Trailer of lots of people with angst and not Phil Collins here. There's another trailer on the Homeland FB page but I can't find a non-FB page to link to. 15th January in US so I reckon 22nd for us - it's usually a week later.

So - Salieri/Dar Adul features prominently and Carrie has some issues with him. Someone's having a torch shone on their pupils - does that mean Quinn's alive but non-responsive? Baby Brodie is now school-aged. Could I be more excited?

Saul had already been chucked out of the CIA once, hasn't he? After Brody was hanged. Then he did one series as a private contractor , then he was back inside. Mind you Carrie has been in and out too, hasn't she?

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 21:19

Oh god, when he was kidnapped before - that was so upsetting! It was like someone torturing both your grandad, and your favourite teddy bear.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 21:21

Yes, Carrie was in then, so now they could both go rogue.

Now, Saul being a baddie, this might get interesting, because outside the CIA he won't be much use to the other baddies and he has to do something truly spectacular to earn his keep.

Hassled · 26/01/2017 21:43

I had it in my head that Saul has already been kidnapped twice, but now I can't think when or where. I am losing my marbles these days.

Well time when he was def kidnapped.

Was time 2 when he got 'kidnapped' in the hotel lift but wasn't really?

Hassled · 26/01/2017 22:03

When was the airport bathroom kidnap? Was that the "proper" kidnap?

OP posts:
ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:03

That was the proper one.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:04

Don't recall the hotel lift one, was that his Mossad mates?

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 22:11

Yep, he phoned for his laundry then Israel kidnapped him.
But I've forgotten why. But it was planned, and the Israeli chap (Etai? ) was his old pal.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 22:12

Oh, and we didn't know if he was going to defect.
But then he didn't.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:13

Oh yes, the laundry.

But why I don't remember either.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 22:23

It was that pesky Dar, wasn't it -and glorious Hair. She convinced Dar that Saul was actually siding with Israel and maybe an informant and about to defect. So they shut him out. And saul was going to be taken back (to USA? ) but the would be a bad thing for some reason.

And then the laundry thing happened, and we were lead to believe that maybe he HAD defected after all.
But of course he hadn't, for he is Saint Saul of Snacks.

Hassled · 26/01/2017 22:24

I'm in serious danger of sounding like a batty old woman at a bus stop - "Saul was kidnapped possibly more than once but I don't remember why or when or who by - you know Saul, he's the one with the beard and his wife was a bit of a one, can't remember what happened to her either..."

Yes. And Hair was a female Trump a Russian double agent.

Fiderer · 26/01/2017 22:32

Has ep2 aired in the UK yet?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:33

No.
Not a word about it, or you'll end up in a laundry basket.

Hassled · 26/01/2017 22:33

No, we're hanging on in there till Sunday. So not fair.

Fiderer · 26/01/2017 22:35

OK, thanks

Agree with "Hassled" - considering the amount of time we spend on these threads some of us have rotten memories Grin

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 22:39

I LOVED his wife (Mira). I loved her a lot as she (the actress) was in something else that I loved.
But - and you might know where this is going... I've forgotten what that was.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:40

Sad but true.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/01/2017 22:40

She was having an affair, wasn't she? And of course the chap was a spy/agent/informant.
His name began with a vowel, I'm pretty sure of that.

Fiderer · 26/01/2017 22:40

THE MNAgency would be spectacularly crap Grin

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:42

Yes, she was recently in something, but she didn't have her usual look.
I recognised her by her voice.

I might have been on Netflix thought.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/01/2017 22:43

No it was a D his name started with.
