Thread one here

So, Sophie Giroux returned pretending to be Alice Webster. DNA results on the body in the shed confirm she is related to Sam.

Baptiste has found out about Henry Reed and the Brigadier being involved with a 9 year old girl in Iraq in 1991. Henry Reed was paying this girls brother.

There are 3 girls in the rollercoaster photo, Sophie, Alice and possibly the girl from Iraq? She has that colouring.

Henry Reed apparently committed suicide although Julien told Daniel he didn't. Whatever Daniel found out about him made him sick.

Nadia has been badly beaten and her husband is still in prison after being identified by Sophie/Alice. Matthew was made to promise to say sorry to the butcher.

Sophie is now in Switzerland. As is the newly spray painted yellow campervan that abducted Alice. Gemma and Baptiste doubt the DNA results as they are still looking for answers 2 years after she returned.

Birds keep being mentioned. Sophie and Alice both had the Web tattoo on their wrists.

Aldi is still in town present day that's when we saw her at Aldi.

So are we saying that Sam going on Med leave for Matthew is the same thing same is talking about when he said he thought things would be better after what happened a few months ago? Watching it I assumed two separate things thinking he went on med leave after the fire but I guess if it's psd related it could have been that long after? There was still stuff in therapy that Sam wouldn't talk about so I wasn't sure if that was the thing he did for Matthew or just fire details

MiddleClassProblem · 10/11/2016 23:16

Which if just fire details and he hates therapy you'd think he would talk some stages of it just to get therapy over with and go back to work?

MiddleClassProblem · 10/11/2016 23:17

As in he hates the therapy not meaning that therapy works that quick

19lottie82 · 10/11/2016 23:27

Useless fact but did anyone the guy in Iraq (who went to Bristol Uni and took blood money from henry reid each month) as Tariq from Eastenders in the Early 00s? Or am I imagining it?

The Missing is back next week PART 2!
MiddleClassProblem · 10/11/2016 23:31

No it was Tariq. He's also a cab driver in The Night Of

19lottie82 · 10/11/2016 23:45

Yes, so he was!

EnidButton · 11/11/2016 00:12

Oh yes Annie Brig and Henry were the two confirmed weren't they.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2016 03:41

If we are all discussing washing then yes I noticed mum hung properly - tops by bottoms 😬😬 and then dad hung one t shirt wrong way - and then sheet folded in the middle

I always peg sheets by ends

seriously bugged me 😇😇

BestIsWest · 11/11/2016 06:05

He was also Gary in Only Fools (Tariq).

What's bothering me is why woukd they have let Alice/Sophie out because of the appendicitis. Why wouldn't they just have killed her if she was causing trouble?

Fiderer · 11/11/2016 06:42

Grim tale of abducted children, murder, violence, gloom all round. Then the Driller Killer horror.

We have theories and questions and loads of us thinking "That washing's on the ground. Doesn't she have a pole?" Grin

OreoHeaven · 11/11/2016 07:20

I was half asleep watching it whilst also on FB and missed who Driller Killer was? Was he related to Lena, the third girl in the pic?

Fiderer · 11/11/2016 07:36

He's the army press officer in Eckhausen so knew the Websters. Turns out he also knew Lena's family. Which lovely Jorn found out when he called Lena's mum. And then he went to Gettrick's house alone (stupid) in the dark (scary) and asked him about it, showed him photos.

Gettrick did a pretty good job of feigning "What does it all mean?" until a little girl came down with a picture she'd drawn. And lovely Jorn, instead of saying "Your dad says it's bedtime" and scarpering, encourages her to show the picture. Mummy and me in the basement. Drill. Horror. End of lovely Jorn and his music.

storminabuttercup · 11/11/2016 07:56

Not read all the thread after Wednesdays episode but I've had some thoughts...

What if Sam wasn't Alice's dad? We know he wasn't around at the birth probably as he's a serving officer, but what if Gemma had an affair so knows that Alice can't match Sams DNA hence still looking for her?

