So, Sophie Giroux returned pretending to be Alice Webster. DNA results on the body in the shed confirm she is related to Sam.

Baptiste has found out about Henry Reed and the Brigadier being involved with a 9 year old girl in Iraq in 1991. Henry Reed was paying this girls brother.

There are 3 girls in the rollercoaster photo, Sophie, Alice and possibly the girl from Iraq? She has that colouring.

Henry Reed apparently committed suicide although Julien told Daniel he didn't. Whatever Daniel found out about him made him sick.

Nadia has been badly beaten and her husband is still in prison after being identified by Sophie/Alice. Matthew was made to promise to say sorry to the butcher.

Sophie is now in Switzerland. As is the newly spray painted yellow campervan that abducted Alice. Gemma and Baptiste doubt the DNA results as they are still looking for answers 2 years after she returned.

Birds keep being mentioned. Sophie and Alice both had the Web tattoo on their wrists.

morris the first time Matty locked "Alice" in the shed we saw him leave the key in the padlock. Assuming he did the same on the next night whoever was helping "Alice" could easily let her out. She must have outside help from someone - she couldn't drag a body through town in broad day light 4 days after appendix removal some had to help her.

I was trying to work out how they could have switched her out of a locked shed, but then I guess if you were going to burn it down anyway you could just break a hole in it.

Very much like the theory that Sophie has been allowed to 'escape' to get treatment so that they can get rid of Alice's body and frame the butcher. I think she is waiting in Switzerland for him to join her (although I'm struggling with the two year gap). Not sure what has happened to Lena - I'm guessing she's in the basement looking after Sophie's daughter.

I keep thinking back to series 1 though - I invested loads of brain power trying to work out how all these ne'erdowells were connected to the missing boy but at the end it was all irrelevant. This could all be a massive red herring.

I noticed the action that Baptiste took as Isla checking the time as something else too, but I didn't think she had a web tattoo. She wouldn't fit with the others anyway, being as she would have been male at the age the girls were taken. I thought it was in reaction to the phrase "missing children" and wondered if she had gone missing herself, but maybe more of her own accord perhaps? Who knows?

Also thought the Brig's exchange with Eve outside the hospital when she was in the wheelchair was slightly odd.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few episodes as last night's seemed to have tied up a lot.

The two-year wait could be based on Derek's retirement. Army regulations, didn't want to leave earlier as maybe wouldn't get as much money. Knew "Alice" would remain obedient. And she had to be let out because of the appendicitis. So necessity.

Though he seems v young for retirement.

Thought I'd missed a scene with him going round Markies, chucking twin packs of everything into his basket and cackling wildly. Ha

I think Sam is guilty. I think the whole Iraq thing is a red herring. At the beginning, I don't think we actually saw Alice being kidnapped, did we? We saw her walking along the street and the campervan pulling up. What if it was her Dad in the campervan and maybe driller killer? How do we know Alice was even held captive? We only know what the creepy girl (Sophie?) has told us.

Can I just check - who do we all think the girl is at the start of last night's programme? I remember reading a previous post saying that it must be Alice, as the cast list was in order of appearance - and Alice was first?

I haven't been on MN in about 6 years but I was sitting here thinking about Missing and I realised you lot would have the answers 👍

jetcat she has always been billed as Alice as that is who she says she is but we are pretty sure she is actually Sophie.

made that's what I meant, her sister (is she older?) was a twin, the other twin died maybe, so Brig steals/kidnaps Eve (as a replacement). That's why he always buys two of everything. Maybe Eve is the Iraqi girl? Maybe the Iraqi wasn't killed, was there a body? Would the timings/ages fit?
Also, sorry but I think smiley Swiss cafe guy is either going to turn out to be a massive hero (discovers kidnapped girls in VW van) or he's going to die a horrible death......
Definitely think body in the shed was Lena.

I still think the 3 in Iraq were Brig, Henry and Aldi.
I don't think Driller was a baddy originally - I think he started out in a rescuer role but has become embroiled in everything and turned bad.
Henry may have committed suicide and the explanation for the car going and returning is his son borrowed it that night (but wasn't insured/licensed).

I dunno i just feel if sophie was waiting for driller killer and her child she would be setting up a home for them, that house had nothing but a bare mattress in it, she has had two years to get it sorted. Oh i don't even care I just can't wait for the next one!

Moon face, when I watched the first episode I wondered whether she was being kidnapped or meeting someone she knew/who had groomed her, it wasn't explicit. She had form for going awol from school.

We saw Alice walk along the road and a few pull up and her at the side of it by the drivers window matbe(?) in EP 1. We then saw the legs of a schoolgirl laying in the back of the van.

I don't think it's as complex as we think. Even eve and the surrogate isn't entirely unusual and doesnt point to it manning there's som thing bad in their life.

I think all 3 girls were kidnapped. Wond ring if there's possibly something in there being 3 girls and 3 people involved in Iraq.

Do we have timeline for when the roller coaster photo was taken?

The only thing I would say we know for sure is the girl who returned gave birth and the girl we saw last night has been in a cellar with her mum. We know the girl who returned was held underground.

We also know drilla wanted mr fit German policeman silent!

We know eve had a baby in 2014 for her sister and is pg in 2016.

We know Sam was injured during the shed fire and know he was medically unfit due to something he did a few months previously in present day to save Matthew from something.

We know Matthew locked the girl who returned in the shed.

We know the girl who returned went and put flowers on Henry Reeds grave.

We assume the girl in present day is same one who returned. Clearly they are casting wise! But does that actually mean they are?!

We know Sophie disappeared in 2002, Alice 2003 and Lena 2008. Why the 5 year gap?

We know Alice and Lena parents knew drilla man. But is there indication Sam and Gemma knew him before Alice return?

Why would you put a Christmas decoration in one segment of a revolving door to a hospital? What if theirs an emergency and they have to wait an additional 5 seconds?

I don't think we know about Sophie's abduction. Just that Baptist asked her mum one too many questions and she threw herself off a building.
