Trailer of lots of people with angst and not Phil Collins here. There's another trailer on the Homeland FB page but I can't find a non-FB page to link to. 15th January in US so I reckon 22nd for us - it's usually a week later.

So - Salieri/Dar Adul features prominently and Carrie has some issues with him. Someone's having a torch shone on their pupils - does that mean Quinn's alive but non-responsive? Baby Brodie is now school-aged. Could I be more excited?

That makes perfect sense, Zebra.

Hello all, just checking in as I too am a long time Homeland groupie. I'm with Cocolepew and others in my firm distrust of Saint Saul though - there wree too many dodgy events in series1 and 2 which implicate him, IMO. He is in it for the very log game I think. When his betrayal is finally revealed, that will break Carrie's heart I reckon Shock.

DH and I were a bit meh at yesterdays's epidode: Wasn't overly impressed at the Teflon nature of Quinn's character. It's just a matter of time before he is miraculously cured of all his ailments and firing on all cylinder back in the folds of black ops and espionage. Which is silly.

There wasn't much action yesterday - they need it! Also not too keen on Otto's character. I wish they could bring back some of the earlier characters like Estes and Farah (both of whom are dead - then again we thought Quinn was too) and the lovely Virgil. I also really like Carrie's sister.

Is this series going to be about Syria and ISIS? and Presidential stuff?
One thing is certain though, in my view: Saul is BAD. He is a double agent.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 23/01/2017 12:40

Great insight about Saul, Pepper.

GypsyFl0ss · 23/01/2017 13:18

I agree pepperpot about Saul. That makes four of us now Grin

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 13:22

Yes episode 1 was a real damp squib. It should have been explosive and left us with a cliffhanger.

Lweji · 23/01/2017 13:30

Is this series going to be about Syria and ISIS? and Presidential stuff?

I think this is back to proper Homeland territory.
A rogue President and homegrown terrorism.

Cocolepew · 23/01/2017 16:37

Welcome pepperpot Grin
Of course Dunbar, thanks.
Am I the only one who enjoyed it? Sad

Lweji · 23/01/2017 16:39

I think it was ok, although Quinn made me depressed.
Too soon for a cliffhanger, although that last conspiratorial meeting was close enough for me.

ihatethecold · 23/01/2017 18:09

I just thought it was dull all round.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 23/01/2017 18:12

I liked it, but the Quin storyline is so depressing. It makes you think, if someone from the CIA, who has done so much for his country is treated like this, then what happens to the hundreds of other, less decorated but of course no less deserving, veterans?

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 18:19

Does anyone know, did Quinn have a stroke? Did that/whatever happened, affect his personality? I found it really odd when the hospital porter was sneaking him out of the hospital into the car with the prostitute, Quinn was behaving all giggly and giddy. Was he already high at that point? His behaviour was just not Quinn as we know him at all. Total personality change which I can only assume is injury related?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 23/01/2017 19:06

I thought he had some brain damage from the sarin.

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 19:07

Doh! Of course! That makes total sense.

Cocolepew · 23/01/2017 19:31

Too much Quinn will end up being annoying I think.

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 19:48

I want earth angel to come back and sweep Carrie off her feet. He worked for Otto's foundation didn't he? Was he a lawyer? There is scope for him still to be 'around'. He was really 'grounding' for Carrie I felt.

TheSpottedZebra · 23/01/2017 20:45

There's enough hotness around without Earth Angel, I think. We have Otto, who is much improved. The senator, the lawyer chap with Carrie... All will be good.

Quinn's brain issue comes fro when they bought him out of his coma too soon to get info about the sari attack. The doc warned that he might slugger a haemorrhage -and then he did. So he has that, plus the neuro issues from the satin.

TheSpottedZebra · 23/01/2017 20:46

FFS - SARIN! Our Quinn was not done for by the haberdashery department!

GypsyFl0ss · 23/01/2017 21:04

I thought Quinn was very well acted apart from his weak leg which seemed a bit intermittent. Carrie and the nurse made me smile...she's still argumentative and always right. Nothing changes. Overall I liked it and think it's got potential. Hate creepy Otto though!

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 21:35

Carrie is the definition of "entitled" the way she speaks to people and the faces she pulls at them! Grin she would not have an easy ride on MN!

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 21:36

I agree, Otto is a bit creepy. Do we think there is going to be some revelations there? Is he more involved in the whole thing than we know?

Cocolepew · 23/01/2017 21:57

SatinGrin
Remember when otto tried to talk EA out of his relationship with Carrie? Sneaky.

GypsyFl0ss · 24/01/2017 06:15

I think Ottois behind terrorism whilst acting under the guise of a philanthropic nice guy.

SmellTheGlove · 24/01/2017 08:54

I am not sure if I can stomach a crack riddled giggling Quinn to be honest. My heart is a tiny bit broken. Also SAUL IS NOT BAD. He is a cuddly bearded teddy bear END OF.

OneWithTheForce · 24/01/2017 08:56

I think so gypsy. No-one is all good in homeland. Apart from earth angel. But he's an angel.