Does Sophie/Alice want to be found in Switzerland? Leaving the bag knowing that the cute waiter fancies her so he would follow her? Maybe she thinks she's being watched hence the 'I'm taken' comment and couldn't directly ask for help? She walked a long way while the waiter was shouting for her?

Driller killer knew that Sophie/Alice was locked in the shed as he was the one who helped her get out, he clearly fed the story to the German media that Matthew had locked her in. BUT what if driller killer is a good guy? (Apart from drilling people's brains out obvs) what if he freed Alice by killing off her captors but didn't know who else was involved?

Why oh why did they have to kill off German police man? Hopefully they will check his PC or he's left a note on his desk or something.

Also how is Alice/Sophie living in Switzerland buying coffee in cafes etc? Where's her money coming from if she really did just escape?

storminabuttercup · 11/11/2016 08:04

Oh and I think Daniel had found out about his dad's sex life and that's what made him disgusted not anything to do with Iraq. The money he was sending was to help the Iraqi
Family and Daniel went out to fight their cause, but then he found out about the brothel

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2016 08:16

So if driller killer knew Alice and Lena parents. Does he know Sophie's?

Fab pic of basement and mummy and I

Tho surely the girl would have the odd brain cell and know that would make daddy angry 😡

diddl · 11/11/2016 08:17

Baptiste was taken ill in the policeman's car, wasn't he & an ambulance was called.

Is that why the policeman went alone to Gerrick's house?

Wasn't the story fed to the French media?

As a warning to someone still being held? Or so that Alice would know that everyone thinks that she is dead?

MiddleClassProblem · 11/11/2016 08:26

I don't think theirs anyway driller killer can be regarded as a goodie. Even if the theory that he freed the girls is right, he didn't report any of it and kept a kid hostage.

Fiderer · 11/11/2016 08:27

Baptiste collapsed in the car in 2014 though, didn't he? Now he's back.

Think lovely Jorn was too impatient/had that Find Out Why What impulse/not wanting to bother ill Baptiste late at night and went alone to DK.

shinynewusername · 11/11/2016 08:31

I'm still of the opinion that Brig has been involved in historic abuse but is not connected to the abductions

I think there are two separate crimes: Iraq and the girls' abduction but the link is paedophiles/rapists covering up for each other. The idea of the girls' abduction being revenge for Iraq seems too unlikely, especially with one of them from France (not involved in Iraq invasion).

I'm also not convinced that Henry Reed is actually guilty of anything. Do we have any evidence that he is, other than the word of the dodgy Brig? I think he may have had knowledge that led to his death, whether suicide or murder, but may not have been a participant.

diddl · 11/11/2016 08:34

"Baptiste collapsed in the car in 2014 though, didn't he?"

Blush
shinynewusername · 11/11/2016 08:36

Think lovely Jorn was too impatient

Jorn's murder was a bit daft IMO. For one thing, surely Lesson 1 at police school is never to turn your back and crouch down with someone you have just realised may be a murderer behind you? I realise he was caught up in the moment but I would have thought it would be absolutely ingrained for a police officer not to make himself vulnerable like that.

Also, we are supposed to believe that the driller killer has been subtle and calculating enough to get away with involvement in high profile crimes for years, but at the same time believe that he wouldn't have a better system for avoiding discovery than relying on a small child to stay upstairs when told.

Fiderer · 11/11/2016 08:38

diddl Grin I agree with the poster ^^ who said they should have the flipping year at the bottom of the screen all the time so we don't have to rely on hair cuts to determine when as well as what and why.

diddl · 11/11/2016 08:43

Also, unless Eve's present day pregnancy has some huuuuge significance, did anyone else Hmm when she told Sam?

Elendon · 11/11/2016 08:51

Yes it was in 2014 that Baptiste collapsed, so why didn't Jorn contact Baptiste with the news about Lena? Did Jorn know that Baptiste was back in town? Plus, he has given a CD of his music to Eve, what was that about?

I think Gemma conceived Alice through egg donation which is why they went on Sam's DNA. Apologies if this has been said before.

MiddleClassProblem · 11/11/2016 08:57

I think they went through Sam as he was in hospital and easy to collect whilst there
