I've seen an advert that says it returns in November, anyone know what date?

Really looking forward to its return! Anyone else?

Re Oscar - each section is seen from that person's perspective (I particularly like how clothes change. Alison's shoes and skirt in the first half were particularly 'square' / plain whereas she was quite stylish from Cole's perspective. Helen was very glasses / arty Brooklyn style from Alison's perspective). Anyway, Oscar is acceptable from a male - Cole - perspective but we (i.e. Women) see him as a sleaze because we've seen him from the female perspective. It's the Trump locker room talk.

LemonBreeland · 19/01/2017 15:06

I love how the clothes change in the different perspectives too. I think Cole is staying with Luisa so he can still be seen as a good guy.

Alison thinking of taking a job miles away was totally crazy. She could at least do it part time and only be away when Joanie is at Coles.

I do prefer the episodes without Noah as he is just really hateful.

Surreyblah · 19/01/2017 15:17

I think Cole could soon crack up again, eg that new jobsworth in the building inspection office could tear his building down and it could be the straw that broke the camel's back.

LemonBreeland · 19/01/2017 15:22

I thought that Cole was a bit too calm with the building inspector, I expected him to fly off the handle a bit more tbh.

EachandEveryone · 19/01/2017 17:25

Is he proper loaded now?

Allthebestnamesareused · 19/01/2017 20:00

I have stopped watching - it just got too dull -

jardy · 20/01/2017 20:38

I enjoyed it very much.Helen seems traumatised by the violent sex .
I felt the counselling given to Dawn was very touching.
Cole goes back to Luisa but neither are happy.
Alison is one of those annoying women that men fall for hard but eventually become disillusioned because women like her are just so selfish.

GreedyDuck · 24/01/2017 09:43

Am I the only person still watching this? Great episode last night. I still hate Noah, even yesterday's episode couldn't make me feel any sympathy for him. I am properly mean.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 24/01/2017 10:12

I'm still watching greedy.

Agree with you, last night's episode was a good one

MrsJW15 · 24/01/2017 11:33

Yesterday's episode made me cringe But it was a good one. Seems that Noah may have imagined a lot.

GreedyDuck · 24/01/2017 12:28

Interesting to see the glimpse into Gunther's homelife, and I'm glad that Alison told Helen, and I'm glad hot Vic might not be completely out of the picture. Can't believe it's already the penultimate episode of the season.

Delatron · 24/01/2017 13:27

So the question is how much is imagined by Noah? Was Gunther really that horrid to him in prison and is it only after prison he is hallucinating? Due to trauma/ high dose painkillers? Indications (the car, his neck) are that he is imagining all of it.

Helen's been a real dick towards hot Vic, I hope he forgives her though as he's good for her.

i find it interesting how much confident Alyson appeared in Helen's version.

InTheMoodForLove · 24/01/2017 13:41

I agree, Alison never wears that much make up

I think it was all in his head, doesn't make much sense, timeline wise, as I thought it was mainly the painkiller giving him hallucination

also he was really hurt / beaten in Jail, Helen saw that too during visits ?!

Not sure that narrative arch was needed, why oh why, Noah was enough of an arsehole already without having to be a broken / beaten sobbing one

me think

MrsJW15 · 24/01/2017 14:06

I'd forgotten that Helen had seen him really beaten up in prison. My reading of last night was that he'd totally imagined a lot of what had happened in prison. But maybe the point is that he just can't remember what's true and what isn't.

The different versions of Helen and Alison's meeting were so interesting!

NotPennysBoat · 24/01/2017 14:08

I am so confused! So is Gunther a good guy, a bad guy, or a 'nothing' guy just a figment of Noah's imagination??

Delatron · 24/01/2017 14:20

Yes true, so he must have been beaten in jail as Helen saw the injuries. I also wondered though about when he wasn't given a drink for days and had to drink his own piss, could that have even been allowed to happen in a jail? Surely he could have called for help. It seems the only person he interacted with in jail was Gunther.

To me it seemed Alyson even talked differently in Helen's version, louder, more of a twang?

shortsaint · 24/01/2017 20:24

I read it as becoming a study in mental illness.

I thought Noah has had a major breakdown, he buried the memory of 'murdering' his ill mother. He escaped to Uni, married Helen. The affair with Alison has triggered his breakdown.

They're all tortured (apart from possibly Cole, though his brother was). Helen = major dysfunctional family (which she's replicating in her own children), Alison = overcome with grief over the death of her son.

We see their lives unravel each from their own perspective...

Surreyblah · 24/01/2017 22:35

Maura Tierney was good in this one, really enjoyed the scenes with her crazy, controlling parents. Glad she has told the truth, but puts her DC in a very difficult position of having to be complicit in the lies or risk both parents being jailed for perjury/the offence.

I still don't like Vic. Cold fish.

Feel v sorry for Noah, and do think he was physically harmed somehow in prison, probably by gunther.

Did he really "murder" his mum? Or is that his mind messing with him?

diddl · 25/01/2017 10:01

So was there no serious injury to Noah, but he had injured himself a little & it became infected?

I don't know why I'm watching anymore as I can't remember anything!!

Why didn't they report the accident-because Helen was over the limit?

Because Noah saw that Alison had pushed Scot?

Wonder if Cole will ever found that out & what he would think of Alison?

I guess he would still blame Noah for not driving Alison home?

Why was she walking & Noah & Helen together??

Alison seemed the only together one!!Shock

TheHiphopopotamus · 25/01/2017 12:50

I have absolutely no idea what's going on Confused it's so much easier to follow everything when you can binge watch it all in one go.

The thing that stood out for me though (and this has happened in previous recollections too) was that in Helen's version, Alison admitted to pushing Scotty in front of the car. Whereas, in Alison's version, that whole conversation didn't happen (I think? As I said, it's hard to remember from week to week).

That's quite a big thing to own up to. Would you really not remember or admit to yourself even, that that had happened?

Delatron · 25/01/2017 14:50

Yes that confused me too, so Helen confessed in Helen's version but not Alison's?

Surreyblah · 25/01/2017 16:38

Helen thought Noah had gone to jail for her, but has now found out it was for Alison, or perhaps both of them. Perhaps now and after the sexual assault she'll finally stop hoping he'll come back!

Who do we think was running after Noah in the hallucination/flashback ("what have you done"?) his father? Seemed younger, a friend perhaps.

Surreyblah · 25/01/2017 16:39

Apparently the finale is about Noah, bah.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2017 19:52

So Noah stabbed his self

Totally imagined everything / is that it?

And yes HELEN reliesed that Noah went to prison for ALISON as well as her

EachandEveryone · 25/01/2017 22:23

I ended up fast forwarding the Noah section its just messing with me head!
