

I thought there was something a bit off but I think I say that always at the start :)

Since when did Carrie - blimey she's so annoying - go from Drone Queen to Ms Noble? What did you do for Otto anyway? Intelligence advisor?

Saul looked lovely in his suit.

MercyMyJewels · 26/01/2017 10:03

Not that impressed, hope it improves. I don't like Quinn being mental. Or the Tash

Who was Dar meeting at the end?

Hair was killed at the end of the last one, wasn't she? She is in the new 24 Legacy series.

Fiderer · 26/01/2017 10:09

Dar met with Saul.

Do not like new damaged Quinn. Needs a shower, hair cut & shave. Is he a bit podgier?

Fiderer · 26/01/2017 10:11

Ah you meant ep.1. Evil associates of Dar, a defence general (?))

FoolandFitz · 26/01/2017 19:06

Finally watched Ep 1 last night.

Madam President Elect will always be Alicia Corwin from Person of Interest to me.

I love the idea of Quinn as roadrunner spotted although he looks more like wile e coyote.

cocolepew I enjoyed the episode too, although Quinn's scenes were a bit grim. Is he hallucinating because of the brain damage or is it the drugs or both? I liked it when Carrie told him to get a shower as that was my thought exactly. I feel the same about James Delaney in Taboo

Who were all the middle aged men meeting with Dar?

And I really couldn't get a grip on the time line between the last episode of the last series and this first episode. Anyone worked out how long it's been? I can't remember how old Frannie was in the last series - didn't she have a birthday party?

Cocolepew · 26/01/2017 19:29

I think Otto said something to Carie about 3 months . I don't know if he hadn't seen her in three months, or she had been in her new postion for 3 months.

OneWithTheForce · 26/01/2017 19:34

Am I right in thinking franny attended some kindness of pre-kindergarten school in Germany?

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 20:13

Coco I remember reading (I think) that Series 6 would be set 'mere months' after the end of Series 5, so that would tally...

Dar met with an army man, and a senator I think.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 20:19

Three months makes sense, considering Quinn's condition.

I thought Dar said that Saul was not invited to the meeting at the end of the episode.

Cocolepew · 26/01/2017 20:20

I was confused because I thought Frannie would be younger.

Hassled · 26/01/2017 20:26

I know we've only seen a couple of glimpses of Franny but she does seem to old/big compared to Berlin Franny to tally with the only a few months post-Berlin timespan. Maybe the actress just had a massive growth spurt.

Glad someone else got stupidly excited when Vice President Hoynes was mentioned :o

Lweji · 26/01/2017 20:56

I think it will be more than 3 months, but not sure.

Who were all the middle aged men meeting with Dar?

At least one was that Congressman/Senator that met with Saul. Generals, CIA, State Department? Essentially the Establishment, I think.

Lweji · 26/01/2017 20:57

I thought Dar said that Saul was not invited to the meeting at the end of the episode.

It looked like the other guy had met with Saul to invite him to the meeting. But, based on Saul's answers, he decided not to.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 21:01

I wonder if maybe Saul will end up frozen out of CIA and working with Carrie .

Hassled · 26/01/2017 21:05

Didn't Dar say something along the lines of "we don't need Saul for this"? It was all a bit symbolic, the shutting of the door. And yes, that's a good opener for Saul going rogue. And getting kidnapped, as he invariably does.

Lweji · 26/01/2017 21:16

I hate it when you all start with theories and I've watched the next episode. I might have to hide the thread.

who am I kidding?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 21:17

I do hope he's not going to get himself kidnapped again.

I mean, once is unfortunate, but twice would be sheer carelessness.
