I've seen an advert that says it returns in November, anyone know what date?

Really looking forward to its return! Anyone else?

Are you watching Graham Norton? Ruth Watsons lip is very distracting

Ffs season finale focusing on French woman and her hubby???!!!! Really?!

What an absolute crick of shit this ending was. Sums up the series for me. Shit.

Just caught up!

I'm going to go against the grain, i really enjoyed this season and enjoyed the last episode. Looking forward to what season 4 brings.

However have to say, Noah has had three chance encounters with Whitney. The first time when he was on his book tour, they just happened to see each other outside his hotel. Second time was at the pool party, and then lastly in Paris! What are the chances..three chances Hmm

Complete shite. I'll never get that hour of my life back.

I think that was my main issue with the finale. There was just nothing 'final' about it. A finale should end things or leave you guessing as to what happened next. This did neither.

Couldn't agree more Ms.

I'm just watching the last one. Christ it's beyond boring that I'm half on here and half watching. You expect a finale to have something about it but it's a load of shit.

It was a shambles

I'm watching the last episodes now - dull as fuck, what was the point of this entire season? Loved season 1 & 2 wasn't too bad, but this is a pile of shite now.

I don't know where another season could possibly go I'm still so upset by his quick recovery. How did he even get with the French colleague enough to be having a full blown love affair in Paris, where and when did it start? I remember him in therapy in season 2 saying that Helen was on safari honeymoon in Africa was that a lie then?

Confusing and dull yes. Disjointed too.

I've never liked any of the main characters, but then we all have flaws (not necessarily manslaughter or infedility).

Whitney was a brat so was pleased she improved in those last moments

Pacey is such a miserable fuckwad in this. He was much more fun in Dawson's

Alison is annoying and Helen is a doormat

Don't even get me started on Noah!

That said I loved S1 but my affair with The Affair began to dwindle in S2

I found it refreshing and pretty ( ie Paris setting at Christmas) as a previous poster said.I enjoyed it by going with the flow and not thinking back to the characters.I'm glad Noah's family and especially Helen seemed happier .

I've found this whole series confusing and dull. I don't know how they'd string out another series. Maybe they should have left it at two.

Fair review of the first half of the series. Shame it went off in the s find half, but I do think they make a good point about the characters. I like that they're NOT likeable.

I agree Elena it feels as though an episode is missing

Or it was Quick let's wrap it up we have something else to work in now and we better put a moral twist on it those that cheat end up miserable and lonely to please the audience

That's what I thought about the time line and when did they become partners?

It felt a bit like they ran out of money or the writers / actors left and they couldn't finish the Alison / Cole storyline.

How can you overcome addiction to prescription drugs in 3 months so completely? I bet a lot of people would like to know that.

I watched this drama as a psychological entertainer rather than a drama. I cannot judge but think what can happen to quite normal people.

  • I was also sooooo very angry that Noah choose to cheat although he knows its ...etc.

I have disliked him eversince as he abandoned his lovely family for his midlife crisis.
But this series ending made me forgive as he kind of realise and know what happened and put his daughter 1st but when the driver asked if he had said Montuak I would have kept my disappointment on him.

-Helen is a good wife,,, think how hard it would have been to be a mom to 3 growing children considering what happened. What I realised is you could love someone and they may not love you back and keep loving another no matter how much you do to save/ help them.

Hi
I am left with unanswered questions and couldn't find it in the whole series and I hope they will tell it in series 4. Before the accident Noah says to Allison I never want to see you again and how and when did they get married for them to be signing divorce papers in the 3rd episode. Was it in any other episodes how ....
thanks

I'm going to wade in and watch it all again. On reflection I think there are some interesting things in it.

From a literary perspective, the unreliable narrator was interesting. Was it rape? Looked like it only from Noah's side? How much of it was in his novel? How much was real? How much was madness?

Those women ALL loved his book- anyone who read it seemed to fall into sex with him.

They all had serious family issues - les enfants / parents terrible and all that.

It did get disjointed. Like we missed an episode last week to this week.

Did anyone else notice that at certain points the filming went odd, like out of focus and fragmented (or do I need glasses?)

The New York Times review was quite good if you google it. The thought it was was messy too, but perhaps S4 will resolve?

Oh and it does remind me a bit of Don Draper in Mad Men and his psychological journey.

I'm getting boring now. Sorry.

Yes, I loved that she hopped out of the bed still wearing suspenders and was straight into her clothes without a bra.

Do sex people not go to the loo or wash?

Glad that was the last episode.

Can't believe they spent about 20 mins on a massively annoying bit part player in the show, although to be fair it was slightly more entertaining than watching Noah self-combust for once.

Sadly it looks like there will another series. Which I will probably watch as I love Maura Tierney and I do feel it's well acted if a bit tedious.
